| Hello, this is the World of Matar! Where we tell grand tales, and also manage to fit in the odd complaint about what have you. But we love each other. Well most of us. Well, some of us. Well, one of us. Maybe. Basically, here's how it goes down: There's the General Discussion for anything, hence the "general". And the Introductions and Farewell section for, well, introductions and farewells. There's TWoM RP with three sections, and a fourth one coming soon when the story demands it, for role playing, a Codex section for your questions, and some Guidelines. There's the Fantasy Role Plays for all other original RPs (Role Plays), and not just fantasy but sci-fi and what not. Currently there is... nothing. Yeah. Kinda depressing. There's the Fan Based RPs for when we want to RP either as people from games, books, or movies or base the RP off of said published work. Currently we have Final Fantasy I and I believe that Fate/Stay Night is getting started. There's the Creative Writing with story time where residents can both write and read original stories from creepypastas to fanfictions to ramblings. And soon enough there may even be a Blog section there as well. There's the Battle System section all on its own, this is a proto-system headed by Metal Neil and may one day be implimented into some RP. Or not. We're not sure about all that. Join our community! Rolfe Cormac MacAlister, aka Tiger Cormac, aka Cormac MacAlister THE FIERCE TIGER OF CRIME... Your flippant attitude suggests you were unaware of this aspect of the man's character before opening your mouth. Of Cormac MacAlister, we may mention three brief points of note. Point the first, it is in fact mandatory to place his title, THE FIERCE TIGER OF CRIME with sufficient emphasis. Point the second, the man is, while yes dressed as a butler for the purposes of what one would presume is a manner of infiltration, is also seven feet tall and built like a brick shithouse, to pardon the momentary vulgarity. Point the third, the list of things like to set him upon a murderous, berserker fury such as experienced by the dwellers of Asgard comprises some seventeen thousand nine hundred and forty six separate articles. Being a smartass to him is fortunately, not on that list. Using French loan words in a sentence, unfortunately is. While you remain transcendentally oblivious to the previous narrative discussion, more the unfortunate for you, one might get the gist that something is amiss when the butler, whom you are unaware is none other than Cormac MacAlister, THE FIERCE TIGER OF CRIME, adopts an expression of what you might describe as irritation. Such a judgement becomes certainty when the man reaches up with one hand and tears a hefty looking pipe out of the fixtures, then fixes you with a glare. Might want to skip the ho... the snacks. On this particular occasion. Naira Following the child is certainly plausible. Further oddities reveal themselves however. The child seems perfectly willing to keep herself in your sight, and at first your adult strides seem to allow you to make progress in catching up to her. Those brief moments when a passenger obstructs your field of vision or she turns a corner seem to obscure something that the child is doing, and when she returns to your field of vision, your progress has been erased and you are no closer to closing the gap than you were at the start. Also every time this happens, you get the same magical slap across the face. No one else seems to be reacting to it, proving that the crowd around you aren't particularly magically sensitive, even those from the actual magical world. For heavens sake, it's not like the child is being subtle with these brief bursts. This rather infuriating game of tag eventually seems to end as the child goes below decks. You note that the crowd has thinned to the point of non-existence. There are no staff members or passengers around. I think you might be able to handle a malnourished orphan in all honesty. |

Can you feel it, Mr. Krabs?

One glance back. Everyone was oblivious. Well of course they were. It was as if the mundane and the not-so-mundane were two sides of a mirror. Or a very thin mirror. Or like... the surface of a lake. 'Claire' had never been one for deep analogies. There were no crew members to check her before going below it seemed, rendering it a trifling matter to slip down the stair well and continue the chase. Below deck was like something from another setting entirely. Where above, it was open and inviting, with it's myriad of bright colors and lavish decor, down below it was cramped, dingy, claustrophobic... probably infested with rats. 'Claire' always disliked rats. And spiders. Most vermin really. Fingers slid along the cover of her book, much as one would thumb the hilt of a sword in moments of anxiety. 'Claire' knew she was being led on in this chase. She knew the her prey was deliberately keeping her where she wanted her. In all likelyhood, this was a trap of one sort or the other, which made her feel all the more foolish to continue feeding from the hand like this. Her steps slowed to a creep as she progressed upon the path, eyes scanning the walkway before her. Each clink, clank, and hiss of pistons whittled away at her nerves, but she vowed to push forward regardless. |

Listening to the voices in your head telling you what to do isn't always the wisest course of action, but look at you defying convention and taking the plunge. And a plunge it is, for beneath decks seems to currently lack the blessings of Mr. Edison's fascinating light generating devices at present. Your eyes take a brief moment to adjust to the inky blackness around you. Well they do until some inconsiderate bastard flips the lights. While you digest that little factoid, a voice issues out of the cloying darkness/blinding light/whatever lies inbetween. "Well, now that we have that tedious charade out of the way..." The girl then. Of course it is. Divested of both serf's outfit and jovial attitude at that. You've no idea how she changed costumes so quick. Maybe layers are involved. At any rate, shirt, fine leather waistcoat, pantaloons, a rather oversized hat and, perhaps most pertinently, a cocked pistol aimed at your head later, the girl fixes you with a glare. "Elizabeth Daltry at your service. Or rather, you'll have to be at mine stowaway." Not lowering the gun for a moment, she gestures upstairs. "The curs are in the final stages of their plan you see, and it'll go damned hard against me to have a wild card in the mix. So out with it, what brings you on board a deathttap?" The name Daltry might bring to mind a detective agency of the same name. Odd choice for an agent of the law, but an agent nonetheless, pointing a loaded weapon in your direction. |

From the shadows... DOOM
![]() ![]() ![]()

A behemoth, a hulking monster of the air that sat amidst media sentry and aristocratic affair shared vices much akin to host bodies of all kinds - as above, so below. And one vice in particular remained scurrying, buzzing about the steam-driven flesh and sculptural electrical engineering, in and around the pipes and metal. Sulvain, in his usual mindless mutterings to himself, sped in what should have been mind-numbingly cramped spaces as he steadily descended towards the boiler rooms and engine dockings for the ship, but he was a ferret among twisted roots in his lithe and dexterous form. "I'll be the one to protect you... from all your demons... Back to sleep, now..." He'd arrived: the very stomach of the Titanberg. Perched precariously on a crossbeam twenty or so feet above the grated metal floor below, he wound taut a fine, thin wire about his fingers, one that occasionally crackled with some loose electricity. Sulvain was a descendant of a family of doctors - particularly ones that had aligned to the sciences after the schism Walpurgisnacht had created. His gaze manically fixated on the point of hypothetical meeting he'd left his assassin with, a shadowy space on the floor. Meet me where my shadow meets thine own - An infinetismally quiet grinding noise emits from Sulvain's beaked visage - "Take the skin, and peel it back..." He strings the wire to three separate mechanisms, and sets about the room, preparing his trap. Behind his mask, his lips nearly trembled. Edited by Mezeryn, Sep 22 2016, 04:04 AM.

As the gun is pointed "Claire's" way, she went for the book, flicking it open in finely honed reflex to.... try to shield her face against the gun with it. The girl's knees trembled as she melted into a puddle of cowardice right there on the spot. A gun! An actual gun! Glasses were pushed askew as she was now covering her head with the book as if it were a protective helmet. "Don't fire! I'm just a student!" She insisted, as though she could push the feeble lie until it was believable. |

'Claire' - Your forthright display of unabashed weeping and helpless flailing convinces the kid detective that you're roughly as threatening as a half baked flan. With a look half bordering on disgust, she lowers the gun. 'Oh for Christ's sake woman, it's not even loaded. Aren't your lot supposed to be observant?' And indeed, a brief check would note that the gun doesn't appear to be a functional one. 'Stole it off one of the 'urchins' upstairs. Shoddy workmanship if you ask me.' Elizabeth lowers the gun, worthless as it is. 'Then again if you were as observant as you're supposed to be, you'd have seen this entire ship's a deathtrap.' |
