Name: Odile nó Valerian Age: 20 Status: Active Player: Rivven Roleplaying graphic detail: Likely not with this character Signale: Serenity Appearance: Odile's is an elfin figure, slight and slender, yet beneath her soft skin are the compact muscles of a dancer. The effects of such a pasttime show in her movements as well, and in the limberness which she brings to her practice in the arts of Naamah. Her hair is a rich gold, worn long and adorned in whatever style takes her fancy on a given day. Large and luminous, her green eyes are the most striking trait she owns. Not only for the look of them, but also the way in which she regards the world around her: with distance and intensity co-mingled. As for her marque, it is a brief span over half-finished and thus few other than patrons ever have occasion to see it. Background: Odile is a child of the Night Court, born and raised in Gentian House until the age of fostering was upon her. Her marque was bought by Valerian and to that House she went in her tenth year. Rumour has it that Valerian was not decided as her destination when she was six, but then, not everyone's fate is determined at that point. She settled well enough into her new life and the attendant training. If she did not actively pursue close companionship with her fellow apprentices, then nor did she snub friendly gestures. She simply seemed absorbed in her world much of the time; at least, that was how it seemed to those with little enough exposure to her. The heart of it was that she was an observer, watching others, looking to discern the patterns of their character in their actions and words. After her debut as an adept, that watchfulness was at the core of Odile's interactions with patrons. People came to Valerian House for many reasons, whatever someone who did not share such a brand of desire might think. She would attempt to discern those particular reasons and react accordingly. Some people needed a salve to their confidence which they would find in the sweet yielding of another. Others would find that, with the right words, simple candor from a near-stranger could loose surprising emotion. And in acting upon it, catharsis came. Demeanour: One's upbringing in childhood leaves its stamp, as surely as an apprenticeship does, and this shows in Odile. At times dreamy and distant, at others unnervingly intense in her regard, there is the touch of Gentian's mysticism in her, though undeniably wreathed in Valerian's own allure. Her attention is a mercurial thing; not fickle, but often applying itself to things others find of little consequence or not seeing interest in that which garners great regard from different quarters. She has a habit of breaking from silence into frank questions quite abruptly. From her manner, Odile seems only genuinely curious, whether it is for the content of the answer or the reaction of the person so asked. Yet that cannot completely rub the sheen of impertinence from some of those questions. |
