Nami looked up at the student and immediately got a whiff of his smell. It smelled horrid, like a dead person. Plus, he reeked of blood. But, she shook her head and stood, ignoring the fits of giggles from the young girl in the bed. The ears and tail disappeared, but her face remained very cat like. "And you," she said, walking over to him, "are the student that fed off of this girl?"

If he was, Nami would have to give him the emergency vial and file an official warning. He'd have to sign it, stating he knows that the next time this happens he will receive a punishment at her discretion and that he has received the emergency vial. That is all she would do, as promised to Jessica.

Had Nami not promised to the bed ridden student that she would not punish him, she would've had the boy attend two hour long detentions. But, she was honorable to her word and would keep her promise.

Though there were others in the room, Takai focused immediately on the four he was concerned with: the girl on the bed, her teacher and the Headmistress, and the nurse who, at his entrance, moved to the other side of Jessica's bed. He could not reach Jessica unless he passed either the Headmistress or the nurse, though the teacher could intercept him before he made it that far, if he wished. Surprise, shock, and anger flitted across Jessica's face, to be quickly replaced with nervous giggling. Takai mentally put pressure on the temporary mental connection he shared with the terrified girl; a soothing stroke, like comforting a scared cat. The giggles coming from the bed trailed off, and Takai felt Jessica mentally calm down.

Turning his full attention to the Headmistress, he watched her cat ears and tail retract back into her body. Hmm, Takai wondered, Does she not have enough control, or is she leaving the feline facial features intentionally? The former was unlikely, since she was the Headmistress. So why? to intimidate me? or perhaps she keeps it to retain the enhanced senses of her cat form? Though Takai knew not whether demons had enhanced senses in their normal forms, the last seemed to make the most sense.

Takai had walked in the room with a plan, though, of course, plans never work out perfectly. He could not approach Jessica without interference, especially if he ignored the question just presented to him. But what to say? It would not be in his best interests to insult the Headmistress, and Johann would be extraordinarily angry if he got himself kicked out. That would much worse than anything the Headmistess could do, so it directed Takai's response.

"Yes," the vampire said smoothly, his face unchanged from the same cool composure he had walked in with. Nothing else; his answer fulfilled the request of knowledge, and could not be read as anything other than exactly what it was. No use getting this conversation - and situation - mixed up because of miscommunication and women reading more into things than was meant by them. Though, women can read legions into a one word answer, Takai sighed to himself.

Intrigued, the cat demon tilted her head to one side. The boy had confessed. If it had been any other teen, they would've denied it fully and then gave up when she questioned. She retracted her cat like features from her face. No need to try to scare him. At least, not yet.

What made Nami intrigued more was the fact that only one look from the boy calmed the girl in the bed down. She turned to Dimitri and said, "Will you stay here with Miss Jessica, Dimitri-kun? We'll be right back." Then she turned back to the vampire and said, "Walk with me." It was not a question, but a command. She started to walk to the door, expecting him to follow.

He seems intelligent enough. Perhaps just a one time mishap. Nevertheless, he needs to be straightened out. I don't want students to think its alright to attack another student. He will be my example. Of course, I won't really punish him, but he will need to look like he got punished, the cat demon thought with a sigh.

Jessica found herself inexplicably calmed. She realized how ridiculous she had been - laughing at a time like this! But with the calm came another feeling she could not describe. The confused girl did not know of the mental connection she temporarily shared with the one who took blood from her, and how the strange calm she felt was the result of that. She only knew that everything now seemed... different... and she could see the situation more clearly.

Here she was, and here the boy now was, and he had just confessed. It was his choice to do the action, and his choice to be up front about it, there was no reason for Jessica to continue trying to protect him. She shouldn't have even tried in the first place, really. Though, now that he was here, Jessica felt deep trust towards him, but the worry for his safety was gone. The way he carried himself, how he was so calm even while confessing - he could take anything the Headmistress could do to him. Plus, she had promised not to really punish him. Why do I feel as if I should trust him? that part hung up her thoughts. It made no logical sense at all! Though she had lost logic long ago...

Jessica was not surprised when Headmistress Nami asked the boy to leave with her, but she did wonder how the conversation would go. The boy seemed strong, and the Headmistress did as well, and Jessica knew that when it came to strong-willed people, they go for what they want, and fight for it. She had seen enough disagreements between her parents to know that it didn't need to come to fighting, verbally or physically, to have a true war for power. Curiosity had hold of her, but there was nothing she could do about it at the moment, so she closed her eyes and layed back on the pillow.

Change of plans, Takai deciding, glancing again at the bedridden girl. Her mind felt much calmer now, so he let go of it entirely. It subsided to a soft tickle in the back of his mind. I'll deal with Headmistress Nami first, then come back for Jessica. If the Headmistress did not let him come back, he would just have catch her another time. Perhaps it was a better idea: a private conversation would be more desirable.

As he turned to obediently follow the Headmistress, he noticed the cat features had disappeared from her face. She looks much better without it anyways, he thought with a mental chuckle. Stepping quickly, Takai made it to the door before the Headmistress, pulled it open, and held it for her. He did not speak. I'll make this quick, tell her what she wants to hear, and leave. Lucky for Takai, he was pretty sure what the Headmistress wanted to hear was what he wanted to say. Though she was not the one he wished to say it to. Really, it was a personal matter between him and Jessica, and he wanted only to apologize to her. It was true that the Headmistress had every right to interfere in a matter such as this, but Takai did not like it one bit.

Takai did not like his whole situation one bit. Jessica had tasted good, true, but it was not worth all the fuss. No blood Takai had ever tasted was worth the disaster of a situation this had become. Though, Takai thought, running his tongue along the back of his teeth, I can still taste her. As always, the residue of their momentary connection, both physical and mental, prolonged the pleasure of the experience. Takai could still taste her, in his mouth and in his mind. Though the latter faded with distance, the connection to another still brought him a bit of euphoria. It was dangerous to get caught in that feeling, though, for with that cloud in the mind, a vampire that has just fed is at his weakest.

As soon as they were out of earshot of the infirmary, Nami could tell the boy was anxious. Maybe he wanted to apologize. Maybe he just had homework. She'd like to think he was going to apologize to Jessica. Most of her students were well rounded and would do the same. He seemed to feel really bad about the mishap and, so, she got right to the point.

"Now, Takai (she knew each of her students, so it needed not be that he said his name), I can feel that you really are sorry about what happened. And I, being a busy person, would like to get about my day as quickly as possible, so," Nami said, not turning to him. She reached into her pocket and took out the vial, "Here," she held it out to him, finally turning to face him, "This is an emergency sample of blood. It'll be enough to keep you from attacking until you are off school grounds. I knew upon opening the school that there may be incidents like this, but, surprisingly, this one is one of the few. I've been able to scare most of my students into making sure to feed often so accidents don't happen."

Then, Nami looked out the nearest window to see the other students running about happily, not knowing anything about what was going on inside. Which was a good thing, because she needed Takai's full cooperation and their unknowings of the current situation if the plan was to work. "If anyone asks you what I did to you, you will say that you barely made it out of being expelled and say that you got a week's worth of detentions because of how honest and responsible for your own actions you were. An hour after class each day, I need you to disappear, as if you are in private detentions with me. You may go off grounds, stay in your dorm, whatever. Just make it seem like you got in trouble," she said in a serious tone, "And don't mention to anyone about that emergency vial. And as long as you do those things, you are off the hook."

Aghast, Takai had to hurredly regain his composure before he could speak. I nearly killed that girl, and she's too busy to punish me for it! His eyes narrowed, pupils constricting, as he looked at his Headmistress. "That will be unnecessary," he said icily; his voice had frozen from the coolness of his earlier calm demeanor to cold rage. "Once a mistake like this has been made, it will not happen again. Those vials are meant to be precautionary, they do no good after the fact. Unless you insist on providing every vampire in the school with one of those precautionary vials, I will not take it."

Though the Headmistress would "let him off the hook", Takai had no intention of letting himself do such an atrocious thing and escaping punishment. "No one saw anything, so no one will ask about it, but I will play along with your game. I will hide away for your "detentions", and if anyone asks, I will tell them your story." Takai was done with the Headmistress, she was breaking his calm. "If that is all, I need to go do the thing you should have already made me do," he stated, regaining control, and bringing his voice back to its normal distant coolness. Turning, he took the few steps back to the infirmary and slipped through the door.
