Not working dirt anymore....too stinking hot out  Once it cools down I have a third plot that I cleared in the spring and was hoping to get some brassica/clover into.

Checked out one of the other clover plots a month or so back...seems to be coming along.

Yes i did. I used a 3pth fertilizer spreader to broadcast the seed and then gave it a light discing and then rolled it. Coverage was pretty good. i think the key is to have the soil worked really well.
I'll pass along one other thing...always use fresh seed. last year I planted some that was left over from the year before and hardly any of it came up.

I don't have pics but I put in a small 40x100 ft plot early this year. Getting Brassicas in this weekend and some turnip. The clover I seeded has taken a while to get going as we had 0mm of precip in May. Checked on it last night and the weeds are awful. might have to do some hoeing before I plant anything this weekend. My clover is only about an inch high.

Planted an acre of oats/clover about a month ago and it's coming up nice. Mowed my existing clover last week. I'm hoping to get my brassicas in the ground shortly.

Update...........I planted my peas yesterday.....and I threw in some green beans that were left over from my garden.........about a kilo of seeds total. I'll get some pics in a couple weeks after everything is up. FS had there seeds 4.99 /LB. I didn't think that was too bad considering what it looked like in the bag. For $10.50 I got more than enough for my small plot and my garden. I spent less than $25 bucks in seed with my clover included. Alot less than the pre mixes you can buy.

Checked out the pea and bean and radish plots this weekend and everything is coming along nice. Forgot the camera in the bay so pictures later.

SCORED,, Talked to a landowner near by who is a sheep farmer with all the equipment and worked out a deal for him to plow and till a big section we wanted to get done. Our drainage efforts from the spring as well as the dry spring has helped.
Also picked up some more places to hunt near fields with peas and oats for bail and silage :D

Change of plans due to drought. I had planned on spraying Roundup mid-July and No-tilling Turnip/Brassicas. But too dry to spray.

So, I've tilled and plan to plant tomorrow morning(Wednesday). I'll broadcast and pack.

Rain forecast here (Manitoulin), for Wednesday!!!

Been away for a while and went to put my brassicas in last week.....but.....tractor problems. Hope to have it sorted out and get them in the ground. I'm already behind a couple of weeks.
Plan to till my oat/clover plot under in another couple of weeks and go with the rye/radish/clover plot for the fall.

sorry no pics, but plot is in. Perhaps later when I have more time.

The Rain didn't amount to much here. If weather doesn't cooperate, I'll replant with Rye/clover later in August.

Just seeded a 1/3 acre of deer on a bag and 1 acre of peas , soy bean and radish. See what happen's . If we would have seeded a month ago it would have laid dormant till now anyway. :hick: :fishin:
