What are you seeing? What do you define as great results? I am not a fan of rackstacker minerals simply because they cost so much for such a small amount of mineral that I can whip together from local co-op ingrediants. There is no big secret to the contents. Just my opinion. There certainly is a place for ready made minerals from rackstacker but many on this forum have figured out how to this ourselves for much less money.

Here are a few links. Every mineral site I have turns into a big hole in the ground and are visited frequently. I do like starting things around old stumps like Larry.

I usually get mineral out in the spring, April or March. I refresh during the summer as well.

Same thing I've used but without the dried molasses. I'm going to give that a try though. Thanks.

i have had good success with rackstacker..it smells great and draws them in and have had it out and have been following a few bucks, from buck fawns to mature bucks over the past 4 years and not seen any great improvement on racks so not too sure about it's effectiveness and switched to cheaper and just as effective in drawing them in ... i have just switched to cheaper salt blocks with trace mineral salts ...they go for 1.75 and i use 1-2 of them at a site ...can pick them up a local feed stores ...they are drawing them in very well

Picked up 4 bags at Ritchie Feed and Seed in Ottawa tonight:

Di-calcium phosphate 25 kg bag $29.99
Trace mineral salt, the red & loose kind without the medications 25 kg bag $15.49
Stock salt, Iodized 25 kg bag $10.49
Dried Molasses 25 kg bag $18.59

and I got $10 off with this coupon so it was $70 out the door for 100kg.

Out of curiosity, is putting out mineral mixes something that would be beneficial to do now or more so in the spring?

More in the spring. But I am basically getting an early start on next spring.

I put some mineral powder out this summer that I bought at Sail. I am going to put this stuff at the same spot. I have 220lbs of it so I will probably put out about 40lbs now and another 50 or 60 at the same spot in April. I am hoping this will keep them in the area. They have everything else they need to stick around. Food, Water, Shelter and enough room.
