Just wondering how late can you wait to plant for the fall, whether it be turnips, brassica's , forage radish , or what ever. I was thinking of planting some more , before i start getting ready for moose and deer hunt's. LOL. :hick:

Usually try to get them in about 6 weeks before a killing frost. It is still worth your while to plant them. Even if they don't get to their optimum growth the deer will still browse them heavily if immature .

Yeah I gotta agree with Greenhorn, I did winter wheat in first week of september and it got hammered. And any brassica is good right now too. I did up a small half acre plot for my buddy last year cuz he was too busy farming, we did it up with turnips and it grew like crazy, turnips the size of grapefruit, mind you he hammered it with triple 19 a couple times so I'm sure that helped a bunch too.
