EJ yawned as she swirled the contents of her glass. It had been three days since her last job and she didn't like that. She missed the thrill, she missed the screams...she missed the cash.

Yeah, come to think of it, she was down to her last cent. "Bummer." she muttered, taking another drink.

The bar was especially crowded this evening, slime and scum of every kind packed wall to wall--and all of them unaware of her presence. That was the best part. These days it seemed she couldn't go anywhere without being spotted by some fan or a fed. Her reputation was getting to be to good for her own good, if that made any sense.

EJ slammed her glass down on the table, "Bartender. Hit me again."

"Same for me," came a velvety smooth reply. Blue eyesglimmered in the low light. "I'll but hers, too. Got some coin I need to spend..."

Sometimes...silence is the safest choice. But, not always shall it be just. Yet, then again, sometimes people should be silent in the first place to prevent you from having to chose between being silent and safe or being loud and right...Wow...I'm confuzzled by my own words!!! My head hurts....

EJ looked at the person for a moment or two and shrugged. "Whatever you like." After all, she could hardly turn down an offer like that; they were paying for her anti-freeze, or whatever they called it. It meant booze, so that was good.

Once the bartender had refilled her glass, she took a swig and turned towards the generous person. "You got a name?" she asked, leaning against the table.

The woman smiled slightly. "Name's Jackie. You, my friend?" She clapsed the cup and took a sip. "Haven't seen you around lately. You new here?" A strand of mahogany hair fell, swiftly being tugged behind her triple pierced ear.
Jackie stretched, her toned body moving in a ripple of muscled, tan flesh. Her black cutoffs contrasted with the clean, white tank top. With a yawn, she leaned against the counter as well.

"Probably not a friend: Walker. EJ. I just came into town about a week ago. Figured I'd see the night life before I go." she replied with a chuckle and a sly grin. That much was true. She wanted to scope out the area for possible clients, or possible targets. She wasn't sure who climbed around the dark parts of this city.

EJ shrugged out of her leather jacket and draped it across the back of her chair before downing the rest of her glass. 'Ah, scotch; the sweet nectar of life.'

"I take it you know this joint."

She grinned, her canines a little longer than normal. ' She's not normal...' With a shrug, she replied. " ' course I do. Been living here for a few months..." She placed one blood red nail against her plump lower lip. 'Dear gods! She throws 'em back like I do!'
With a fluid movement, she stood, and looked back at her. "So, what's your business here?"

"Bartender, hit me again!"

EJ rolled her shoulders a bit and put a dirty, bloody boot up on the bar table. "I wouldn't really call it a business, rather just a, uh, hobby I turned into a job. I'm a hitman—well, hitwoman. You know PC everybody is these days. You?"

"Depends on who pissed me off..." Jackie gave a small smile. "I... Have special ways to take care of them. Otherwise... I'm a musician."

"Mmm. Nice. You get much in that regard? I get paid squat, but I do what I love." EJ laughed, and smiled as though remembering a fond memory.

She pulled out her swiss army knife and tossed it down on the counter, and began to play with it while the bartender set her up for what would probably lead to a bad headache in the morning.

"I get paid in more ways than one. My worst payment...granted me this" she straightened her arm, twisted, and a black spark gathered on her wrist, sank in, and split the skin. She winced, and flexed. A thin, black blade drew out, blood gathering in scarlet markings. "Painful, but beyond any level of weapon I've used. Demons payment, I believe."
With a flick of her fingers, it sailed through the air and embedded itself in the wall. To the hilt.

"Nice weapons, but I don't believe in demons," Walker said with nonchalance, "I believe in beating hearts which I can stop with my bare hands. And I like it that way. See this?" she asked holding up her knife, "it's helped me meet that end on more than one occasion. It's all I need to get me by."

She pointed to her own scar, which was a simple slash across her mouth from her cupid's bow down to her chin. "I got this when I was fifteen. From that knife. It was my pop's." She didn't know why she was telling her any of this; what did she care about any of it? Oh well. Scotch+brain= blank.

A tingle in her upper jaw caused her fanges to drop slightly. "Ah, but the must fun hits, are those with...special qualities." 'Dont believe in demons, eh?' For some reason, the idea made her annoyed...

"I suppose. I do love the chase. I especially love the moment just before you corner them, when they think they've gotten away. And now I want to kill someone again. I don't know why they aren't more people in this field. It pay the bills, you get to move around. Who cares about the FBI?" Walker waved her hand, dismissing the bureau. They hadn't caught her once. Not once.

She dropped her knife back in her pocket and knocked back another round of scotch. Surprisingly, she was still able to keep her cool. She never drank this much.
