I have heard, almost unanimously, that it is shit. This was apparently with one of the big people from the original working closely with the team who made Beast Rider, too. |

Not so much 'shit' as it is 'mediocre,' but yeah. Nowhere near the glory of the original, which I sadly anticipated. I hate to say it, but... LOL SEGA. |

Order of Ecclesia and Deus Ex. OoE is fantastic, and was well worth the money I spent. Deus Ex... wow. This is like... my favourite game ever. I love it! What other games have me saving just so that I can kill people different ways, or trying different conversation options? None! This game is bliss! In between? Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. And stuff. |

I am also trying out Fable 2....damn Peter Molyneux can make a damn fine game....visually stunning....good voice acting...and so far I've only bout an hour into it....very good story setup. Oh and Deadspace....very cool and getting better....one part of this ship you're on has had a hull breach and when you walk through the door the air starts rushing out and then gets very quiet and you can see the hull blown out and exposed to space and bodies and debris floating about and you can watching you air meter count down....its very very cool....maybe i'll take a screenshot of it later tonight and post it... |

Replayed and beat these again over the last few days - Gate of Thunder (almost 1cc'd) Soldier Blade (almost 1cc'd, seriously, both of these were really close and just simple goofs on patterns I had forgotten about I could easily prevent if replaying) Cybernator (for the billionth time, why do I keep playing this game? again, almost 1 cc'd, lol, I've 1 cc'd this one before though) R-Type 3 Gradius Galaxies I also played a little Harmony of Dissonance. The first hour I played it I had forgotten why this wasn't one of my favorites, then an hour or so later I remembered the backtracking killed what could have been one of my favorite Metroidvanias. Right now, I'm replaying Super Mario World and going for a full 96/96 stage clears. |

Just got the groovy Collector's Edition of Fallout 3 today, so alongside Matheo13, another Vault Dweller here... First impressions are very good, the game does feel like an authentic sequel to Fallout 2, rather than Oblivion. That may change as I make a bit of progress though, but for now, I'm very pleased. |

I borrowed a copy of Okami from work. Pretty cool game. The visual style alone makes it an interesting play. |

Super Castlevania IV for SNES, which I picked up locally used. I had forgotten how much I loved this game, particularly the last level (pursuing gear of death, collapsing stairs, and dumbass flying rocks notwithstanding). Even after all these years, the effects still hold up pretty well (it was the first SNES I had that really showcased a lot of novel-for-the-time techniques, like the rotating and spinning rooms and the swinging chandeliers). It was a lot easier than I had remembered, though, especially considering I haven't played it for 12 years or more. I've noticed that a lot of older games I pick up seem to be a lot easier than I remember. Either all that practice is paying off, or the difficulty just looms larger in your mind with time. |

Super Castlevania IV is easily my favorite of the whole series. No matter how incredible Symphony is, and even Curse of Darkness, which was great, Super IV has a place in my heart that will likely go unmatched. And that soundtrack is fuckin' amazing! You're right, though....the game's difficulty used to bedevil me in my formative years, but these days it's a half-hour time-killer at best. Shame, really. |

Yep, the Castlevania games produced around this time were my favorites-I also loved Bloodlines for the Genesis and of course, Dracula's Curse for the NES. I couldn't stand the two 3-D games made for the N64 (bought the system just for Castlevania). I enjoyed Symphony Of The Night and played the hell out of it, even buying a Saturn so I could play the Japanese version with Maria (?), the third playable character. However, the shift towards an RPG like feel and item collecting along with the increasing emphasis on anime style pretty boy vampires and fantasy (and away from horror) caused me to stray from the series. Kind of glad now, since to my untrained eye it seems there's a different Castlevania game released every couple of months and I'd never be able to finish them all :p . For a while there, I was such a Castlevania junkie that I even played the Castlevania/Simon's Quest watch (and handheld). The watch was by far the toughest of all the Castlevania games to beat! |
