They were used on foxes and wolves and the beagles on deer as they are slower and they are not pushed out of township. Some of the ones pictured were bred with Rocky the bloodhound who was the best tracker of the bunch. At one time we had 12 working dogs when the fox hides were near 100 dollars. Good memories of many chases. One winter we got nearly 80 foxes ahead of dogs and 60 plus with traps. We usually were four hunters working the dogs. |
