Went out to Montana to hunt ! I applied for mule deer and antelope tags. I was unsuccessful in the mule deer draw so this is the view from the blind on the first morning. 5 mule deer bucks within 10-15 yards and if you look close a nice pronghorn buck out about 100 yards and no intentions of coming any closer ! :crycry:

well cant seem to get the video to embed like before so not much point to this post I guess

Loved the video. That one buck was a real beauty. One of my hunting buddies goes out ever year and has come back with some really nice deer. He is a really good shot and many are at really long shots. He hunts wild country and spots and scopes.

I went during the bow season. It was the first time they had sold out the general mule deer tags ever of course so I didn't get drawn. That was the first day I was told to set up a blind near a water hole and wait. None of the antelpe would come to the water hole I think because of the blind. So I decided to get out and try and stalk. I would get to around 70 yards but no closer. It was fun stalking antelope which I had a tag for. Everytime I did a stock on antelope I would bust some mule deer. They would just stand there at 40 yards and look at me. I saw some impressive bucks many bigger than the one in the video in bow range . It was like they knew I didn't have a tag.

Cool video. Their 6th sense lets them know what tag is in your pocket.

Neat video
Do you need preference points for pronghorn in Montana
or tag over the counter
70 yards itís a little bit far
I went to Walsenburg Colorado for pronghorn no luck for me either

You're not paying for a stay at the Hilton, you're paying to participate in nature. Anything can happen.
I work part time so I can hunt full time

It's a draw for both. I was told both the draws for archery antelope and for a general mule deer tag never sell out. The antelope didn't and I got a tag however the general mule deer tags sold out for the first time ever. I really want to go back next year for mule deer as i saw some great bucks that I was able to get close to. I bought preference points for both for next year.

You wont regret it pretty cool place and species of big game animals to hunt. Seeing them speed goats racing across the fields and then springing over those cattle fences is something to see. Also seeing as many as 7 huge mule deer bucks parading across the landscape in a group is crazy !
