Their footsteps echoed through the area, emitting a louder noise than what was produced. What made it worse was that Susan was actually noticing this. Of course, she was also listening to what the Colonel was doing as well. She wasn't looking at him as they waited for the elevator to arrive, but she did noticed the ipad that was now keeping his full attention. He seemed to be trying to receive a list of all the items he was trying to obtain from Reed's lab, and it was likely items in which she had no clue were there.

Once it arrived though, she made her way inside, placing her glasses within the outer pocket of her lab coat. She probably wouldn't need them for now, most of the information Reed held was large in print, so it wouldn't be so much of a strain to read. That was, if she'd be able to read anything at all. SHIELD was very secure in keeping their matters private, and she was sure that even James would make sure that this policy didn't change. Her hands remained at her front, waiting for Rhodes to get on as well as the doors closed behind him.

Susan didn't say anything on the way down, she wasn't sure what to say about where they were going. It was simply an area in which she rarely ventured, at least...not without Reed being there. They respected each others privacy, yet shared what they could when they could do so. At times though, it felt as though she did more sharing than Reed, and he simply wished to keep everything from her, especially the important things. It really made her wonder just how much she knew about Reed now?

Her thoughts were halted as the steel doors opened, revealing the completely white and silver corridor. Its walls were lined with glass windows, allowing the view of many the teams former machines, vehicles, and even at the remains of the first N-Zone dimensional teleporter that Reed created, the very thing that had given them powers. Seeing all this caused many memories to flow through her, some good and others bad. But she couldn't have seen herself doing anything else at the time.

"We're almost there....It should be just beyond that first door..."

James walked the long silver and white corridor straight up to the door at the end. He entered the lab and strolled straight up to a huge computer. Then the Colonel connected a wire from his war-pad, into the back of the computer.

“Copy and store all data concerning S.H.I.E.L.D, and S.H.I.E.L.D experiments. After that is completed, delete the data.” said Colonel Rhodes to his war-pad. A bar appeared on the pad's screen, showing the job was in progress

“Ok, so that should pretty much take care of the all the confidential flies I need to retrieve. I'll wait for that to finish, then we'll precede to the collection of the actual experimen--.”

Before he could finish his last sentence, the lights went off and red siren light came on in the room. Steel closed off the elevator entrance

“I think it's the security system, can you turn it off?” said James to Susan, as he tried to scan the pitch black room, only by the aid of spinning red siren lights.

"I should be able to...Just give me a moment..."

It looked like Reed had made all the needed measures for a possible theft of his data and research. But still, something just didn't seem right. She had put in his password, as well as went through the normal process that he had always done, but why were these sirens going off around them? Yes, something indeed was happening here and she was starting to get concerned about what else the man had been working on in his spare time.

Moving quickly up to the computer key panel, Susan swiftly got to work on trying to deactivate the security protocol. Bu despite all her best efforts, something was keeping her out. Though its presence was known as a voice could be heard from the surrounding walls. This was the worse thing that could happen, Reed had an AI within his computer system, and none of them were Reed.

UNAUTHORIZED USER! SECURITY DROIDS ACTIVATED!

With that statement, the screen turned black, but the sirens continued to fill the room. Susan looked towards the previous room and soon saw ten metal plated droids slowly walk from their storage containers within the walls. The young woman then backed away as she knew that this could only end badly, but it was the only way for her to actually get back into the system.

"How long do you think it will take for you to get back into the system James?!"

Before James could answer Susan's question, two of the metal plated droids speedup to James. With force they slammed the man against the cold metal wall. Pinned against the wall by the two driods, he was helpless as a three droid ran and kicked the man in the gut. On impact, blood flew up out of the man's mouth. Mercilessly the droid slugged away at Colonel Jame's face, with punch after punch.

In a low voice, James said “Activate War Machine.” A black S.H.I.E.L.D icon begun blinking from his wristwatch. Above the lower labs, parked in front of the Baxter Building, Rhodes' German sports car transformed into War Machine, and then flew through the wall. The armor busted it's way through the elevator entrance located at the first security panel. It then descended down the elevator shaft, and into where the elevator was stopped.

From inside the elevator, the suit easily opened the metal elevator doors. However when the security alert was activated, a metal panel blocked the entrance way from the elevator to the the white and silver corridor. Forcibly the armor tried to pound it's way through the reinforced panel. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

“Susan I need my suit! My suit is blocked at the hall!” He screamed out while being beaten, hoping she could somehow help the suit to enter through.

As the droids prepared to go another round upon Colonel Rhodes, they would soon find resistance as an invisible field would prevent them from doing any more damage to his person. Susan had her hand outstretched towards him, holding the field as best she could while also defending the room with a clear barrier that was preventing any more droids from getting in. Of course, this could only last for so long and Susan would have to release the fields at some point. Hearing the pounding that was coming from the outside security wall, the young woman then heard Rhodes shout about getting his armor through. Of course, that would be a good thing to have, the problem was how to do it?

Doing her best to focus her thoughts over the constant fighting that surrounded her, the scientist then came up with an idea that might help them. It would take a lot of effort, but if she could push the ones at the room's entrance into the security wall. If she was right about Reed's design for these machines, their explosive effects would be enough to possibly help weaken the density of the wall, allowing the armor to easily get through. This would leave them defenseless though, and that could be a problem if these things were still swarming within the walls of this lab. Susan's gaze shifted from the barrier she had surrounding the Colonel, to the invisible wall that was protecting them from the onslaught of machines outside.

It wouldn't take Johnny this long to figure out that this was their best shot, and she was supposed to be smart one. The Invisible first unleashed the field around Rhodes, causing the three droids to scatter into their air before landing in all different directions within the room. Then, Susan turned her attention towards the entrance, using her invisible wall to pushes the machines back with enough force to cause somewhat of a domino effect. The metal beings crashed into themselves and the walls, but the majority slammed right into the security wall. This in turn caused an multiple explosion from that area of the lab, a burst of flames almost halfway within their location. From that alone, the wall was somewhat melting slowly, which was what she wanted to some degree. Now all they had to do was wait for the War Machine armor to break through.

Yet just when she was about to turn to check on the Colonel, a metal arm would swing out from the side of the room, knocking Susan into one of the many computer modules within the room. Struggling to rise back up, the girl would then see that the droid was already on her, using its arm to put pressure upon her frame as she was pinned against the computer screen. The woman was still somewhat exhausted from her last action, so attempting to use her powers once more after that was putting a lot of strain on herself. But, she managed to do it, crushing the droids head before pushing its body away from her with invisible force. Susan then just sat there, looking at the entrance as she could see that more were on their way, slowly rising from within the walls, caring less about the flames that their previous counterparts had created in their explosion.

Breathing heavily, Susan finally looked at her friend with a serious expression as she asked him one more question before wiping the small trace of blood from her neck.

"Please tell me that armor can get through....."

Invisible Woman placed a force field around Colonel Rhodes, shielding him from the droids' blows. With ease he slide to the floor. Blood ran down from his nose, and open cuts on his face. Intensely James watched as Susan dealt with the droids, and weakened the security wall holding back the War Machine armor.

“Yeah... that should do it.” Rhodes said as the War Machine armor finally fired down the security wall and entered the lab. The armor broke off into pieces, and then attached the appropriate pieces, to the appropriate body part. Now fully suited up, James floated over to Susan, however just as he landed, the lab's AI system said “High-level threats, release Advance Security Units 1 & 2.” The wall behind James rose up to reveal a hidden room.

Inside the room were three prototype droids. One by one, the A.I. System charged the advance droids based off of the Vision. Once they were fully charged, the cords connected to the droids popped off. “Unit 1, activated.”

“Ok... if that is Unit 1, then where is Unit 2?” said James as he shot a energy blast from his palms at the three droids. It threw the three droids back, but they were back up in a manner of seconds, and shot plasma beams right back at James. War Machine went flying backwards, slamming against a steel wall.

"I think we should just focus on unit 1...."

Susan looked back to make sure Rhodes was ok, but then quickly created a field around her arm to use as a shield for the moment.Just how much did SHIELD give Reed in his research work for them? Did they go so far as to give him blueprints to the robot that had been discovered by the Ultimates? The one that had been said to warn of an eater of planets? She wanted to ask him right there what it was that Reed was working on, but was interrupted as a plasma blast collided into the invisible shield around her arm, pushing her back somewhat.

She wasn't even sure how they were to disarm these things? Even as she used her invisible fields to push them back, they just seemed to rise up and keep attacking. What kind of armor plating did her former teammate put on these beings? It had to be tough considering it took on War Machine's attacks as if they were nothing. Susan found herself almost interested in doing some tests herself, though she quickly pulled herself out of that kind of thinking. This wasn't the time to be a scientist.

The three droids in front of them just took what was dished out, and keep on getting back up. Weapon after weapon, only put the droids down momentarily. Unit 1 was enough to cope with, James could only hope that Unit 2 was nowhere near.

He keep firing everything he had, or at least everything he could uses without blowing up the entire Baxter Building. Then an idea came to him. Cannons rose from his shoulder, and weapon compartments began to reveal throughout the suit.

Swiftly he fired missiles that could take out a whole block at the droids, along with every other weapon he had attached to the armor. “CONTAIN THE EXPLOSION, AND COMPRESS THE FIELD around the droids.” He screamed out through the armor's intercom.

However one droid managed to move completely out of the line of fire. This droid jumped onto War Machine. War Machine and the Droid went blow for blow as they fall back near the lab entrance.

Susan wasn't sure about this idea, especially considering the damage that it might inflict upon Rhodes for just being in the area with the droids. But, at the moment if things continued as they did, the whole lower level of the building would be destroyed. So confining them into one area seemed to be the best call for the time. Yet, if this was done it would have to be completed quickly. If there was one thing she was confident about, it was the extent of her powers and the strain that it caused it when used within such specific waves.

Watching as War Machine battled with one the machines near the lab entrance, Susan swiftly used her abilities to push the remain two away from herself and into the same area as James and the droid. From there, she created the field around them and held it firm with all her strength. At this point, she was pretty defenseless, which meant trouble if there were any more robots within this part of the building. So now she really was thinking about the other units location.

"Whatever your planning James...Do it soon! I can't keep this up forever..."

With all the droids now in the same area, in the same force field bubble, and surrounded by the contained explosion, Colonel Rhodes used everything he had and blasted the droids back with a wide-range energy blast. Stunned, the droids were slammed against the barriers. Slowly they inched to get back to their feet.

With a window of time opened, Rhodes blasted off at full speed to the top of the force field. He screamed out to Susan “OPEN A SPACE FOR ME TO GET OUT, AND THEN RELEASE THE EXPLOSION IN ON THEM.” At full speed he headed to the crown of the force field, either she opened it in time, or the War Machine armor went slat against the force field.

Inches away from the top of the force field, James closed his eyes.
