If your just planting those two I would go 6 lbs/acre turnips and 4 lbs/ac rape. Some folks add some radishes too. Friggs |

10lbs total per acre is fine. 60% Rape and 40%Turnip "but" I would replace the turnip with forage radish. |

hmmm why the forage radish bigr?? Just curious I just mixed up a blend of 25% New York Turnip, 25% Barkant Turnips and 50% Chicory.....I was thinking of adding sugar beets to the mix for a little more versatility, but decided against it.....I may add radish to it.....depending on your reasoning next year, as this is just a mix I am playing with...

Thanks Guys I will check into getting some radishes , the turnips work fine as well I just found that they tended to out compete the rapeseed and I ended up with mostly turnip in the plot. JR |

If your mixing all three then go with Dbltree's brassica mixture. Turnips - 3 lbs/acre Rape - 2 lbs/ac Radish - 5 lbs/ac Add 100 lbs/ac of urea 4-5 weeks after planting and before at least 1/2 inch of rain. I think Speare seeds have all three and they ship. (519) 338-3840 Friggs |
