I disagree with Rabbit Hunter 1952. Size does make a difference. If the female is small boned and weak in the hindquarters breeding her to a larger type male could make her have trouble delivering her pups and result in weakening her, thus making her have a longer recovery time. That's why back in the olden times when there were arranged marriages the grooms parents looked for a bride with wide hips. This was thought that there would be less trouble birthing them babies.
