Canadian Resident White-tailed Deer Draw 2011

All Canadian resident hunters interested in pursuing white-tailed deer in Saskatchewan in 2011 will be required to submit an on-line application for a licence. Interested hunters will be able to select one wildlife management zone of their choice and then will be required to restrict their hunting activities to that zone.

This draw will be similar to the Saskatchewan Big Game Draw in that up to four hunters can apply on one application and an individual hunter can only apply once. The hunter or hunters will select one wildlife management zone in which to hunt. There will be no priority system or maximum quotas for this year. Therefore, in 2011 all hunters will be drawn. However, in future years, the draw may move to a priority pool system with a limited number of licences awarded per zone.

The draw will be by on-line application only, with no paper applications or phone applications accepted. The website for the draw will open on May 1 and close on May 31, 2011. Licences will be mailed prior to August 1, 2011.

Further details will be available in April. If you have any questions please call 798-4000 for further information.

So is there any place a non resident can apply and self guide for Mule Deer??? I've been looking around but can't find anything, and I'm not paying $5000 to shoot a deer.

No self guided mule deer in Sask or Alta, not even easy for residents to get tags. If you want to go self guided you will have to look into the Western states. You can get over the couter tags in Wyoming and Colorado. Pretty much every Western State has self guided hunts for mule deer.

Great Newfie Hunter

Thank God I have a brother in Alberta who hunts....He buys the "Host License"..I got my win # and next fall I go out there and walk into Canadian Tire and buy my Non-Resident tags...
My Brother and I visited the fish and game place out there in Stratmore and the CO told me that the only thing I had to apply for was Moose and it usually takes only two years to get a tag.....Just like Ontario right lol)))
I have figured it out now Im better off appling for a moose tag out in Alberta and taking two weeks vacation and going out there to hunt with my brother and his buddies...
You know where I will be next November cuddled up on a cott in a outfitters tent with the woodstove roaring... :D
