| Hello, this is the World of Matar! Where we tell grand tales, and also manage to fit in the odd complaint about what have you. But we love each other. Well most of us. Well, some of us. Well, one of us. Maybe. Basically, here's how it goes down: There's the General Discussion for anything, hence the "general". And the Introductions and Farewell section for, well, introductions and farewells. There's TWoM RP with three sections, and a fourth one coming soon when the story demands it, for role playing, a Codex section for your questions, and some Guidelines. There's the Fantasy Role Plays for all other original RPs (Role Plays), and not just fantasy but sci-fi and what not. Currently there is... nothing. Yeah. Kinda depressing. There's the Fan Based RPs for when we want to RP either as people from games, books, or movies or base the RP off of said published work. Currently we have Final Fantasy I and I believe that Fate/Stay Night is getting started. There's the Creative Writing with story time where residents can both write and read original stories from creepypastas to fanfictions to ramblings. And soon enough there may even be a Blog section there as well. There's the Battle System section all on its own, this is a proto-system headed by Metal Neil and may one day be implimented into some RP. Or not. We're not sure about all that. Join our community! Pay no attention to the handsome and ageless rock star hiding behind the couch!

The door to the Velvet Room sits in the middle of the Presidium. It's nature is of course in contrast to the technological world around it, and yet for some reason it remains unremarkable, unless of course one should choose to remark upon it. Or stranger still, should the Room or its Denizens choose to remark upon you. Upon opening it, one is taken from the world, removed from the continuation of time and space, or rather it's simulation, given the nature of the reality from which you originate. A flash of light obscures your senses. When they return to you... ![]() The man bears a remarkable number of outstanding features. One might choose to remark upon his mystical bearing. You might comment on his nose, if you were going to be a bit droll about the whole thing. But you might also note his bloodshot eyes, as he looks up from his reverie and stares at you with a Cheshire like grin. ![]() 'Welcome to the Velvet Room. My, but it would appear that we have some guests with intriguing destinies.' He pauses for a second, and continues with a short chuckle. 'I wonder if all of you will realize them.' Those words seem somewhat significant. 'My name is Igor. I am delighted to make your acquaintance.' The man then places his hand on the table, and when he removes it, a single card lies where his hand once was. He then turns to the woman sitting across from him. 'This is Margaret, my assistant. She is a resident of this room, much like myself.' ![]() The woman nods, and looks up towards you. You are struck by the air of mystery that surrounds these two. 'I am here to accompany you on your journey.' she states simply. 'Now then, we have already met once before. At that time, I issued you with this.' He raises his hand, and a card ascends into the air. ![]() 'Are you aware of the significance of the cards? Each reading is done with the same deck, and yet the result is always different. The Fool represents the beginning of your journey.' He claps his hands and the card vanishes. 'They are part of the service which I offer to our guests. Their significance however, will have to wait for another time. A time when you will come to me of your own free will perhaps?' He turns once more to Margaret. 'Since I have already alluded our services, Margaret will expand upon what it is we offer.' Margaret nods, and opens her book. 'Since your collective holds the card of the Fool Arcana, it only remains for me to give you this.' A small blue light descends from the ceiling and lands in your hand. You open it to observe a small, blue key. 'Those that hold the Velvet Key shall henceforth be welcome within the Velvet Room at all times.' Margaret observes as the key pulsates in your hand, and continues. 'I am able to offer support to you on your journey, and will accompany you when necessary. I will not directly participate in battle however.' Igor chortles. 'You will see soon enough.' He raises his hand. 'As you advance ever further towards the solution to this great mystery, the range of services we are able to provide shall expand... but we shall discuss that at another time.' Margaret nods. 'There is one more thing. Occasionally, I will issue a request. These tasks are entirely optional, and encompass numerous objectives. The rewards however, will not be insignificant... and I would appreciate if you took some time to assist me in these manners.' Igor looks up once more. 'Now then, time continues apace in the space you have come to us from. It is perhaps best if you return there now. But do not worry... we will meet again.' Edited by Sun Tzu, Apr 1 2013, 04:57 PM.
