Here's a new challenge I've thought up for this old game... Requirements: - Original Nintendo Duck Hunt cartridge - NES - Zapper gun - An LCD HDTV (this is part of the challenge) - A CRT TV Connect your game system to your HDTV as you would normally. DO NOT connect the CRT TV to the gaming system at all just plug it into the wall with snow showing or change it to some random channel. Here is an example of what I mean: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/dbg...m/Duck_Hunt.jpg What's the challenge? Simply play Duck Hunt on your HDTV. Why do you need the CRT TV? Oh that's the fun part... You see the Zapper gun does not work on HDTV's* so you'll have to aim at the CRT TV. Your aim will be inaccurate, sometimes very inaccurate depends on what you're watching I guess. With practice you won't have this problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP-ntOIiKUI What's the point in this challenge? To make a simple, easy game impossibly hard. *Due to the Zapper's technological limitations, it is not compatible with HDTVs. The video processing built into a HDTV (scaling, upconverting) can cause a time delay of several frames with the picture output by the console so that even well-aimed shots, which would register as "true" on standard televisions, almost always fail as a result of this time latency. |
