If there are any of those available for rent in your area it might be worthwhile renting, but it all depends on your goals. For quickly clearing out small underbrush and even trees up to 6-8" diameter, your best bet is a hand-held brush-cutter like this; http://www.stihlusa.com/products/trimmers-...-clearing-saws/ They use a circular saw blade and will make quick work of anything that the "Brush Blazer" can take out. They're also a lot lighter to haul around for a whole day than a chainsaw is. If you really want to turn all that cleared brush into mulch, it would be worth renting or buying a small wood chipper. If you want to take it a step farther look for a soil-reclaiming service in your area. Forestry & agricultural services should have access to a soil mulcher (often called a stump cutter or rotovator) similar to this Soil-Hog; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOMTj84l3Jk A rotovator can turn a field full of tree stumps into ready to till plain soil in a matter of days, although the exact time per acre depends on soil type, rockyness, and density & size of tree stumps. If your plan is simply to clear out brush, rent or buy a hand-held brush cutter. If you want to turn a wooded area into a food-plot ready patch of ground, hire someone with a rotovator. Hope this helps Tim |

I bought a used brushog for my farm tractor for $1100.00. Does a great job, mulches everything up to 3", no picking up branches. For bigger trees, use a chainsaw. If you dont have a tractor, might be cheaper to get a contractor to do it. Good Luck |
