Assorted NES games (mostly Shadowgate), Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice (DS), No More Heroes (Wii), Lords of Thunder (Wii/VC, wrote about it in the games you've beaten thread), and Pokemon: Diamond Version (DS).

Most of the NES games were given to me by my friend in Arizona, and there are quite a few cool ones in there. Shadowgate is the one that I'm most enjoying, the trial and error "die in a billion fucking ways" gameplay is actually really quite endearing, I love it. Anyone who's played this game knows what I'm talking about. I remember playing the game when I was younger and being scared shitless of it, I even remembered the cartridge art to this day... so I had to play it again. Considering it's a text adventure on the NES, it's a surprisingly well done game, much better than Maniac Mansion's NES port (which is another game I got from him, and had also played before, albeit more recently and on an emulator).

As far as Apollo Justice goes, I already wrote on that in this thread - http://z4.invisionfree.com/The_Third_Moon/...?showtopic=6928

No More Heroes on the Wii is pretty great, although I've hardly played it. It's unfortunately not quite as insane as Killer 7, but makes up for that by actually having gameplay that doesn't suck. Bleh, Killer 7 was more like a movie than it was game, and while that can be good, it's nice to have some sort of reasonable gameplay in there. No More Heroes offers that movie feeling with a little less intriguing insanity, but it actually keeps up on the gameplay, unlike Killer 7. I don't feel like I'm performing a chore for delicious bits of cinematics anymore. There are still broken elements, but I can deal with that.

And then, Pokemon: Diamond. I'm probably going to receive some flack for this, but I got for only 10 bucks from a relative and I'm admittedly enjoying it. I was caught up in the Pokemon craze when I was younger and red and blue versions had just come out, so it's kind of nice to revisit the series years later (I had last played Gold vers, released back in 2000). It really is actually pretty fun, despite being really easy. (DON'T SHOOT ME, GUYS, PLEASE)

A: As I've recommended, give Deja Vu and Uninvited a try as well. Although, Deja Vu doesn't allow for any shortcuts and kinda cheats to enforce this rule... you might know what I mean if you get around to it. Uninvited is a bit more fair, though.

B: For certain, NMH never quite gets to the level of "severe acid trip" that K7 does. Ironic to say this, but alongside K7, NMH is definitely more realistic... despite lounge-singing police detective gunslingers and cosplaying postal workers with massive crotch lasers. :rollin

In all seriousness, I'm not sure you CAN accurately compare K7 and NMH. They're two different beasts entirely, and they do have their flaws, I admit. But they're both awesome, and that's what mostly links the two together. Oh, that... and Lovikov's techniques are all tributes to the seven personas of Harman. ;)

C: Hey, I can't lynch you. I used to be quite a Pokefan myself. It's just... there's way too goddamn many of them for me to keep track of any more. Rather than just raining blood down on it, I just decide to stay out of it. :)

I used to play Pokemon Yellow on Gameboy (beat it).

My favorite part was plugging in my yellow cartridge into the 64 and playing with my pokemon in the Stadium games!

Haven't played it in years though!

Currently playing all kinds of NES and Genesis games...

Playing Final Fantasy (the first one) on NES and as always Mike Tyson's Punchout...

and about 50 more I won't take the time to list.

For the Genesis, I've been playing Columns, Ranger X and about 50 more I won't take the time to list. :lol

I love these old games.

On the PC, for some reason, now whenever I open Doom 3 on my bigscreen, it flickers VERY BADLY!... I have to ALT-F4 to close it because it is so bad I can't see the title screen to quit.

It used to work just fine on this same machine with the same parts..... don't know what happened. I tried different resolutions and refresh rates, but it just didn't help.

Pissing me off though, because Doom 3 on 57" is the SHIT!! Straight up scary shit! :axechase

Oh, also, playing Overlord on PC on the bigscreen.... Pretty cool concept!

Castlevania Rivalries, a fun homebrew RPG based heavily on the legendary series.

To learn more, check out The Castlevania Dungeon, a fun site which has info on every official Castlevania to date, games similar to Castlevania, and a few homebrew Castlevania games that may be worth a look.

(original design was going to have the MGS2 guard with a ? above his head and a confused expression, but I got too lazy lol)

As well as a few other games, but mostly just that. I haven't beat it in a while, so after replaying MGS2 last week (I picked up the Essential collection), I decided to replay this one, too.

Lately I've been playing Quantum Redshift on the x-box. Best racing game I've ever played and probably the only racing game I'll ever play often.

Lots of Gokujou Parodius on the Saturn, and lots of G-Darius on the PS. Almost single-credited the latter last night, but was killed by the harder version of Great Thing. Rats!

This may sound a little funny but lately I've been playing Dr. Mario on my Gameboy. I've gotten a little bored kicking ass on Quantum Redshift repeatedly so I pulled my old shit out and began perfecting at Dr. Mario more than I ever did when I was a little kid. When I'm not playing Dr. Mario, I've been playing Joust on Midway Arcade Treasures on the X-BOX.

I obtained me a nice shitload of games recently. They be including:

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land (GBA)
Kirby: Canvas Curse (DS)
World Heroes Anthology (PS2)
Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 2 (PS2)
Frequency (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP)
Fantasy Zone (SMS via the Wii's Virtual Console)
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GC) [I don't have this one yet, I'm expecting it soon)

Hmm... I can't help but think that I'm missing one out of that massive rabble. But yeah, I got into a random impulse buying mode.

Dragon Quest VIII, once again.

Great game, easy-to-understand battle mechanic, eye-pleasing graphics, enjoyable soundtrack, what's not to like?

All this talk about the new Splatterhouse has made me want to dig out the Genesis and fire it up. I've yet to do so, though.

I just got Mark of Kri for $4 at a pawn shop.

It's a mix of Don Bluth-like animation, Metal Gear-style stealth, and Conan the Barbarian-like violence. And it can be unforgiving, especially on those who don't practice.

These are by the same developers of the upcoming SH title. I'm curious: Do you think they'll do a fine job on it?

I've been on quite a Genesis kick, and I can't really keep track of all the game I've been playing... but I will say SH2 and SH3 definitely got some good playtime. I was actually in the extended Stage X (the one that looks like you're in some sort of monster stomach), and can I say that I hate the fat monsters with the massive mouths? >_<

Not had much time to play stuff recently, but I started playing Stranglehold on the Xbox360. Got to level 3 just now. And I'm trying to get 100% on Bully (so far I've got 96%).
