| Welcome to The Podge. "The Podge" is short for Hodge-Podge, as we are a role play with no distinct theme or setting. We thrive on creativity and the beginning and ending of plots and stories. These can be set in stone or be written at a moment's notice - wherever the story takes us. How to Join Hello! If you're interested in joining us here at The Podge, there's a couple of things you need to do first: 1. You must read and understand our rules and guidelines (read them here). 2. Register an account! You must have admin approval and validate your email - you are allowed to have only one account: so make sure you choose a name you like! If you have any questions, then post them on our Questions and Suggestions forum. Join our community! If you're already a member please log in to your account to access all of our features: |

When it comes to posting OOCly -- that is, in an Out of Character setting, like the general boards -- we do expect a certain amount of maturity from our members as far as behavior is concerned. Those who break these simple rules more than once will find themselves facing an appropriate punishment. You will be warned twice if you have broken a rule, lightly at first, harder the second time. Break the rules a third time and, depending on the severity of it, you will face a temporary ban from the boards. Those who continue to break the rules will be IP banned from the Elemental altogether. The admins do not like having to do this, so please follow the rules to the best of your abilities. They are easy enough to follow and you shouldn't need to make up excuses for breaking them. I. Treat other players with respect! Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. This means: -Extremely controversial subjects are best avoided for the sake of keeping the peace. -Don't argue with administrators and moderators if you receive a warning. II. Tables, Avatars and Signatures: Do not use obscene or graphic avatars or images in your signature. If you choose to use an image in your signature, it must be less than 500 pixels wide by 250 pixels tall. You may not have more than ten buttons in your signature. In Character Rules I. No power playing or god moding (PP/GM). Power playing is when you control someone Else's character, and god moding is when your character is essentially "perfect," especially in battle. II. No Perfect Characters. They are so beautiful/handsome that all of the other characters' hearts flutter at the sight of them. They have no flaws whatsoever. These are not allowed. It's not perfect characters that are fun to role play with. it's those that have flaws that you can portray and act out that make things fun. III. Use proper grammar and spelling. As this is a semi-advanced site, you are expected to use proper grammar to the best of your ability and spelling at all times when you are roleplaying. It's ok if you let it slide when OOC, but not when you're IC. So basically, I'll say no chatspeak (u, ur, 4 instead of for, etc.) when IC. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask for help. IV. Post minimum: 75 words, roughly. This is a friendly site for everyone but 75 words should not be too much trouble. If you need help feel free to PM the admin account and we will be happy to help you increase your word count. V. Crowded threads... If there are more than two players in an RP thread, then don't leave anyone behind. That is just inconsiderate and annoying. Try to stay active in your thread so you don't hold others back. VI. Character Death If you are going to attempt to kill another character, you must inform an administrator of the attempt. When it comes to roleplaying murders, fights, or anything that could involve the death of a character, be realistic. VII. Remain active! If you don't reply to activity checks (you won't be warned by email) your character(s) will be deleted or put up for adoption. Usually, activity checks happen once every month or two. Also, try to post at least once a week twice would be preferred! But we also know everyone leads very busy lives.. so for the most part try and keep active, but we will mostly be laid back. A side note If the need arises that you do not want to role play one of your characters anymore there are a few options available to you. 1. You can put your character up for adoption This is probably one of the easiest things to do, especially if you would like the character to stay in the role play. 2. You can role play your character's death. This option is nice if we are having a plot where characters are going to die. And it's pretty nice if your character is insane or old, they could throw themselves from a cliff or die quietly in the plains. 3. Your last option is to have them “disappear” or leave. Just have them walk off, or act as though they had never existed. |
