TerribleSage Sage, Terri and Tess work too. Oh, and Stealth Elder. ![]() Became an Acolyte: The same time as Edukator and Holiday Mix. Terribly mixed education! Someone send me the date, please? Hey You Hi! I try to stay upbeat and happy, so there's that part. I just turned 16 (today! Maybe this is my gift from Iggy?), so I can start working legally now. What? I've been an illegal waitress for the past year. Fun fun! And this summer I'll be able to get my learner's permit! I live in Virginia (whereabouts unknown) with my dad and ride my bike to high school. Yay close proximity! It's almost summer, so that means... Less school and more... work. Ugh. But that means more money, and hopefully a better car! Anyway... Cabbages! After receiving this account (my original was hacked and I had no recoveries ;_;) I heard about the OoC from Rusty and Masuma. I dressed up in gray robes (such a rebel!) and started picking. Eventually, I saw/met Blackbane, who I regarded as the Pope or something. I guess since he's on so rarely, maybe he is something like that. He asked all the recruits at the time why they wanted to be in the OoC. I said "to have fun!", which was apparently the right answer. After that came the original summer of fun. It's mostly a sarcastic term. Once that was over, I got back to picking and playing, and then I got inducted. Yay! I used to be a pure. With 3 defense. Oops. I would train my magic and go into the castle in the wild and kill people to take their runes. I got stronger as I trained, and even got a few Rune items off of dead people. After a while I got too high leveled and got attacked by range pures, so the fun was over. I recently became un-pure and I'm running around skilling and making money. I pick cabbages and cab-art things to passersby, and I'm also thinking about getting members, but I've got more things on my checklist to accomplish before I venture into that. Chapter One~Tell Us a Story A grey cat with splotches of brown lazed in front of a warm fire on a rainy day. Children sat on the floor, playing games, occasionally stroking the cat while many adults and teens sat on benches and chairs, discussing many aspects of Gielinor. The room was filled with many different voices, and outside the open door of the manor in Falador, a few children played around the fountain. Plates clattered in the kitchen as a woman pulled an apple pie out of the oven, slicing it and putting it on plates along with many other delicacies. White and grey streaked her reddish hair as her bright, green-blue eyes scanned over the living room while she served cakes, pies, and cookies. She sat down in a rocking chair by the fireplace, smoothing her pink skirt and lifting the cat onto her lap. “Tell us a story, Auntie Adé!” one of the children shouted. “Oh, alright. What would you like to hear about?” the red-haired lady asked. “Um... How 'bout one of them fancy battles you were in?” “Is that all, child? Oh, there were so many battles for the glory of Saradomin and the strength of Zamorak. I was quite good at scoring for our team. I would sometimes sneak under tunnels and take them with the element of surprise as explosions shook the underground! Or I would fight my way through the front, half running, half defending. I would get to the flag and either pry it from it's rusted stand or wait for it to come back as I defended my post there until it came. I would defend the home team's flag as well. “I don't think I could tell you about one in specific, but those were some of the things I did. Castlewars brought me much enjoyment.. and many memories,” she smiled. “And what of the Order?“ a hooded character in the background said, his clear voice ringing through the room. Everyone instantly turned to him. The woman glanced around nervously, “Order? What order? I have no idea what you're talking about, and who likes fish?“ she said, trying to change the subject. The crowd mumbled, at first about the Order, then about the fish. They all nodded simultaneously. “Wonderful!” she said, and rushed into the kitchen. The hooded character glanced around and slumped back onto the chair. Adé brought out a platter of fish and some plates as everyone took some silverware and ate up. Afterwards, there were more discussions in the living room between friends, and Adé used cleaning as an excuse to stay in the kitchen. People lingered for a while, and finally left. She bade farewell to each of them and called in one of the children from outside as they each started to leave. “Ruby! It’s almost time for bed! Come inside, it’s starting to get cold!” “Just a minute! I’ll be right in!” the girl said, turning towards her mother. She also had pale skin, and radiant, red hair. Her silver eyes glanced about the neighborhood quickly, before she skipped into the door, with Adé locking it behind her. “I want you to read about the Shield of Arrav tonight. It’s in your history lesson tomorrow, and your teacher will be disappointed if you get a low grade on the quiz you’re supposed to have. Off to bed now,” Adé smiled and shooed her off to the bed upstairs. Adé pulled a small, silver key with strange engravings on it out of her pocket. She walked quietly over to the door that had not been opened all them time the guests were there and turned the key in the lock. Light filled the room as the door came open. In one corner, a crate of runes was left open, next to various mystic staves. Dragon weapons of all sorts sat in another corner, with a full set of Guthix Rune Armor. It was all collecting dust and cobwebs. Books were stacked on shelves, and many other strange trinkets were all over the place, including a map to Crandor, and a chest for of keys. Various equipment sat around the room, clothing items too, but the strangest one, and out of all the treasures in the room, the one that stood out the most to Adé was the chef’s hat placed neatly on a drawer. Next to it lay an amulet of strength. She carefully picked up the amulet, clutching it’s string in her hand, she opened the first drawer. A mess of black lay in it. Some carefully folded, and others hastily thrown in. She coughed as she pulled out a top and a bottom. They still fit her perfectly, just as they had when... She dropped the robes onto the creaky floor. Priest robes, and shade robes, they were all the same. Some with different colored belts than others. The next drawer contained capes. Red capes, pink capes, blue capes, green capes, yellow capes, and especially black capes. She shook a red one out, as a spider crawled up her hand. Spiders didn’t bother her, it was trolls that bothered her. After all these years, she still didn’t like trolls. She slung the red cape over her back, Like a glove, she thought, and remembered something else as she opened a drawer full of gloves. All colors they were again, along with matching boots. She sighed as she set the cape down and rummaged through the gloves and boots some more. She couldn’t emphasize more the fact that she hadn’t worn them in some time. The last drawer contained amulets and flowers.. still exuberant in colors that never failed to dazzle Adé’s eyes. Another thing sparked her sharp eye. The small corner of a book peeked out from under the drawers. She picked it up, and upon it was written, “The Hand-Book of Cabbage.” Chapter Two~ Exploration: Discovery of the Fellowship Ruby closed The Shield of Arrav by A.R. Wright. She sighed, “If only I could be a great adventurer like he was. Then I would be known for something, instead of just being a 'silly little girl.” Many knights and such often called her this when she would ask questions. She lived in Falador, but that didn't mean she didn't travel. Although she didn't fight much, she was skilled at many other things. She had never been outside at night... She began to get the idea into her head. Ruby silently crept out of her bed and rummaged through a bag of runes. After pulling out a book, some law runes, and a few others, she stuffed her bed to make it look like she was still sleeping. She flung open the book that contained a map. “I don't want to teleport too far away, because I want to start at Taverly,” she whispered to herself, “I can't sneak out the front, so I guess I'll just teleport to Falador square. The guards won't notice me anyway.” With that said, she gathered an armful of runes and bonded them together into one, so she wouldn't have to carry as many. After she was prepared, and wearing a dwarf outfit that her mother had given her, she muttered the incantation and lifted her arms out to teleport to the square. It was night, but it was still busy with thieves and merchants, which, to Ruby, were practically the same thing. Her white kitten bounded out of the darkness and rolled at her feet, to which Ruby grinned. “You there!” A guard shouted, “Halt!” “Ah, geez,” she rolled her eyes and started to run for the west side of Falador, past the bank. The guard pursued her, thinking he could catch her. Ruby scooped the kitten into her arms and leaped over the crumbling west wall before falling into the lake. “You wait till your mother hears about this, Ruby!” the guard said. How does he know who I am? she thought, but then replied, “That's what you think!” as she started to cast spells at him. At that point, he began to retreat, “You better not tell her or I'll waste ya!” she smirked and dragged herself out of the lake, and onto the small peninsula where the Lady of the Lake stood, adorned in white. “You're out late, aren't you?” the Lady questioned. “Yeah, I know,” Ruby said as she wrung her hair out. She waved and continued on her way towards the Dwarf Mountain Pass. She boldly strode through the walkway, about to descend the staircase, before the dwarf said, “Hey, hey, hey! Where do you think YOU'RE going?” “In the pass of course,” Ruby stated simply. “No one passes without permission of the dwarves.” “But my mother, Adeluz, she--” “She's not with you at the moment, so you may not pass.” “But she can't come get me because the fishing contest is about to start at Hemenster and I have to meet her there!” “You shall not pass,” he stated firmly, brandishing his war hammer. “Fine,” she glared at him with silver eyes and continued towards the mountain entrance. Many of the druids had gone in for the night, but some still lingered at the Stone Henge. She hid behind a tree as a wolf began to approach her. It started to growl as it advanced on her, and she climbed the tree. “Oh, great,” she muttered and sprang from the tree branch, landing gracefully on her right foot, already sprinting at full speed. She could tear a wolf apart in seconds, but a pack of them could tear her apart in less than a second. She stumbled up the mountain and scrambled up a dead tree near the gnome glider. She pulled on one of the branches and slid into a dungeon. “Eek!” she shrieked as she fell into an icy dungeon. “Who goes there?!” someone yelled at slid over to Ruby on a pair of skis. “Freeski34! Who is it?” someone shouted from behind. “It's no one, 58. Just another non-member of the Fellowship,” the first one said. “Fellowship of what?” Ruby asked them. “Why, you don't know?” Another one skied in, who was known as Freeski273. “How come you all look the same?” Ruby asked, eyeing them all, “And what are those things on your feet?!” “Those,” said someone else, “are skis.” He came into the group, as they all parted, “And I am Freeski24, leader of this Fellowship. Who are you?” “I'm Ruby...“ she said, looking at them strangely. “Ruby who? Do you have a last name of some sort? Or some way I could recognize you..?” “Well um.. My last name is Smirkke, but it's not very well known, but my--“ she stopped herself. She didn't want to be known as Adeluz's daughter for eternity, “I um...” her mind was completely blank. The only thing she could think to say was something silly, and pointless, but she knew if she said it, and they recognized it, she’d be among friends, “Kah bah gee?” The members of the Fellowship all turned to Freeski24 who had turned quite pale. Chapter Three~ Random Adventure, Much? The Fellowship of Skis sat at a long table. Freeski24 sat at the head of the table, all of them looking almost exactly the same in their desert robes with yellow capes, gloves, and boots, along with an elemental shield. The purple from their glory amulets accented the purple flowers that each had laid in front of them. Ruby stood out with her dwarven clothing, bright red hair, and most of all, her shortness. She sat on her knees to seem taller than she actually was, but she still seemed very short. “How do you know about the Order?" Freeski24 asked Ruby. "I just do," she replied stubbornly, "So how do you know it?" "I was a member of course," he said. "So what happened?" she inquired, narrowing her eyes. "I'd rather not mention it," he stated simply. "Well I don't know where I'll get this information then!" "What information?" Ruby had been secretly wanting to know what the Order of Cabbage was for most of her life. Adeluz had always vaguely mentioned it, but always failed to elaborate on it. She never stated where they picked cabbage, why they did it, who lead them, who was in it, or anything else. "I should probably go..." Ruby finally said after a minute or so. The group was puzzled by her silence. "Well, good luck. Whatever you're doing. I'll let you take the emergency shoot to Catherby. Ciao!" He pulled a level and Ruby fell through a hole in the floor, as her chair zoomed through loops and tunnels. The chair ejected out of a hole by the water obelisk and sent her sprawling through the air. "Gah!" Ruby's arms flailed wildly as the chair flew out from underneath her. She landed with a splash in the water, surfacing a moment later. "I think it's a shark!" one of the fishers yelled, "A big one!" There was a large commotion, and where people would usually be running away, they were running towards her. "Eek!" she dodged harpoons that were thrust towards her and bumped into something rather large, "Pardon me, I was just dodging those--Aah!" she splashed backwards as a shark glared at her and opened it's jaw. "Jelleh! Hand me your harpoon!" a woman in the crowd shouted. Ruby could see nothing of this, she merely heard it, along with splashes and other yells. There was a noticeable whoosh of air above her head as a harpoon went flying into the shark. The woman stood with a bow in her hand as she and her partner hauled at the rope attached to the harpoon. The rope slipped from her partner's hand as he fell backwards onto the ground. The woman, still holding on immediately flew forward towards the water. Ruby remembered the runes and shot a blast towards the rope, disintegrating it. The woman fell short and landed face first into the shallow water. There was still the matter of the shark. "Well, I've never tried this before," Ruby said to herself, "But I hope it works." She positioned her hands behind her and summoned a water bolt that sent her flying forward, and sending the shark backwards. She landed in a pile on top of Jelleh, one of her rescuers. Ganon, the archer, came back soaked with seawater onto the land to greet them. She pulled a string of seaweed out of her brown hair. "Heh, um, sorry," Ruby said, standing up. "It's no problem," Ganon said to her, "Just a daily part of an adventurer's life." "Mind if you introduce yourselves? I'm Ruby, by the way." "I'm Ganon, and this is my partner in crime, Jelleh," she said gesturing to the person beside her. They seemed normal enough, but if only Ruby knew, "So what are you doing out this late anyway?" "Oh, I'm just exploring the nightscape. I don't get around this side too often by myself. I usually just hang around Falador," Ruby shrugged. “Well if you ever need any help, we’re always around,” Jelleh said. “Okay, well I might see you guys later, but I gotta hurry if I wanna see the sites! Bye! And thanks for your help,” Ruby smiled, waved, and ran to leave. After Ruby had left, Jelleh turned to Ganon, “She seems familiar somehow.” “De ja vu,” Ganon said blinking before they turned from the sea. Chapter Four~ The Question about Cabbage Arises Ruby dodged the many characters that passed her by. Some were strong, and some were weak, but she was among the weakest. The path of Seers’ Village was always crowded, and hard to navigate. She had no idea where she wanted to go next. Ardougne, or the Tree Gnome Stronghold? She was hungry, so she decided on pilfering some cakes from Ardougne, commonly known to the locals as "Ardy." The streets were crowded, as usual, with more people. People everywhere. It irked her slightly. It seemed to be one of the hot spots in the world, but it simply bored Ruby. She enjoyed the thrills of agility, whether she was facing the challenge of the Agility Arena in Brimhaven, or simply playing a game of Gnomeball or Skullball. She enjoyed engaging in action and adventure, unlike what she saw of her mother during the day. A farmer, herbalist, fisher... Seemingly all of the skills that seemed boring to Ruby. A small tune caught her ear. She glanced towards a flight of stairs near the silk stalls. A young, blonde boy, slightly older than herself, sat strumming a guitar, the case laid out in front of him with some coins strewn in it. "What are you playing?" she said, tossing a few coins in that she had pick-pocketed. "Oh.. You know, just whatever song comes to mind," he blew a strand of blonde hair out of his eyes. "Know any sites to see?" Ruby knew Gielinor well, but she didn't know if she had missed something. "Well there's always Castle Wars..." he said shrugging, "By the way, I'm Pingu, and you are..?" "Ruby Smirkke," she replied. "Sounds familiar... So are you heading over to the wars?" he asked, taking his guitar off of his lap. "Me? Fight in a war? Are you kidding? What do I look like?" she laughed. "Well.. Everyone is usually needed, you should try it out. I'll go with you.. so you can kind of get the hang of it." "Well.. I guess so," she shrugged, "I already know the rules of the game, so no need to explain." "Excellent," Pingu replied and with a clink of gold, tossed an emerald ring to her. Ruby caught it in her left hand, "Just rub it and choose Castle Wars." Ruby nodded, and rubbed the ring. "Ready?" he asked. "Let's go," she replied as they both teleported. The war was fairly eventful, with Pingu and Ruby working as an excellent team. They had helped to win the battle. "I never knew I could be that much help," Ruby said as they left the lobby. "I believe that mages and rangers are underestimated in their power. Rangers are so sneaky and quick that no one ever sees them coming. And mages have so much power hidden behind their robes that they could obliterate someone in seconds." "Yeah.." Ruby said. "Well, you wanna visit my uncles for dinner?" Pingu asked. "You eat dinner this late?" "We don't have enough time to eat it any earlier," he grinned. "Okay, whatever." They arrived at a fairly large home in Ardougne. Pingu opened the door. "Oh em gee! You look so hawt with that p hat on!" someone shouted from inside. "I own the stile, yo!" someone else replied. "Keep it down! Do you want someone to hear your meaningful babble?" another admonished. "Uh.." Pingu grinned nervously at Ruby, "Bloo, Trojann, Sunny, I brought a guest." "I'm a guest!" Bloo said jumping down the stairs, tripping over her long, blue skirt. "We know.." Sunny and Trojann replied. There was a long silence for some reason before Trojann shouted, "Bloo is hot!" "Okay, yeah. No one says that anymore," Sunny said, not being his usual, sunny self. The group was immediately saddened. Ruby's eyes lingered to a long picture where many people were posed. It was a rather large image of many people all wearing similar black robes. Most of them have capes, staves, chef hats. There was someone being attacked by a small dog, someone standing by vast amounts of money, a farmer, a painter, all sorts of people. "There's me!" Bloo said, pointing to a blue-haired girl. "And that's me!" Trojann said, pointing to someone in a white party hat. "Why are you picking your nose?" Ruby asked. "Uh.. I'm not." "What's up with the blue-haired lady?" Ruby whispered to Pingu. "Oh.. She hasn't been the same since.. well... The whole.." "The cabbage ordeal," Sunny said, folding his arms. There was an intense silence. A heavy tension swept across the room in an instant. "Cabbage eh?" Ruby followed up, "Haven't seen one of those in a while." "That because it was all destroyed!" Sunny started to become furious. Trojann covered his mouth, "No it wasn't! It wasn't! Cabbage exists! It's real! Don't talk about the cabbage, Sunny! Dooooon't!!!!" Ruby looked at the picture again, and noticed something she hadn't seen before. There was a red-headed girl with a black bandana over her head, and a patch on her right eye. She had a hook for a hand and held a staff in her left, "Who's that?" she pointed to her immediately. "That? Who's that?" Trojann looked at the picture, "How should I know? Ask Addy, I'm sure he knows. Pirates and such.. Or Barbossa." Sunny eyed them all, "If you want to know more about the Order of Cabbage," he said, "You'd better find someone who wasn't changed by what happened that day." At this point, Trojann and Bloo seemed to be a bit frantic. Pingu felt uneasy, "Sorry, Ruby. It'd be best if you left, they don't like to talk about the cabbage anymore." Ruby trudged out of the door. It was shut immediately behind her. This madness over cabbage had made her curious. She wanted to know what had happened that day. Whatever day they were talking about. Pirates he had said. Addy and Barbossa? Pirates had to be on the sea... Brimhaven. She started to run towards the port in Ardougne, snagging some coins here and there. She boarded a ship to sail to Brimhaven. All would have gone well if the ship wasn't attacked by pirates. Pretty outfits! ![]() My frivolous Mage gear. There's a magic(t) amulet to it, too. ![]() I worked for days for this gear, and I've only used it to kill Elvarg. Cool. ![]() My skilling gear. It's lightweight and cute. ![]() I can finally fit into Rune. I was in Black (t) for quite a while. RIP Pure. That's it for now. Love you!
