Subject Name: João Davi Alias: Sap Subject Alignment: Government, Neutral, Chaotic Registration Date: NR Classification: No powers to speak of, though is possessed of acute powers of observation, and extensive control of his facial muscles and voice. Gender: Male Date of Birth: January 12th, 1975 Height: 6'1 Weight: 171 lbs. Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Hazel Skin Tone: Caramel Subject History Files: Born to a musical education teacher and a journalist, João lived in Porto Alegre for the first two years of his life before his father received a lucrative business opportunity in the co-ownership of an orchard in São Joaquim. Thus the family moved north, a sharp contrast to the humid weather of Porto Alegre, though João was much too young to understand this. The winter snows came and passed, the orchards blossomed and languished. João attended a Catholic private school, his father's wealth compensating, and proved erudite from the beginning. He was able to read before the other boys, and behaved himself well, a favorite of teachers and students for his wit and friendly nature. Through the years, his father came to be loved by the community for much of the same characteristics exhibited by his son. He ran for local office in 1983 and rose in the polls year by year, just as young João rose in his class ranks. In the 1989 elections, his father was appointed to the Federal Senate, representing the Worker's Party. A time of political instability following the reinstatement of the president in 1985, João's father loaned and bribed to not only give himself a measure of political security, but his family as well. In 1992, João being 17 and at the top of his class, adept with his pen, a piano player, a scholar of history, artistic, and acutely interested in the sciences and mathematics, had his life overturned when his father was attacked in the streets of Brasília on his way to the airport. His loan had come due, and key players were less than happy about the policies and reforms proposed by the Worker's Party. In Braulio they found a scapegoat, a pre-emptive to a full scale defacement of the Worker's Party. They warned that they would go after his family next if he continued on his course. Hospitalized, he sent message to Iara in São Joaquim of the attack, and of the threat. Other members of the Party were attacked that very night, and even some relatives taken hostage. The chaos escalating was far too familiar. He counseled her to take the family, João and his sister Luiza, to a neighboring country for political asylum. The family fled to Venezuela, but in 1992 were caught up in the coups and their residence there became a quickly deteriorating possibility. It was João first who proposed the idea of the U.S.S.A. Much news of the prosperity and stability of the socialist states had reached him, and the rumors of great and mighty cities peopled by the enlightened he nurtured in his heart. In 1992, the family immigrated to the U.S.S.A., to the city of San Fransisco. All spoke English and thus integrated well into the American society. News of their father came soon after their arrival: he was under government protection, safe and sound, and wished them all well. Once more João excelled at his studies. He spoke five languages fluently, wrote novellas, painted on weekends, played the school piano in the afternoons, was a worthy adversary in the debate team; however, his experiences with his father, his tendency to isolation, and his extreme intelligent shrouded him in an aura of cold insatiability. He was positively tenacious in his studies, but in all other facets of social life he expressed disinterest. It was a few months after his graduation that the Brown shirts contacted him, the ruthless secret police of the U.S.S.A. He had been observed, studied, for the period that he had been in America, and even before. He was clever and calculating, like a tactician: he could see the bigger picture, could recognize and manipulate the players, and know when to avoid and when to embrace the powers at be. They promised him good pay, a citizenship, a long term and respectable employment, and an interesting and righteous job, facilitating the further justice of the glorious republic. And he took it. He left it all, his family, his further education, his art, his music, everything. The enigmatic order of spies and saboteurs, and the opportunity to gain universal acceptance and respect, seduced him. The next morning he was gone, with a note of farewell the only closure his mother would ever receive. He traveled the nation, and did his job to the best of his ability. He was cold and calculating. He was ruthless and clever. He rose in the ranks and became one of the key operatives in the network, aloof and insidious, powerful and hard: the secret weapon of the U.S.S.A.'s regime. João's alias within the order was Sap, garnered from his ruthless interrogation policies, described as "sapping the life out of the accused, and tasting it". At times he felt subhuman, at times he felt like a titan, but always he felt powerful and cunning, like a predator in the rushes, a spider weaving its gossamer threads, an adder in the underbrush. Medical Data: None in particular. Received surgeries for multiple broken bones. Current Subject Information: Aged 36. Resides in Miami, Florida. Currently not on any assignment, but coordinating with the tops on their next move. |
