12 1/4 inches Now in West TN. Fee: $200.00
Fd. Ch. Gilkey's Postoak Ceasar
Sire: Fd. Ch. Postoak Little Nip Otis X Fd. Ch. Hilltop Freckles
Ceasar finished in tough circumstances and according to Eric Autrey he stayed in the pack and proved he has a big nose, brains, and enough power to hold his position. Eric said, "when they got rough Ceasar stayed where he belonged and come up with the rabbit from the inside". He is quick on the check and has a course chop/squall mouth that is a pleasure to hear. He will not run a deer. Ceasar has great kennel manners and he is a pleasure to handle.
One of the best bred sons of F.C. Postoak Little Nip Otis who won the A K C National and son of F. C. Hilltop Freckles who won both the A K C National and U B G F National. That makes him triple national championship bred. His Pedigree is star studded with great producers. He has 3 crosses of H.O.F. Fd. Ch. Rob's Diamond up close. Rob's Diamond is a Great Grandson of H.O.F. "Great" Chapman's Buzz Bomb. We owned Buzz Bomb and had him at Stud from 1980 to 1989. Buzz Bomb was the most consistent little male I have owned. He was the same every time you took him to the field regardless of conditions. We are still basing our foundation on this once in a life time top producer of great rabbit hounds.
This is our first time to promote a stud dog since 1989. We will breed our own females to this little male. Ceasar has some derbies coming up that look good out of a very limited amount of breedings.
Contact: Joe W. Eaton (Double J Beagles) 9265 Cherrywood Avenue, McKenzie, TN. 38201 Ph. 731-352-7719 or 731-234-1120

P.s. Someone request me to elaborate on Ceasar concerning his running ability. I have just begun to get him in shape. He hunts good. Refuses to run deer. He has a big nose, opens quick on a check but is clean with his mouth, He has a coarse rolling chop-squall mouth that he keeps rolling as long Mr. rabbit keeps moving and he is on the line. He checks close, has patience, and has the ability to know where the check is. He runs with what ever speed he is running with. He can drive a line and hold on to it as long as any hound and keeps the line between his legs. Rough poping off hounds don't seem to bother him. He stays close and usually pulls the check out of the middle of the pack. His quickness is impressive. I ran him Saturday with three other good close little females and he dominated the pack. One of those females is a double Pro and she is tough. Hopefully, I can get him back in top condition, get off the fat and enter him in some of the big trials. Thanks for asking. Serious breeders should consider his producing power. His Pedigree is second to none and he is as well a bred Otis male as you will find. See his pedigree on espomagazine.com/

Hey Joe is it really true, that two little 13" females by the names of Simmons Little Zebra and Simmons Satin Silk, taught Ole Buzz how to run a rabbit?

Terry, the only person that would know anything like that is a fellow named T. Stone. You know, you might have something there on that. Rudy, always believed that Trail Blazer taught Buzz. I miss that old guy. He was a friend to me. You knew he use to come down two or three times a year and stay with me a week and we would run dogs, before and after Buzz passed. Anyway, those two could not of hurt Buzz that's for sure. Call me sometime and we will chat. If it were not for you I would have never known about Buzz being for sale. I am writing a book and Hounds and Hunting are printing some of my stories in it. Are you still running Beagles? My E- Mail address is joe1944@charter.net My phone is on my ad. God Bless You My Friend, Joe

Congratulations to Joe Rivers and Jerry Rivers of South Carolina, they have three litters of little Caesar's on the way. Yes, and Jerry Rivers bought a female pup out of a great cross Caesar and a Crank's Chicken female.

Thanks to Hounds and Hunting advertising and the S P O Board, we now have 12 scheduled breedings as soon as the little female beagles get ready.

Double J Beagles wants to thank you all for the phone calls, e-mails and for you confidence in our breeding program. It won't be long until we will see some results at the trials. Thanks to those who have suggested to others that they consider Caesar in their breeding program.

Now, we are waiting for our own females that we have left to show signs of coming in season.

We have purchased F.C. Post Oak Caesar (Casar) from Mr. Frank Dixon as of a few weeks back. He will be here at Double J Beagles for some time. Thanks to Mr. Dixon
for his confidence in us to wait for 8 months and allow us to have him on an agreement which he and I made. Frank Dixon is a man of his word and we have proven that we will do what we say.

Double J Beagles

Thanks to many who have called. We do have another Congradulation or two.
Congradulations to Mr. Dan Sidwell from Illinois. He purchased the last two pups available out of F.C. Post Oak Caesar and Traci (She is a Thorn Gap Female.) Mr. Sidwell got a male and female.

Many have called wanting pups, all out as of March 3, 08. We will have some available hopefully in May and I have just got three females from Mr. Wayne Thompson that are the best of his breeding. One is a derby. I will be breeding the other two as soon as they come in seaspm. They are nice black and tan, small and one of them is double F.C. bred. The other one will be her mother needs a win to finish. We should have long derbies out of them. Both have chop mouths. The derby needs some rabbit tracks but looks good. I will be trialing her soon.

Congradulations to Mr. Ryan Otto on purchasing a female pup out of Caesar and the Thorn Gap female Traci on Mar. 1,2008.

Flash News Report: Many have asked, how many females has been bred to Post Oak "Caesar". Now that we own Caesar, A K C has released that information to me. Before I got Caesar last June there were only five females bread to Caesar and the oldest litters were out of 3 females that Hill Crest Kennels produced. According to Harold Langdon, he sold all of them to big hunters but not field trial people. I contacted two of those people that he told me about and there was none of them that would sell any of them. Eric and Lynn Autry of So. Ga. have a male about 20 mos. old that they will be putting in licensed trials out of "Caesar" they are high on his ability. A fellow who does not trial from South Carolina has two females out of "Caesar" and a Tiny Bull female that are good ones. None of these first five litters have gone to trials yet as far as I can find out.
I have raised 3 litters of pups and the oldest ones are three months old. They are all beautiful pups, ask anyone who has one. They are all sold but 3 that I have that are just 8 wks. (Not for Sale) We should know something next year. I have two litters coming in S. Carolina and many who are just waiting for their females to come in season. I have a litter due next month. Three more to be bred soon.
Just thought I would answer that question.

Ive got an 8 month old male out of Caesar that a buddy tried to buy from me yesterday but I wouldnt price him because I knew I wasnt gonna sell him.

From what Ive seen so far I like everything about him.

He's a great looking pup with lots of black on him, a machine gun chop mouth, bold and friendly, and he has one thing that I really like which is hunt.

Ive had very few pups that hunted for a rabbit as hard as he does at his age.

If you ever make the same cross as my pup again please let me know because Ill take another one just like him.

Thank You for the kind words about your Caesar Pup, Freddie. This same litter has two other pups that I heard from in Illinois and Mr. Sidwell is please with the two pups that he has that are brother and sister to your pup. Ryan Otto has the other one and they are excited about her. There were six in this litter and at this time there is only three living. Just got an e-mail from Mr. Sidwell and the female was 9 mos. old and he wormed his pups but then had to rush to the vet. Vet said, his worm med. was too old and try as they may he lost the female but still has the male. He was sure sick about it, he said, "she was doing so great." However, he came and bought another Caesar female that was about 5 mos. old. Good luck with this one. Mr. Sidwell said, both of the pups were hard hunters, and stayed with the rabbit and had great mouths that were clean.
THANK YOU BOTH FOR YOUR REPORT.

F.C. Gilkey's Post Oak Casar has been sold. He is now in South Carolina and he is owned by Joe Rivers. Casar is a fine hound and still runs great like a F.C. should. I have only bred him 12 times and only two of those breedings were someone other than my own females. He has produced an average of 6 pups per litter and an average of 3 have lived in each litter. Three pups have made it to trials so far and all three made the second series and one made the second series. This was pups not a year old and they were running in all age trials. One placed 3rd. Good luck to a fine young beagle man.

Thanks Joe Eaton for selling me Caesar. Thanks for the words of encouragement and great knowledge you have gave me. Maybe i can retain half of it and be alright. :D . Caesar is everything Joe said he was and more. I have 2 female that are about 1 year old and my dad has a male and female about 15 months old. They have great talent. Straight ahead line control, Hunt , and brains. I liked the pups so much i had to own Caesar because i like what he is producing. He was 600 miles from me one way. I could'nt take to many more of those trips. So i bought him. Im going to breed all my female to him. I know he will produce. Come watch him run and see for yourself. Give me a call.
