I am well behind the eight ball on the plots and my buddies crawler is done. so I mowed my plot from last year and the deer hit it and got a few pics. But today I found myself ripping it up again. What should I plant... I didn't get a soil test and reading other posts is the rye wheat and clover a good idea.. I would like to get some brassica's.... but I don't think i can till the soils up enough with the quad and rake.... |

I'd go with the Rye and clover. Even with low fertility, Rye will do well late into the fall. |

Good Morning Forkhorn Rye and clover would work well, I just planted some Biologic Premium Perennial yesterday. A bit late I agree but it has been so dry here it would not have germinated/ grown much up to this point. You would be suprised at how little you actually have to work the soil to get it to catch. If you have a decent kill with Roundup on your previous growth with a light "scratching" of the soil you should have good luck. All the best Reuben |

The deer pics are just after I mowed it down... it looks like the plot was active. Today there was a few tracks in the fresh dirt also.. but what done is done. I put the hole bag of honey hole and the 4 lbs of red clover along with 30 lbs of rye along with fert.. It was a one shot deal because my time is so limited lately. Hopefully it takes Your probably wondering why the plow... I weighted the plow after sharpening the cutting edge and was hoping to roll the overburden..... but no dice the kid helped raking by hand today
