TOUCHDOWN! Right between the legs.

Anyone been playing it? I find it a good way to pass time, pretty fun and I love being able to wander around town and interact now. It seems like there are other ways to have fun in Sims 3 though. http://www.cracked.com/blog/exploring-the-...ith-the-sims-3/ I read that a while ago and laughed more than I can remember in recent times. |

My wife plays it religiously....I hardly see her anymore :lol When it came out, we knew that we couldn't afford it at the time. So I took the plunge and traded what little games I had left so I could buy it for her.....I've never seen her so excited lol....it was awesome. |

:rollin I haven't even checked out Sims 2. But you can actually go into town in 3? I might check it out then. And that link is funny. I done similar stuff trying to glitch the game, killing people in makeshift tombs. I even got the monkey butler hauling trash everywhere instead of cleaning it up. The game is fun for stupid stuff like that, but I otherwise cheated for stats and some of the more boring micromanagement stuff. |

Yeah I cheat the crap out of the game. I made a pie chart to show you my daily activities in Sims 3: Posted Image The 2%, of course, is spent doing things like making my Sim go to the bathroom 4 times in a row, or cook 7 dinners only to leave them out and rot. |

I thought games that had broad appeal were frowned upon on the moon.... you know, too mainstream and all. :ph43r: |

Welcome to the Machine

This game is pure evil. You may think that you are actually in control of someones life but the things is that the game is actually controlling YOU! Just as I started playing it, I thought "Hmmm okay I'll only play for ten minutes just to check it out". Then once I built my house and got my Sim a job thirty-minutes had passed. Then I thought "okay I'll only increase logic skill once and then I'll close the game". But no, it went on and on and on and on! Minutes became hours. I started playing at 6:00 pm and ended at 10:30 pm. It really speeds up time. I won't be surprised if they discovered that the game randomly flashes messages at you while your playing like "Come on, play some more, it's fun!" |

<_< Plenty of the games we discuss here have broad appeal. But stuff like The Sims, which seems to appeal mostly to non-gamers, I have no use for, nor will I personally discuss here. Anyone else wants to discuss them, go right ahead - I just won't be joining in, because I refuse to play or talk about them. The same goes for World of Warcraft (and any other MMORPG). I have no use for virtual time wasters like these. The games I play, I can be done in twenty or thirty minutes and feel like I've gotten some good gaming in. I've got better things to do than be chained to my PC, leveling up for hours on end, going on pointless quests and listening to idiots spout off inane bullshit. Also, I can say that the majority of WoW players that I've interacted with directly - by living in the same house as them - are blithering idiots that play nice to your face then stab you in the back. The only exception to this is Len. So tell me, just why would I want to be gaming with these people? And you know what else really grinds my gears? Seeing all these banner ads for online MMORPGs here on T3M: Galaxy Online, Evony, Godswar Online, AdventureQuest, MechQuest and so on. Who gives a fuck about these here? Have we ever started a thread about free online MMORPGs? I understand we're getting them because we do discuss videogames here, but really. |

I was just joking, man. Sheesh. Though I do think your stereotyping things a bit much. But I guess I can't say much as I don't play these games at all either. |

Jeez what the hell rob? I'm feeling pretty labeled here, and all I was tryin to do was make a half-assed joke about sims. I used to play WoW a few years ago, i am not an idiot who spouts off inane bullshit, or stab people in the back ( quite the opposite ) But if you don't intend on joining in cause you don't care for these types of games, why be so vehement? |

I don't ever recall living in the same house as you, Nate. Don't miss that particular bit. Those are the backstabbers and the two-faced jackasses. I've lived with them. Had it been just one person, I'd have overlooked that. Two would have been a coincidence. Three or more, it's a fucking conspiracy. And I can think of at least five people that qualify right off the top of my head. As far as the idiots spouting off inane bullshit bit, I certainly don't mean that everyone that plays WoW does that, but I've certainly seen enough evidence firsthand of those that do. I certainly wouldn't put any T3M members that play WoW in the same category as the idiots (and going by my memory, there's you, Len, Dave, DarkPrincess, edkarthos and Grey Fox at least, and none of you are like that). It's well, the idiots that are the idiots.
What I've observed in person is enough to justify how I feel and swear me off of MMORPGs in general for good. |

As long as I don't apply to it. But because I've spent a while playing it, I know firsthand how shit-for-brains WoWheads can be. That's probably why I didn't wanna be in the same group as them. here's a good example: http://www.cracked.com/blog/understanding-...mario-brothers/ The comments section really shines with wowtard logic and their tower of babel-like failure. |

Geez, Nate, of course not. Re-read my original post on the subject with that in mind.
That is the best thing I've seen Seanbaby write in a long time. :rollin And some of the later comments are very spot-on:

I'm a fan of diablo. but I am not a fan of eating a bag of dicks, that is why I quit WoW while I was only a little behind. I had a girlfriend who played it as well for a while, it was like her vagina was made of blenders while also wearing a chastity belt. I ended that one cause she was more concerned with purple loot and not...well, real life at all. Seanbaby later made an article bashing some of the avid WoW fans who were offended and then posted hatecomments about that article, which produced even more lols for me. And on topic, I can't exactly say I'm a sims player because all I do are inappropriate things that have nothing to do with feeding, caring, or living vicariously through the virtual counter part. But besides abusing the game for lulz, Sims is really a slightly less desperate ' Second Life ' |

It's like playing Shenmue in that sense, or at least the part where you have to go to fucking work every day. I dropped Shenmue after that tedious bullshit kicked in. I go to work every day, why the fuck do I want to come home and go to work while I'm trying to relax with a videogame? |

Shenmue was...Interesting. The sims I just magically make myself money, never sleep, never work, never eat and make meaningful connections with neighbors and friends, so I can break down our relationship with obscene advances and then never call them for months on end. This article, I found, not quite as funny as the other. But necessary because trolls need some slaps every now and then http://www.cracked.com/blog/10-species-of-...ter-on-the-web/ |

On the subject of WoW, that game is evil incarnate. All I've got to say. On the subject of The Sims, it's not my proverbial cup of the beverage, but I do at least admire the concept of being able to play as some sort of deity over the humans you create. What can I say, I'm a vile enough bastard to max out my video game cruelty potential over anything and everything that may or may not deserve it. :D |

It's not your fault I got mixed up with a bunch of fucktards that play WoW until their eyes bleed. On the other hand, you will never see me debating the merits of any kind of cars in Black Sunshine either. That's for you car guys to do. |

From the little of Sims I have played, most of it involved creating circumstances that will result in their death. One being creating moat around someone.... Just as they needed to use the restroom. |
