I kicked the ass of Rockman Megaworld (Mega Man: The Wily Wars in Europe) by whomping all three games AND the Wily Tower as well. Although I prefer the NES versions' sound, the graphics were definitely awesomer here.

A bit of a while ago, I beat Kirby: Canvas Curse. A damn fun game, if not a bit taxing in the latter levels. More recently, I finished Portal, and I knew I'd love it. Hell, even my brother thinks the game rules as well! :D

I just beat Elite Beat Agents on the DS at normal difficulty in one go. Ouch, my arm is killing me. I think I must have lost 1 ton of sweat.

Welp, I have kicked the ass of Half-Life 2 and its respective expansions, Episode One (which I subtitle "Escape From City 17") and Episode Two (or "Heaven Can Wait," in reference to the big portal in the sky). And just a few hours ago, I kicked Dead Rising's total ass. What a blast that was. I just can't help wonder where I'd go from here as far as the XBOX 360 is concerned.

I may like SF2 a little more, but that's as far as I go. Don't get your hopes up for anything further. :smug

A little more, but not much.

Fair enough. :)

But let me pose this query: Would you rather play a fighter or a graphic adventure title?

Depends on what the graphic adventure title is.

Depends on what the graphic adventure title is.

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis? *chuckle* :D

I'm just diddling you. But if you had the choice of choosing a title like a game on the Scumm engine or one where you can just fight someone for a few quick matches, I'd wager you would go for the latter.

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 (Xbox Live Arcade)

Initially, I had quite a bit of criticism on this one, but upon playing it more, I found out that it's actually pretty fun. Although not quite as good as Mercs/Commando 2, it was still a pretty damn fun experience once I got used to it and a real blast on 2 player. Was a little too hectic with 3 people, but this is a lot of fun if you're just doing co-op with a body.

1942: Joint Strike (Xbox Live Arcade)

Loved this one. Very fun, very competent sequel to the old 194X games. Although not my favorite in the series (that still belongs to 1941: Counterattack), I think it was very well worth the 10 dollars.

Armored Core 4 (Xbox 360)

Somewhat disappointing for an AC game. Seemed to be lacking in parts and missions to do. I will praise it, however, for adding a lot of fast-paced action to the series. I must also criticize it for that, however, as it changed things up a little too much and lost some of the "core" in the process. Still a fun game, and worth a budget price, but definitely wasn't worth the 60 I spent to get it new back when it came out... I regret not playing it until now.

Ninja Five-0 (GBA)

Kind-of like Bionic Commando meets Shinobi on the GBA. Relatively unheard of, but good, nonetheless. I wasn't as excited as I've seen a few people be over this one, but I will agree it deserves some of the praise it gets from fans. If you're a fan of either, it's worth checking out.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor (GBA)

Finally went back, restarted, and finished this one. When I had played it before, I got so close to the end that I'm surprised I quit. Probably Treasure's finest GBA game (which is both good and somewhat of a shame, I expected more out of Gunstar Super Heroes), it can be frustrating, but it's worth finishing. Made me get back into Astro Boy again. Don't know why I like android stories so much

Braid (Xbox Live Arcade)

Innovative gameplay, goregous artwork, a beautiful, yet melancholy plot, and a moving soundtrack all come together exceptionally well in this short, but unforgettable title. While this didn't quite make it to be my favorite XBLA game (that's reserved for Omega Five), it's a great game, nonetheless. It's a puzzle/platformer with a time traveling gimmick, for those interested, and is slightly reminiscent of Mario, in a few ways. Although the price is a bit steep for an XBLA game, it's worth it for an experience you won't soon forget.

Painkiller (PC)

Very straightforward FPS where you pretty much do nothing but kill everything. No collecting keys, no pushing switches, no solving complicated puzzles, no getting lost, no intricate story, just good old-fashioned carnage. Not the best game I've ever played, but for what it is, it's pretty dang good.

R-Type 2 (PS1/Arcade)

HAHAHAHAHA, I BEAT IT MOTHER FUCKERS!
Take that you fucking game! Now we know who's boss! ME! :lol Definitely one of the hardest games I've beaten, and I feel pretty accomplished about this one. It's unreal how completely easy the later R-Types seem, by comparison. Sotenga, looks like you've gotta catch up and beat this one now :evil

-------------------------------------

And that brings my total, this year, up to 60. I've still got my work cut out for me if I'm going to break 100 new games this year.

Oooh, I can't list all of mine, but I've just finished Akumajou Densetsu four times in as many days. I single-credited it each time, and my best score was 176,770 (getting 3 levels into the 2nd loop before I carked it). Addictive stuff! :)

Ah, to be an unemployed student...
