yeah, lmao, i couldn't even finish reading this i was laughing so hard... (and I'm sorry if anyone is this hardcore as he is, as I will probably start overstepping boundaries ^_^) http://www.exposingsatanism.org/harrypotter2.htm I mean, yeah, granted, he makes a couple of good points (from what i read), but damn people! Get over it! It's just a freaking book!!! If you let something as small as AN ENTERTAINMENT OUTLET - no matter what the author's intentions are (are you the author? no, so you wouldn't know anyways) - affect your life and your commitment to your religion as much as he has, you need some SERIOUS help. This is produced and sold for the entertainment of children and adults alike. Although the later books are darker stories in general with darker themes, they can still be read and enjoyed by the younger readers. And to be honest, I think it's plain out retarded that someone would react this way. Me? I'm a Christian. I'd like to think I'm a pretty good Christian at that. Yeah, I curse and have the occasional - well, okay, maybe that's being polite - perverted joke, but I still try to be a good guy and stick up for my religion and the God that I love and worship. Saying that, I will also make this statement: you will NEVER see or hear me say this sort of stuff about a book and/or let it take over my life (haha, Number 23, sorry, couldn't resist) when I have MUCH better things to be doing. I love the Harry Potter series and have overly enjoyed the time I've spent reading it. Does this immediately make me a Satanist/Pagan/Atheist? No, it just means I enjoy a good book. Yes, as this man has obviously proven, if you look hard enough in ANY book (why segregate the just the ones about witchcraft and big purple dinosaurs and resurrected lions?) you will find something, whether it be good or bad, pertaining to your religion. Deal with it! Don't let it consume you. IT'S JUST A BOOK! Don't like it? Don't read it, don't bitch. Oh, and btw, his name's Nearly-Headless Nick, not Nearly-Headless Dick, dick. And I apologize again for my bitching on this subject. |

it's so great how people can see things in a different way. it might be wrong and it might be right. but then again, seeing j.k. rowling's background might prove the opiniated man/woman wrong. she was just a regular person trying to make it in the world. i don't think she had any secret messages when she was struggling to get by in the world. poor people don't have that kind of luxury. :C |

yeah, and i finally stopped laughing long enough to read it (even though i was laughing then too) and its just... I don't see how someone can have THIS much resentment for a book. and saying that Harry showing Lucius that he gave Dobby his sock is homosexual references? that's probably the dumbest thing he/she said. and yeah, i know what you mean, cause after i read the first couple of books i read the little mini encyclopedia she made and her biography thingie. she said she thought it up in... it was either a cafe or a train???? either way, she thought this up when it was just her and her daughter living in some run-down apartment/house/whatever. |
