Peas Beans and Corn going in next week. Were getting a crap load of rain over today and the next few days , then the sun is supposed to come out and I hope dry things out enough to put seed down. Land owner told me the deer have been on the winter wheat/red clover we have down for spring forage and green manure as well as a small ladino/alfalfa plot. Pumped to get things rolling after last years dry spring and summer. |

That's my exact recipe this year. I planted a 1/2 acre of soy on opposite side of my stand. I put 1/2 acre of peas right under my stand. Then I lined the whole plot with corn. My plan is that the peas will feed during June July. They are already about 5" tall. The soy would then be late summer August September. At that point I'd be spraying my peas and planting brassicas in place for the hunting season. So far 3 does are visiting nightly at my place. As long as I keep these three ladies around, come November there potential suitors should come chasing them. Yes I know my strategy for deer hunting is same as a pimp. |
