I'm not one for promoting such things, but if you happen to smoke reefer and you don't play disc golf... you should.

It's very laid back. You're in the woods with other folks just trying to toss discs. You will rarely run into people who don't stop to talk and be civil and most usually share a little ganjabuds with. The challenge comes from all different sorts of courses, discs, and game variants. It's like Halo only with really hard, expensive Frisbees.

There are tons of different shots.

What I'm saying is that it's fun and you should try it.

Yea I play, been to 6 different courses within about 100 miles of where I live.

I prefer ultimate though. I always feel weird hucking a frisbee after throwing discs.

I overshot the pin twice today, no aces but considering the length of the shots alone it would be safe to say I moved my team up for birdies like crazy. They were a Par 3 and a 4 so you know they were good shots lol. So do you fuck with the crazy shots at all? Like the Tomahawk throw or the upside-down cross-step-havin' side shot with reverse spins or whatnot. You know how some dudes get with it.

Why do you need weed to make disc golf fun? It's disc golf! You throw discs! At targets far away! What more do you need? Yes indeed, I do enjoy an impromptu game of disc golf. I've never been to a proper course, but it really doesn't matter with that type of game. You just choose a target, pick a beginning spot and then fire away with your friends. For us it's usually an electric pole.

Swarthmore has a very dedicated ultimate frisbee group. I never really got into it myself. I can just about barely get an accurate frisbee throw within ten yards, and I can't even forehand. Floaters or hammer throws? Forget it. I'm just about useless when it comes to hitting or throwing non-human objects, you see.

Xantarcube: Dragon, I need you to render a thief. She should be a 15-year old girl with ninja-like abilities and a knife. Try to give her a badass pose, too.
Dragon of DTT: Ok. How's this? http://www.purevideogames.net/images/Character_Art/thief_full.jpg
Mortal Kombat: Dragon. Wins. L33tality!

Dragon of DTT: Don't complain. Buy a hooker.
Xantarcube: What am I going to do with a hooker?
Dragon of DTT: Wii Sports.

Shadyshark: but adrienne may be pregnant
Shadyshark: or have cancer
Shadyshark: she's hoping for cancer

Seriously. Even I'm in my signature. Fix yours.

Don't need it to make anything fun. It's fun though, let me tell ya haha. Disc Golf is definitely fun either way, I've played every day this week and probably will tomorrow too. Hell, I won't smoke tomorrow so I can get a recalibration and check how I throw without it :).

Maybe this can be one of your contests? There's gotta be a DG flash game somewhere.

I wouldn't say you need weed to play disc golf anymore than you need popcorn at the movies.
Some things just go well together...

But anyways, I usually go with the backhand throw in disc golf, and the flick for ultimate. But the thing I really like about disc golf is there tends to be more strategic applications to throwing the disc with different techniques.

The other throws have their uses, some in a more novelty kind of sense. A hammer really is an easy throw, but its not an easy catch. I can't tell you how many ultimate games I have seen with 7-10 turnovers between scores because people insist on throwing hammers.

I like ultimate better because I like the running, and I work better with competition. The biggest thrill I have had in sports was pulling a Callahan Reverse while playing ultimate (basically that means intercepting a pass thrown from a player leaping out of bounds.) Plus watching some players throws and lay-outs can get pretty exciting.

The thing that makes disc golf more universally appealing is that you can be inventive with your throws, and you can go at your own pace.

I have fun playing both. Just not maybe back to back or anything. The throws are just different, and it always screws me up switching discs. Like a flick usually veers right in disc golf will veer left in ultimate.

I love me some horseshoes.

We have a "frisbee golf" course in the park like two minutes from my house. Never played on it and I assume its the same thing as disc golf, but I've only heard it called frisbee golf. I might try one day. I mean it would pretty much just be me and a friend, both completely sober throwing frisbees at the holes... but I guess it could be fun.

Xantar: And for your information, I didn't call on any minions. They got into this on their own, and they seem to be having a blast.

Marci: Screw you too, I'm not your minion.

Xantar: Also, Makokam is not my minion. Just thought I'd point that out.

Its funny you say that. I think sports do have a strange way of emasculating men.

Like wrestlers wearing tights and hugging other men.

I dunno, maybe its a thought for another day.

Sparta.

Speaking of which, the Spartans played horseshoes. Except they threw horses at spears insteads of shoes at stakes.

After I have sex I usually have a juice box... Maybe some kool-aid.

Nice. A juice box? There's a picture in that collage I posted somewhere of me and a girl sitting on my bed and there's definitely a juice box on my dresser right next to it. So yeah, Slap.

Juice box.
