Safety training is mandatory for all industries especially for hazardous industries. Employers should arrange safety training for all their workers. safety training should recognise the various hazards at work as well as prevent accidents. Employers should have safety program with relevant safety information. Effective training programmes are essential to prevent hazards and accidents. Such programmes also prevent injuries and casualties as well as reduce liabilities, compensations and property damage. The safety trainings are based on prevention of accidents and promotion of safety. The training programmes should cover topics such as safety compliance, accident and emergency response, employee involvement. Safety practices should be introduced in workplace. Workers should be given clear instructions on using heavy equipments as well as machinery, safety instructions should be delivered about using the machineries safely without any issues. There are many chemicals and hazardous materials that should be used safely. Workers should be trained to use protective gears such as goggles, gloves and masks for preventing toxic inhalation. Face shields are used by welders to avoid sparks. Hard hats are used by foremen during construction projects. Workers should receive safety instructions in their vernacular as there are a majority of workers who do not use English. Trainers should be able to handle different languages as well as create interest in the training so that it is grasped by the workers and many workers must develop interest in it. Safety training classes must establish a safety culture, employees promote safety procedures on the job. |
