You can not simply walk and toss seed and hope for soil and seed contact, anyone who tells you different is a fool. The only method of walking and tossing I know of is frost seeding in an area with a lot of exposed soil and conditions where you get freeze and thaw over a number of days. The other possible exception is the ground below the original water line of a freshly busted up beaver pond. The exposed soil would be ripe for a walk in toss in the sping of certain seeds that don't need much seed depth like chicory or clovers. Here is a video mattones on simple food plotting without all the big equipment. Small forest openings with little equipment. Good to see you back on the forum. Good luck with your plotting, let us know how it goes. [dohtml]<iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/09GG0Y9BdI8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>[/dohtml] |

Walk n Toss from Rack Stacker but I agree, the only way was frost seeding. I did have success with it but I took a thatching rake to the area I was putting it down. RED |
