anyone ever try to grow sugar beets or used them for bait?

Grew them last year, pricey seed. Grew well, deer hammered them before any other. I had them in a 2 acres plot, but about 200 yards away I had 4 acres of soybeans and they would go back and forth between both plots. I started them in May if I recall. Dont grow them with anything, let them get as much sun as possible.

We use them here in Michigan for bait. They are expensive as far as bait goes but work great. I tried to grow them but had zero luck with them. I don't know the tonnage per acre but it is alot. Good Luck. :cheers:
