Mistymaple![]() Wheeee! That's me, up there ^ In Lumbridge Patch in fact! Became an Acolyte: 14th May 2006 Became an Overseer: 23rd September 2006 Became an Elder: 3rd February 2007 Became a Past Member: 14th May 2008 Misty's life history... Misty was a reeeeaaly cute kitten once, along with her sister Maple. When a young this-Misty-not-the-kitten-Misty stumbled upon the world of the internet, she decided that she needed a screename... what better than the names of her two cats! Well maybe I could've come up with something better, but still, Mistymaple's stuck. Over the years I've also been called Misty, Maple, Maply, MM, Mistyums, and other random abbreviations. I stumbled across the OoC after seeing Blipo's (or was it Bilbo's?) sig on RS Bits and Bytes forum, then joined these forums and dropped a few PMs to current members and eventually found my way to the Patch! A month or so later I was inducted, and actually screamed out loud in real life. Naturally, my family know about the OoC. I spent that whole summer picking, bombing, attending parties and making friends. It was awesome I really loved the community and invented the idea of the Patch Dispatch (not the title, Iggy claims that) and was made an Overseer in September. The next few months were a pretty tough time in real life. I'd started a new college (last two years of school here in Britain) and reached the sad conclusion that the friends I'd had for the last five years wouldn't be my friends forever. You're so naive at fifteen... Therefore, I spent my evenings picking. Lots. I thought about the OoC when walking to school and doodled OoC stuff during my lessons. I really loved it and in late January two of the people I most respected left the cult, leaving a gap in the Elder chair.Ta da! Allie and I became the first female Elders and I was so pleased that the cult thought enough of me to give me this responsibilty. By now the Patch Dispatch was a huge success, containing stories, poems, puzzles and pictures written or drawn or created my Recruits, Acolytes and higher members. Every morning of the 7th, I'd set my alarm slightly earlier and bring my breakfast up here while I published the cult's newspaper. Each milestone of cabbage was reached successfully, and following each milestone was an enormous party and celebration. I loved the evenings when the entire cult came together and laughed at the Patch. People describe their clans as their family, and as one wise now Past member said, "I felt that if I was ever hanging off a cliff, that someone at the Patch would come along and help me up." True words. Since then a lot has happened to me in my real life. I came to the OoC, recently dumped (yeah, sad story :P) and seeking somewhere that contained like minded people that I could spend time with. I wished for fun and happiness and to feel joy whilst colelcting something which seems so insignificant in the big wide world. I found it here. Over the past year or few months some of my real life dreams have been accomplished and over the past two years I think that I've 'grown up' (not height wise, still 148cm) and learnt things about myself whilst picking almost daily. Whoever says the Internet doesn't teach you anything is a very wrong person. I've made the most amazing friends and can trust a huge number of you. Heck, you probably know more about me than I do! I've realised that there's so much more of the world to discover and am sure there's lots more to come for that little Misty to explore. Including that bus to get me to my English Lit lesson which I'm now gonna be late for <_< Sooo, love, smile, dream. Kah Bah Gee! Am I allowed to give myself a little heart?
