What is the size difference a person could breed two beagles and not get into any problems. I have a 12 inch female that has had two previous litters and i'm thinking of breeding her to a 14 1/2 inch male.

the only bad thing about breeding a small gyp to a big male is if the pups are big and have trouble coming out which would result in a c-section. Not sure how much they charge where you are at but they charge $1000 where im at and i try to steer around that.

It won't hurt a thing! The size of the pup at birth depends on how you care for the bitch. Over feed her-you get big pups.
Breed a St Benard to a beagle you might have problems but 2 1/2 inch's?? C'mon! ^o)

I disagree with Rabbit Hunter 1952. Size does make a difference. :) If the female is small boned and weak in the hindquarters breeding her to a larger type male could make her have trouble delivering her pups and result in weakening her, thus making her have a longer recovery time. That's why back in the olden times when there were arranged marriages the grooms parents looked for a bride with wide hips. This was thought that there would be less trouble birthing them babies.

I went ahead and made the cross, no problem at all. She had 6 and they all lived.
