Bonnie Wright has remained somewhat in the background of the films so far being bought gradually forward as the movies progress. As Ginny's character is firmly bought forward in the OOTP book will the same happen with Bonnie in the film? Judging buy the pre publicity shots and posters it seems probable. So anyway, what's there to say about the ... ahem ... Bonnie lass that plays the littlest Weasley? |

I really like her very much. She is a very sweet, pretty young lady. The few times I saw her in interviews (GoF era) she was kind, polite and nice. Unfortunately, we have not seen much of her until now, and I am afraid she won´t be that much in the OotP movie either. I heard speculation that she was more in the script and even some scenes got shot, but they seemed to have cut that out a lot in the movie. (From what I heard from pre-screening reports). That is really a pity. I think Ginny will be of incredible importance in DH, not only as the hero´s LI. She does stand as a strong character of her own. But even in her purpose as Harry´s LI, OotP was an immensely important book to show the evolving of that romance. That was the book where she finally came into her own. The scene in the Library when Harry confesses in her that he wants to talk to Sirius, and the scene at Christmas at GP, when Ginny manages to pull Harry out of his 'I am possessed by LV' misery are central scenes for her character, for the book and for the Harry/Ginny relationship. But from what I´ve heard they don´t have these scenes in the movie. *grumble*. It is a double-pity, since it would have been a good way for Bonnie to hone her acting skills (she has not had much opportunity until now), before she really becomes central in HBP. |

I watched the movies first, so Bonnie Wright is who mostly comes to mind when I think Ginny. But, she hasn't had much screen time, and I can't really say what she'd be like as Ginny in OoTP. But, if it's anything like the poster suggests, wow! It's a pity that the Ginny scenes are going to be cut out. However, Ginny has been steadily gaining importance since GoF movie. If Bonnie's getting more screen time, I'll be glad. |

I can't really make a judgement on her acting ability, since she hasn't been given much to work with yet. But, with the few scenes she was in in GOf, she seemed to do really well, so I'm not worried. I expect she'll have more screentime in OOTP than she's had in the previous films. In fact, just being in the ministry scene alone would be more screentime than she's ever had, so add to that the additional scenes with the DA and the Weasleys and it should be good. The reports from the preview screenings were promising. Apparently she was in quite a few scenes and was shown to be powerful, though she didn't have many lines. I just hope her lines weren't sacrificed for someone like that random kid who talked about the Grim in POA or "Nigel" (who for some unknown reason has returned for this movie). |
