So these guys have made an NES emulator that runs in Java. They have also uploaded a number of ROMs to their site. Apparently, it's legal for them to do this because they own the actual cartridges for the ROMs they upload... so, since they're not actually letting you download they're more like a videogame rental place. But they're not charging you anything. So maybe more like a library?

Anyway. Looks like they're having some server/bandwidth issues. As in, expense. So they may not be around for much longer. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I posted a link to this a year and a half ago or so, and CheapAlert said it was still illegal because the ROM is uploaded into your cache, I think. I think the link was then deleted.

It's a cool place and I frequently use it for the convenience of checking a NES game out before actually getting it, though. I don't think it would hurt to leave the link up, personally, but it was deemed otherwise back then.
