If I were to guess, I would say Saskatchewan. Do I win a prize if I'm right?

Saskatchewan is #1 for B&C whitetails in Canada. Alberta is second.

From 2000 to 2012, Saskatchewan has produced 311 entries (217 T, 94 NT), Alberta has 213 to its name (127 T, 86 NT), Ontario 59 (36 T, 23 NT), Manitoba 35 (15 T, 10 NT), and British Columbia, 34 (20 T, 14 NT).

Most entries come from the boreal regions. If you hunt in BC near Dawson Creek and the Peace River system, your chances at a B&C whitetail are very good. Same goes for Northwestern Ontario. Saskatchewan and Alberta seem to produce so well because they have many major drainage systems running through prime forest-fringe areas (i.e., the rivers run through areas where the climate is very cold, the cover is there, but there is an abundance of agriculture as well).

Actually, the Ontario figures are a little skewed.

Many Ontario heads don't get entered, because they were taken under our party hunting regimen, and B&C won't recognize the hunter in these situations.

Also, Ontario hunters seem reluctant to enter their trophies in B&C. I'd speculate that only about 20% of the B&C qualifying deer that I've measured at shows actually get submitted to B&C.

The current Ontario Record book shows 113 typicals that meet the B&C minimum, and 59 non-typicals.
Hunting is Exciting!

Looks like good odds for a non typical, if I am not mistaken bein a non-resident I have to hire a outfitter to hunt SK and AB I think but not sure.

A non-resident would need an outfitter in Saskatchewan or Alberta.

Prime example of big buck not being entered into B & C from northern ontario. My girlfriend holding this thing in the pic. I wont share the story on it as it isnt mine to tell, and he wouldnt want ppl pressuring his property hunting there. Posted Image

Very nice! The mass on that brute is something else. Ok, don't tell the story but can you tell us the score and general area of the province it was harvested in? Ie. Dryden?

Never been measured by eye when I held it I would think 225nt gross. No I don't wanna say where it was shot as a courtesy to the residents there and that particular landowner. I would like to stay in his good graces in case he ever let's anyone else on his land again haha.

PW

Edit as far as the score bear in mind he has 4 drop tines and the mass is ridiculous.
