So I read a great article the other night on North American Whitetail's site about planting fall food plots into mid-August....and it really got me thinking about doing it....my clover plots are getting hammered and that is good cause we did plant them for spring/summer nutrition but there are a couple of spots that we didn't get planted this spring that I am thinking about tearing up, but what to plant? It has been really dry this year, but in the last two days we have probably had 3-4" of rain so it would be perfect to get some plots drilled in the ground!!!

Any suggestions on what to plant? I have limited time, so it will have to be quick till up the ground, spread some seed and fert. I was leaning towards a oat/wheat mix but have really started to ponder an oat/rye and perhaps clover mix.

I'm repeating myself, but Rye/clover or straight rye, if time is limited.
