I don't listen to music while competitive gaming because it keeps me from hearing important things that are going around on the map. Maybe it's different for LoL though. I basically to whatever I'm listening to when I'm casually gaming though

Yeah maybe. I still have my LoL sound over my music to hear for ganks etc. I think I listen to music in LoL a lot mroe than AOE or SC2 because LoL always has the famring/laning stage of the ga,e where you have to focus on last hitting creeps and it gets me into a rythm. Btw you guys ever heard of Basshunter? He's a swedish sorta Trance/dance artist and he made a song about DotA- the W3 mod that LoL is based off: It's mint xD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OzWIFX8M-Y |

It depends on the game. Whenever I play any RTS, I normally just stick to the in-game music/sound effects. When playing any shooter online, I tend to listen to music ranging from tracks like Mayfield Four's "Loose Cannon" (If you want to hear this, google it and click on play from MySpace music, when I post the link here it only gives a 30 second preview), Alter Bridge's "Still Remains" to Soundgarden's "Rusty Cage", and Alice in Chains' "We Die Young". For RPGs, it tends to be either the in-game music or, in The Elder Scrolls case, some type of classical/orchestra music. However, when I play anything from the Fallout series, I start it off with, fittingly, Alter Bridge's "Fallout". Lyrics fit the general mood. Most action/adventure games I play have a pretty nice in-game soundtrack. |
