I've got a spot all worked over and ready to go and I'm itching to get some planted but with it so dry I just can't do it. Need about 30mm of rain just to get the ground wet probably. Anyone else in the same boat? How late would you plant your brac's? If it stays dry for too long I"m thinking it might be a good year for fall rye.

Driving me nuts to :crycry: I broke the ground up again last week and boy was the dust flying...the only good thing is the weeds aren't going either.we were supposed to get rain today so I planted some peas yesterday because I was impatient. guess what...noooo rain...no we are supposed to get rain at beginning of next week....frustrating to say the least...but just think how the poor farmers deal...there lively hood is depending on rain and they are going to loose there shirts this year

i rolled the dice with my brassicas had them planted by saturday night.I heard there was possibility of rain for monday did not rain. Next forecasted rain for Manitoulin Island is for friday. If these plots fail I will reseed them with a combo of winter wheat and ladino clover.

You should be ok.

Last year when I planted we didn't get much rain for the first 2-3 weeks and they did OK. This year was a funny year so far.

Finally got mine in at the end of July. Later than I would have liked but added lots of nitrogen so still hoping for a good crop. Lots of rain since I planted so I should be ok.
