I have a female that is 13 1/2 inches, long body, 2 yrs and 8 months old has had one litter of 6 pups, no problems, was bred back after skipping a heat cycle to the same male, 12 1/2 inches. This time she had the pups at 58 days, was bred one time, she got plenty of exercise. She was not over fed or under fed. The first 5 were ok the next 3 were dead. It took a pretty long time for the dead ones to come out. I used to raise cattle and some breeds are what they call hard calfer's, you would wind up always having to pull the calf. I am now wondering if this same problem run's in dogs as well as cattle. |
