FC Triple Bullit

Next I would like to tell you about a more current hound named FC Triple Bullit. He is owned by Mike Nix, of Memphis, Tennessee, phone (901) 767-2117, and Nicky Pinson of 3715 BlackRoad, Springfield, TN 37172, phone (615) 384-8144. Since Nicky Pinson has this hound and is taking him to trials, I phoned him about Bullit. Here is how our phone conversation went.

Rev. Parks: "I appreciate you calling me back. I wanted to talk to you about Bullit and the other hounds you have with Pudge in their bloodline.

Nicky Pinson: Fine, Bullit is a good hound. I'd be glad to tell you about him.

Rev. Parks: I'll put his pedigree in here for the readers so they can follow our discussion. http://www.espomagazine.com/pedigrees/1647.htm cg

Rev. Parks: Bullit is sired by FC Triple C Buckshot, isn't he? I talked to Doug Cox about him. Who owns the dam, Triple C Kay?

Nicky Pinson: Doug Cox owns her too. In fact, he just made the cross again. Bullit has seven crosses of Blue K Pudge, six crosses of FC Short's Banker Boogie, 2 crosses of Fambro's Boy George, four crosses of Chapman's Buzz Bomb, and nine crosses of FC Delro Ringo.

Rev. Parks: That's interesting. How many were in the litter that Bullit was in, and where are the others in the litter?

Nicky Pinson: I think there were six, but I don't know about the others. The litter was whelped July 5, 1996. Mike Nix bought Bullit from Doug Cox in May of 1999. He ran Bullit a little and Vern Stepp worked Bullit for two months. Then Bullit placed third in the field and first in the show at Beaver Lake's UBGF Licensed trial October 10, 1999. He went on to get a first at Nocalula SPO Deep South Licensed trial October 29, 1999, and second at Okaw Valley SPO UBGF licensed trial November 14, 1999, and NBQ at Music City SPO licensed trial December 18, 1999 and third at North Alabama SPO Deep South licensed trial on December 19, 1999. Then I bought half interest in Triple Bullit on January 17, 2000. I have been running and handling Bullit since buying half interest. Since then, Bullit has gotten a fourth at Southwind SPO UBGF licensed trial on February 6,2000, a third at King City Gundog Brace trial on March 26, 2000, a first in the field and a first in the bench show at Wheeler Lake SPO UBGF licensed trial April 9, 2000, and he was the Grand Final Runner-up, second at the AKC SPO National Championship April 15,2000. Triple Bullit has all of his points and just needs a first place win to finish as a field champion. [That first would come at Lake City. cg]

Rev. Parks: That's an impressive record. Describe how Bullit runs for me.

Nicky Pinson: Bullit is loaded with hunt and so he really searches good. He tries to stay up under a rabbit and keep him going. If he has to track he will, but generally he keeps the rabbit moving and it doesn't have time to pull any doubles or other funny business.

Rev. Parks: What kind of mouth (voice) does he have?

Nicky Pinson: It's a high pitched squall/chop with his head down.

Here's the picture from that article. Photo was taken in October 1999.
