was going to try and put winter rye in a small area this year not going to be big at all doing it as a test.bush hog first use lawn mower second to get grass shorter throw rye down with red clover then cover with wheat straw.what do yall think?cant till the land.

sounds interesting. Might work?? You should be able to tell in the fall if it will work I would think. If you see some rye popping through you've got it. Not sure about the clover though as it's usually best spring planted. |

winter rye is able to grow in any type of soil dont even need fertilizer wheat straw helps germinate the the seed the red clover wont grow now but stay in a so called sleep mode till spring.
