As days keep going by and the economy getting worse, I keep getting set back. If I'm gonna get my PCB into a cabinet, I need to find a way of making more money. I got a new side project I'm gonna finish and someday hopefully get patented.

Sorry to hear about the set backs. I hope you find a way to get this done. You have a whole board behind you on this project :)

Noooooooooo... no.

Too bad. You should have, if your school offered it.

No no no. I had to go through it with junior high, and I bloody hated it. I honestly thought one of my appendages would be sliced off every day I got near those blasted machines, and the instructor intimidated me as well... indirectly, that is. He never had any beefs with me, but he still gave me the jeeblies.

Rob, lemme make a fact about me known: Unless it's a video game controller, I am extremely clumsy with tools and appliances to the point where it's pitifully laughable. I couldn't even maneuver this ice cream scoop I used today in a favorable manner! I drop stuff frequently, I'm paranoid around dangerous equipment, and I'm rather accident prone. No major accidents have ever thankfully occurred... and I intend to keep that standard.

Allow me to condense what I just said in this phraseology: "Dammit Jim, I'm a writer, not a construction worker!" :lol

Over a year late, but you shoulda used one of my all time Transformers quotes, from one of my all time favourite characters.

"I'm a doctor not a forklift!" -Wreckgar

OH YEAH: How is this going?

I finished the side project but don't have it patented yet. It's a boardgame with an idea no one has ever thought of, since I don't have it patented yet I'm kinda scared of saying what it's about because someone could use my idea to make their own boardgame with it. I trust Rob so I might PM him what my boardgame is about sometime and when I get it patented, I'll tell everybody!

I too have been getting very impatient with life sucking my money out of me when I get it to where I can't save any. My job has been at least more fair to me lately so I should use my money to get myself an attorney so I can get it patented whenever I can. I'm making a vow right now on this forum that I will not buy an Xbox 360 or the new Splatterhouse game until I get the arcade cabinet in my house. Another thing I don't have to do but I'm doing it to keep me on this project is not emulate the arcade game on my computer, since I have the PCB I have the 100% legal right to emulate it but I refuse to because I want the real thing that bad.

Have you researched and verified that? Boardgames have been around for centuries and I'd hate for you to be discouraged if and when you find out your idea isn't as original as you thought. I started developing a tile-laying boardgame before realizing how many tile-laying games there are on the market, let alone in boardgame history (that's not to say I gave up on it, though).

I searched all over the internet and never found any board game with the same theme or idea as mine.

Can't get another job, every job around that I applied for aren't giving me a call. So I'm stuck as a janitor for who knows how much longer. I also got my dad interested in my project, we've been thinking of making an improved board structure of the board game this spring since the best I have to present is a plank of board with painted spaces and writing burnt in with a soder iron.
