So, long story short, I'ma finally nab a PS 3 today, from some kid who's willing to toss it at me foe a couple hundred bucks (he's looking to buy lots and lots of weed, and who the fuck am I to argue if it gets me a fuggin' PS 3 for less than half'a what I'd pay at the store!). So, What games should I get? Here's some that I got my eye on, lemme know if I missed any horrific titles.... Resident Evil 5 Silent Hill 5 Bioshock Left 4 Dead ....And I know I can somehow download Siren: Blood Curse, which delites me to no end. So what am I missing? And how about that business of downloading games and so forth? How the Hell does all that work? And Blu-Ray...this thing still play dvds, and old PS 2/1 titles? Fuck it, just someone tell me how to maximize the awesomeness of this thing, and I'll be a happy duck. F'anks, mates! |

Oh don't bother getting bioshock, it's a load of pretentious generic bollocks. And it ain't horror. I know it aint on PS3 but if u want real modern horror that'll chill the marrow, get DOOM 3 for PC! Aaand Left for Dead aint out on PS3 either, sorry, I feel your pain (i is a ps3 owner as well) |

Dead Space, definitely. RE5 is a good choice, too. There's also Alone in the Dark, but that's so-so. You can download the demo at least to decide for yourself. Aside from that, I'll have to have a think about it. There's slim pickings I'm afraid, I haven't played a decent horror game in ages. Yeah, the Ps3 plays normal DVD's as well as Blu Ray, thankfully. But the ability to play Ps1/2 games depends on the model. If it's a 60gb version I think you're golden, but alot of the newer ones don't have the chip in it to emulate, like mine unfortunately. There are games you can download off the PSN store for a few quid, some of them pretty good. BTW, if you get Resident Evil 5 and can play online, let me know mate, we'll have to play co-op. :rtfo :smug |

Don't forget, you can get Japanese horror titles to play on that baby-no region, unlike the XBOX and Wii. I'd recommend some, but all I have are samurai-ninja titles :) . One you can get that has strong horrific elements is 'Genji'-although that might be a little too fantasy for your tatses. |

Though it may not be horrorific, I can't help but suggest this title. Metal Gear Solid 4. A friend of mine owns it, and says it's one of his favorite games, ever. And this friend of mine works at a Play-N-Trade, so it's his job to know. |

Ah MGS4 wansnt a game, it was a really long boring pointless movie. It totally pales in comparison to Snake Eater. MGS4 was insulting, like a slap in the face. |

I would disagree, but I'm not here to argue about MGS. If someone thinks it is like a movie, there is no changing that, and there isn't a point to argue. A good game that is coming out is Demon's Souls. It is like a super hard dungeon crawler, with horror elements, lots of swords and shields, and crazy Capcom-like huge bosses. Altogether, real good stuff. It is already out as in Japan and Asia but it is being released in the west shortly. However, if you want to you can get the Asia version which is 100% English. Menus, voice acting, and all. Also get Valkyria Chronicles! It is such a fun game, you won't regret it. At least give it a chance, it isn't too expensive. |

Nothing like slapping someone in the face for their tastes in games. Sheesh. I won't bother with suggestions, they would probably be too 'main stream' for you guys. |

I'd say go ahead! I mean, mainstream doesn't mean bad, and if anything I'd like to hear about them. |

PS3: successfully purchased. Function: it does indeed! First Game: Silent Hill 5. Splatterhouse '09: reserved!!! :cheers Now lads and ladies, I value all of your suggestions, so keep 'em comin'! I may be, by my own proud admission, The Horror Guy, but I still played Rush N' Attack as a kid, so I'm happy to hear anything you guys think I'll dig. |

Which is why not all of my suggestions were quite horror (: You might wanna check out Final Fantasy XIII when it comes out if you're at all interested in RPGs. Bioshock is worthy, if you ask me. Check out Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Also, there are only certain types of PS3s that are backwards compatible, although I'm not quite sure how to tell. |

Mine, it would seem, is not, though I have a PS2 so I'm in good shape. And I have harbored something of an interest in the new Gaidens they've been unleashing lately. Perhaps a spot of God Of War & Gears Of War as well? |

Gears is only on the 360, but there is a God Of War 3 coming out. Ninja Gaiden is mostly an X-Box exclusive, but they have Sigma on PS3 And of course there's the classic Gaiden series, but I'm only mentioning them so that I don't seem ignorant. |

Yeah, I haven't been keeping up with what'sexclusive to what system, because up until earlier today, I had neither. So, I guess I'll learn as I go. I am, however, intensely happy to have a Blu-Ray player at my disposal. That was ultimately the deal-maker here, so I still have that whole aspect to yet explore! |

Of course, if you get Sigma for PS3, you also get all of the original NES Ninja Gaiden games with it (they're pretty easily unlocked). |

Damn you are lucky Corpse. But even if I could affort the system, I doubt I could afford the games. Last time I checked (or heard), they were $60 new. Which reminds me how I have not bought a game for a year now. |

Then you MUST get Ninja Blade. I think it's down to about $20 already. I'd also consider changing your PS3 preorder of Splatterhouse to XBOX360-if for no other reason, than XBOX360 has all those cool achievements/challenges you can earn for each game, even if everything else is the same. I, of course, will be buying BOTH versions (along with the Japanese ones...if they actually release a Japanese version). |

PS3 has trophies, which are pretty much the same thing as achievements. Almost all new games have them and a lot of popular titles released before trophies were created have retroactively had them added. It comes down to which controller he prefers more, mostly, and whether or not he'll be using Xbox Live. I usually go for the 360 version of games, since Xbox Live is a much better online service, with things like private and party chat (in any game) and other features. The good features on XBL only come with a gold subscription, though, so that's only worth weighing if he's gonna get that :p |
