Hello, this is the World of Matar! Where we tell grand tales, and also manage to fit in the odd complaint about what have you. But we love each other. Well most of us. Well, some of us. Well, one of us. Maybe.

Basically, here's how it goes down:

There's the General Discussion for anything, hence the "general". And the Introductions and Farewell section for, well, introductions and farewells.

There's TWoM RP with three sections, and a fourth one coming soon when the story demands it, for role playing, a Codex section for your questions, and some Guidelines.

There's the Fantasy Role Plays for all other original RPs (Role Plays), and not just fantasy but sci-fi and what not. Currently there is... nothing. Yeah. Kinda depressing.

There's the Fan Based RPs for when we want to RP either as people from games, books, or movies or base the RP off of said published work. Currently we have Final Fantasy I and I believe that Fate/Stay Night is getting started.

There's the Creative Writing with story time where residents can both write and read original stories from creepypastas to fanfictions to ramblings. And soon enough there may even be a Blog section there as well.

There's the Battle System section all on its own, this is a proto-system headed by Metal Neil and may one day be implimented into some RP. Or not. We're not sure about all that.

I swear. It's like we try this every year or somethin'. Anyways...

The world lies shrouded in darkness.
The winds die...
The seas rage...
The earth decays...

But the people believe in a prophecy, patiently awaiting its fufillment.

"When darkness veils the world, five Warriors of Light shall come."

After a long journey, four young travelers did appear and in the hand of each was clutched a crystal.

A Red Mage and his party trudge on into the city of Corneria which at this time was bustling with business. The markets were crowded with people and there were stalls in the square; dancers danced, bards played music, and gamblers cheated. It was a rather nice fair to celebrate the coming of age of Princess Sara.

The people try to take solace in some good news in these dark times. Malcolm looks about and says, "Well have fun if you are going to, I am off to the magic shops for tomes and such. And do try not to get into too much trouble, yes?" He begins to walk off towards the two stores.

(And it being the first town, here are the spells our mages can use:

Black Magic: Fire, Thunder, Sleep, Focus

White Magic: Cure, Dia, Protect, Blink

For sake of simplicity, and our past RPing happenings, I don't see why the mages can't utilize all the spells here (except for me since Red Mages/Wizards can't use everything so I'll probably just use a 2:2 ratio and most likely just buffs and debuffs))

"But of course Malcolm! WHO do you think will cause trouble among US!?" A girl clad in whole white with the matching white hat and staff accentuated by sky blue trimmings and black leggings immediately answered back.

"CERTAINLY it's not ME! Helena! I have my MANNERS fashioned from the GODS above!" She pinched Marcus's cheeks just before he could walk away. "YOU SHOULD SEE IT! That BURNING discipline deep within me that is engraved in MY very HEART and SOUL!" And then she laughed out loud.

"Let me join you, oh my dearest red mage! You're CRIMSON suit just screams OH MANLINESS that lights up MY SOUL even MORE!!!" She leeched herself to Marcus' right arm and followed him as she waves good bye to the rest.

Yet another mage joins the group, this one wearing blue but wielding Black Magic. Yeah, figure that one out.

'Please, please get a room. Underground. Deep underground. Then board up the exit. Or brick it up, I'm not fussed.'

This particular mage goes by the name of Arslan, and he doesn't seem to have much time for shenanigans involving hot blooded white mages.

'While you do that, I might see if I can get a new staff. And I might even drop by the magic shop later, after the inevitable consecration of the site by our over eager priest.'

Robed rebels? Wielders of the arcane? Not all of them, by any means. A party of four made their way to the so-called "city of dreams", Cornelia. Spires surround the grand city, while walls barricade it from all enemies, with each brick built to stand against any battering ram. Standing in awe, the buffed up basher of the party gazed at the kingdom's beauty, and spoke.

"Wow, city of dreams, alright! But ain't nothing's gonna keep me from reality!"

With a bandana tightened around his head, his relatively short hair bent over the band, partly covering his steely eyes. His buffed arms could be spotted a mile away, and also warned others that he was not an individual to be taken lightly. Robed like a certain Street Fighter, his training attire blew in the midday breeze, pushing back his hair. Standing proudly, here stood Siegfried Dorin, the brave monk.

As the three mages decided to pick up new spells, the monk was left out as he was unable to wield such magic. "Trouble? Not my fault that I attract it. I do dish out a beat-down to whatever moves, after all!" He then made his way to the weapons shop and got himself a nice pair o' nunchucks. He smirked, and toyed with them as he then placed one handle on his shoulder, leaving the other firmly grapsed in his hand.

Walking out casually, he moved towards the town square, noticing the resident dancing girl. But fancy moves weren't exactly on his mind. "Hm... I wonder where the ministry of magic has got to? Prolly drooling over their spells an' all that..." From his chest robes, he pulled out a brilliant crystal that was bound by the chain around his neck. Out of boredom, he began to twirl it around his fingers, trying to pass the time while waiting for his companions' return.

"My suit screams 'oh manliness'? Why not regular manliness?" Malcolm shifts his cane to his left hand after Helena grabbed his right. "And further more, Arslan, you are simply jealous I have a hot blooded white mage about my arm and you have just your silly hat." He begins to move himself in the direction of the magic shops and says, "And if you're going to pick up a new staff, see if they have a new sword as well. A knife does me no good out there!"
===
Meanwhile in the castle of Cornelia, Princess Sara is preparing for her grand appearance in the square at the end of the day. Her handmaidens are gushing over her for things like setting this year's trends and such.

Outside her door was a knight, Garland, not to be confused with the Dissidia Garland with the fantastic weapon, this one simply has a long sword and looks like a regularish man with a horned helmet.

The two guards outside the princess's room salute Cornelia's greatest knight and the first says, "Ser Garland, are you planning on going over the security with the princess for tonight?"

"Something like that, yes." Garland said. He looked behind him and continued, "Why don't you two go off to the fair? I can handle guarding her."

"But sir, I don't think-"

Garland clasps one of the soldiers on his shoulder and says, "It's an order, go have fun. We're behind great walls and great men, nothing can breach the walls and even if they do they would have to face me to get by."

"Well... if you're certain, we will go." The soldiers salute once more and walk off, leaving Garland by the door alone.

Soon.

"...And silly monocles..." Helena added to Malcolm's words as she hissed and squinted at the black mage.

"Please... do not think ill of me my dearest mage. For all you know, I have this whole different longing for you as well. So please do not be jealous of Mally my dear Arly. And I was about to forgive you for throwing away my cuddly bear earlier on the road. Now this!?" She folded her arms while her left arm was still wrapped and locked on Malcolm's.

Giving it some thought, she glanced back at the black mage. "Oh! Please buy me a staff as well; a long sturdy white staff studded with ruby. Pleeeeaaase..." She requested Arslan shifting her hiss to a suggestive cat purr with a matching cute cat eyes.

Though bulky and screams manliness all over the place, Helena tries to shy away from Siegfried. Being in the thick of a beat down isn’t really that pleasant. "Oh have your fill of fun my dear Siegy!" She said as he walked away.

Finally, the red and white mages arrived at the magic shop. However, Helena was in the wrong side. Her eyes were fixated on the scrolls for black magics. She bits her lower lip and and clenched her fist before shaking her head and went on to leech on Malcolm's arm again.

"So what will you have my dear Mally? Surely you do not intend to be as barbaric as Arly in your choice of spells. Its reassuring to have another one who can do some healing..." Her voice began to drift away. "...Another one who might understand my pain..." Until the last three words were just whispers.

Arslan can only look on with increasing wonder at the White Mage's antics. 'I think there are parts of your Order's charter that you should look over again.'

And now they're dropping weapons shopping on him? 'Oh, I'll get you weapons.'

------

The weapons shop was easy enough to find in the city, being the only shop in the entire city with a large sword painted on a large board above the entrance. As Arslan approached the place, he noted a rather distinct... odor. A terrible one at that.

It only gets stronger as he enters the shop, and beholds the shopkeeper. What horrors spawned this creature, he asks himself mentally. He must be the creature that serfs look upon with disdain.

'Good day shopkeep. I require your services.'

This seems to confuse the poor man. 'What services would those by my lord?'

Arslan halts in his path, in wonderment. 'What do you think I need your services for? It is a weapons shop, I require weapons.'

'Oh. Fancy that!'

It is at this point that Arslan is determined to give the creature a disparaging name. Ignorance is an unforgivable crime, and this serf, this troglodyte, must be public enemy number one. All that remains is to imagine a name so terrible, so perfect for this...

'What is your name?'

'Baldrick, my lord.'

Oh, there we go. Nature has done the work for me, he thinks.

'I need the worst weapons you possibly have.' He states.

'See, now that's unusual, in that most people come in here wanting the best I have. I must admit, this has called into question a lot of things in life.' the owner says, clearly confused at the demands.

'I need two staves and a sword. The first staff should be the absolute best you have. The other should be a moth eaten piece of wood. It should look like it's been picked up off the ground, or someone's drawn some shapes on a twig and called it a day. In fact, it should be so poor, so pathetic a staff, that it should be an insult to sticks to even call it a stick.'

The shop keep continues to look confused, before he reaches down under the counter and pulls out an ordinary looking staff. 'Here you are my lord! My best staff! And coincidentally, also my worst.'

Arslan looks blankly at that. 'I beg your pardon?'

'See, we only has the one kind of staff here, and the one kind of sword, and the one kind of knife, and the one kind of nun-chucks, and the...'

Arslan raises a hand. 'Stop right there, there's enough to deal with as is. You are a weapons shop owner, right?'

'That I am sir.'

'And this is Cornelia, one of the largest cities in the world, frequently beset by monsters, yes?'

'Tis very true sir, that it be Cornelia we're in.'

'Right, so if you are a weapons shop owner in a large city with high demand for weapons, why do you only have the most basic things? This sword would probably be better made of wood! At least it'd give someone a splinter!'

'That wouldn't be nice, a bloke could hurt himself on a splinter sir!'

'... You really are just the worst creature on this green earth, aren't you?' he sighs out in exasperation.

'And I'd feel real downtrodden if I had a splinter sir.'

'... Two staves and a sword.' He says, giving up.

He leaves the store and looks to the new weapon in his hand. 'Fantastic. Now armed with my mighty stick, I shall lay waste to all that oppose me.' He sighs, and reaches up to his hat.

'How'd I end up here? Bet the other mages have better things to do with their time than fight Goblins.' He reaches into his robe and pulls out a small crystal upon a chain. 'It'd be nice if I knew what you were for too.'

He taps the ground with his staff. 'Hey, I don't know if you're up there. I don't want to take Helena's word on it. But if you are, mind sending something interesting my way?'

Malcolm looks about the scrolls and such and says, "I haven't a clue what I'll get." He walks to the counter of the shop and says, "What would you recommend for a red mage such as myself?"

"Oh my don't we have a master magician here!" Said the shopkeeper, "All red and with a feathered hat! For what do I owe this most auspicious of meetings?"

"The lady and I need spells. And probably a bunch of them since we have a black mage to get spells for as well."

"Oh yes, yes of course... we have a wide variety of spells ranging from Fire to Cure!"

"That's not in alphabetical order."

The shopkeeper glares at the interruption, "As I was saying, we have all your basic needs ready for use. The city doesn't have that great of a guild... mostly because it's just me. So I don't get all the best spells."

"Hm. Well. Let's just take everything for now and return it if we don't need a spell."

"I don't do returns. I did it once, but only because the guy was here for three years. All to get back fifteen gil! I swear..." He begins to ramble on as he rummages through the spells for all the ones I listed at the beginning.

As the day went on, the princess's scheduled appearance in the square was about to begin. It was here that the culmination of all of Garland's ambitions were to take place. He was personally assigned to guard the princess which was the perfect time to snatch her.

And because he knew no man or woman could best him, even if they attacked at once, he would do it right in front of everyone. As the various citizens began to cheer when the princess rode up to the square, Garland looked down from the make-shift stage.

Princess Sara strode up to the stage with her father and several guards. The moment she was on stage and the guards dispersed to their assigned positions on and around the stage, Garland drew his sword and kicked the king off of the stage.

Cries of confusion rang out as Garland punched the princess in the stomach, knocking the wind from her, and put her on his shoulder. The guards came to stop him, but even with a handicap he swiftly disarmed or killed those that stood in his way.

He took his time to pass through the crowd, no one could stop him after all. They won't dare to shoot at him with arrows and the soldiers cannot best him in martial combat. Underneath his helmet, Garland smirked as the crowd parted before him.

“I’ll be taking those...” Helena took the scrolls best suited for her class as well as those for Arslan and left the equivalent amount of gil in the counter.

She leeched around Malcolm’s arm again. “Come on now my dearest crimson knight, before Arly makes a situation in the town square.” Helena mentioned switching Arslan to herself. “I heard that the fair maiden of Cornelia is about to make an public appearance. And I want you to choose who is more desirable between the two of us.” She mused Malcolm.

However, as the two mages left the shop, a commotion was already happening. The princess was abducted; abducted by the King’s most trusted vassal.

“Oh please do tell! Since when did I become an oracle?” She asked as they squeezed in between and passed through the rowdy townsfolk to meet up with Arslan. “No point posing as heroes without weapons and spells. Unless of course if you’re Siegy.”

And yet, for all of Garland's ferocious might, there is one man determined to stand up against him.

He is no great hero, no magnificent knight. And yet, armed with his simple tool, he is determined to lay down his life for his kingdom. He takes a deep breath to steady himself. His time is now! He takes a step forward, he summons his courage! Garland shall not pass him! He shall be victorious, or he shall inspire them to help! He shall be knocked out almost instantly by a blow to the back of the head, which causes him to crumple to the ground.

Arslan, the source of aforementioned knockout blow, observes his staff for a moment. 'Huh, that works. Also, I guess I saved your life. You're welcome.'

He notices that the magic shop lies past where Garland currently treads, and he walks past the iron knight.

He pauses for a second. 'As you were then.' And continues on to the shop.

He wasn't getting paid for hopeless odds, no matter who was being carted off by what lunatic of the day.

'So brave fellows, I appear to have found weapons, and a shining new contempt for most of the people here. Short of burning it down, let's leave before it becomes contagious. ... Oh, and I think the local ruler just got kidnapped or something.'
