I could never get cookies to work on mine, heh, I'll have to give it another shot. At least I know I can surf on this board if my PC dies though, heh-heh-heh!

What games did you get with your Ps3, then?

We got Soul Calibur IV, which I'm unimpressed with. SC3 seemed to be the pinnacle of the series. The controls in SC4 are sluggish and there's no Chronicles of the Sword mode or anything else that made SC3 so much fun.

So we're going to trade it in for Little Big Planet. My wife borrowed that and we've been laughing our asses off. It's got a Katamari Damacy kind of sensibility and sense of humor.

I also want Assassin's Creed, Mirror's Edge, the new Prince of Persia, and Tomb Raider: Underworld.

I disagree that SC3 was the best in the series. It made too many changes (most for the worse) to all characters' movelists, I felt its graphics and music were not very memorable, the AI REALLY sucks (I know that shouldn't be a complaint for games that are best played with a partner, but I almost never have one, so AI counts for me),and I honestly felt as if it had TOO much stuff to unlock, feeling as if they added all that extra crap in there to distract from the fubared fighting engine. Not to say I didn't dislike it, as it got a good deal of playtime out of me (and the Create-A-Character is awesome), but I still have the simple-yet-awesome SC1 as my favorite. I've heard SC4 isn't all that much great shakes, though. I'll still probably get it, but I'm not eager for it so soon.

Sorry, tangent there. Anyway, congrats on the PS3! I'm getting more incentives to obtain one myself. :)

Mirror's Edge is the shit. I'm pretty sure you'll like it. Also, you're getting a lot of multiports (all of them, actually, except for LBP), any particular reason you went with PS3 over 360? Not trying to start some fanboy-war or anything here, just genuinely curious.

I know you were interested in getting Gran Turismo 5, but are you going to be picking up GT5: Prologue? The game has a few updates (and some incoming) that you can only get online that are eventually going to make it nearly as advanced as the finished GT5. Make sure that if you do get it, you have access to online, but purchase a used copy rather than a digital copy (it'll save you some money).

I disagree that SC3 was the best in the series.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion. I know that Jo and I loved the hell out of SC3. We spent hours on Chronicles of the Sword mode. We also used the create-a-character mode to mock up many of the CotR characters, as well as the Prince from Ubisoft's Prince of Persia series and Altair. The controls are responsive and fluid, and the branching paths in each character's story mode adds replay value, in my opinion.

That's just me, though.

Why I got a PS3 as opposed to a 360? Well...

1. I hate the 360 controller. Borrowed one once to play Tenchu Z (NOT recommended) and swore to never touch a 360 controller again.
2. It's a Blu-Ray player with easily updatable firmware.
3. Everyone I know who has a 360 is afraid to play it for any length of time due to the "red ring of death". And these people work at the GameStop where Jo works, so there you go.
4. I don't have to pay for the PlayStation Network.

Anyway, my gamertag is my username here on the Moon if any of you guys want to look me up.

I'm kind of divided on this. On one hand it seems like a cheap ploy for Polyphony Digital to get extra money of out GT fans since it will be a while longer before GT5 comes out, but on the other hand, it is a GT game and does look very impressive. Maybe if after I've bought the other games I am looking at, and GT5 is still a long way off, I might purchase it.
