TomA,

I looked at those about 2 yrs ago, even spoke with the US distributer down in I think it was Tennessee or Kentucky, real nice guy, but they were pricey. So I went out and bought the 8 blade disc harrow (more bag for the buck for me), but the unit is amazing and very practical, I tried to talk my buddy into buying one, his issue was cost too.

I Own the original... The new one they run through Mossy Oak I would hope is better than the first.. The original does not cut ground the way it looks to... i mowed about a half acre and after a good 30 minutes i did not have much done.. other things to consider which i learned.. you have to have a very strong welded hitch for this unit.. bought mine from ATV-Guru.com toPaul can custom build to your machines specs for about $60. Other things.. need to have 4 wheel drive quad.. you will need to spray and kill all the grass with the original.. new may be better as it has cutter disc's but i would still spray.. you have carry something like a 3 ft long piece of 4x4 to back tires up on cause you cannot install unless rear end is raised..

If the ground is somewhat bare they are great though..

I wonder if they are any better today?

Not sure, but I think they made some improvements by making the disks more agressive. I remember reading on one of the food plot forums that some initial improvements were necessary and I think that was one of them. The new ones have the notched disks compared to smooth.

In the videos I've seen , They dont mention rocks. You will find them and what will happen ? Light duty from what I see but warning shot has a set as well. Maybe he could give us a heads up ?

i have one and it has been good ...i picked one up for around 200 bucks a few years back so i thought i'd try it but, would i want it for a big plot no way ...would i buy another yep...but i haven't used any other brands so i can't say its the best or worst out there ..i have had a few issues and no problems with service either ...i find my soil needs to be moist or wet to work well...as for rocks it just rolls over them...unless they fit nicely in between the discs and get hung up...hitch is a issue as well but what they include works on my honda 350 but a permanent receiver would work best ...hope this helps ..pm me if you want more info..

plot i worked on, no spraying

Thanks warningshot. I was thinking of getting one at some point for some of the harder to access areas.

it fit my price which got me started on plotting .. there is a video on u tube but i wouldn't say that it throws around dirt like that at least until you have done quite a few passes .....now it cuts like butter ..but it took a bit of trial and error too...getting the blades the right depth etc but don't think you can do large plots with it ...i wish it was as wide as my bike though
