Daemon was lounging around in a plaza. It was a nice plaza, had some trees, a fountain, and a mid-level view of the nearby city-scape. It was pretty high up, being a platform spawning off the side of a large commercial district building. Honestly, when he thought about it, this Mars reminded him of Coruscant from the Star Wars movies. All high tech, an almost planet-wide metropolis. It was nice. There was only one problem. "I have no fucking clue what to do." From what Daemon had ascertained, there was an Earth in this universe. It also wasn't his Earth. It had had it's own apocalyptic thing happen, but it wasn't meteor day. Colesprite didn't know what to do either, cuz this was outside the parameters of the game he was designed for. He was curious if Paradox Space had anything to do with this. Probably; considering it'd be paradoxical for something to NOT involve Paradox Space. But as it was, Daemon was currently aimless, having just finished an amusing conversation with a Gummi Ship salesman. Daemon was in apparent need of a Gummi Ship to navigate the worlds, but to do that, he needed "Munny" of which he had none. So now he needed to figure out if he needed to get a job, or if there was an easier way of getting Munny. |

As Zeke spoke out loud there were a few things that the A.I would address to the teen. "Actually, that is not entirely true. Just because Adam has the key does not make him captain. All it required to fully power up the ship was a descendant of Shoujax to hold the key and enter it. If Eve did the same it would have had the same effects. And now that the ship is fully operational, you could even be the captain which in my opinion, might be the best outcome. Either that or the engine systems as you could properly look over the power levels with ease. Eve would actually make a good captain however I cannot help but notice she seems to be . . . distant from the rest. You need to be communicative as a Capetian. And Adam? Oh heavens no. I would very much prefer he not be the captain even if he has that Key. He would be much better suited for . . . I don't even think I want him on a station. But he needs one. Ugh. Maybe navigation? That seems to be the safest one. Ah wait a sec." A much of symbols popped up and stations flashed left and right. "It seems I have made an error. Huh. Operating at full capacity will take some getting used to I suppose. The third seat is not the Navigations station. It seems Shoujax had Navigations tied in with the Captain Station, which does make more sense to me. The third station seems to be communications, which I think Adam would be perfect at seeing at he just looooooooves to talk." It was then that the boy started to have a conversation with his fox and the A.I couldn't help but chuckle. He could understand many emotions, but love was the only one that he would never be able to fully comprehend. As they spoke it would be best to get the other operations and systems run for a full analysis. "Let me get the inventory up and running to make sure we are properly stocked for the battle. As for videos of Shoujax, I do not believe there are any here. In fact, there are very few video files here and half of them seem to be locked and encoded to where I even can't break in. How peculiar. It seems there is a very strong wall but a simple pass code is all that is needed for access. I'll see what I can do Zeke." Meanwhile Adam began a nice conversation with Daemon as the sun was slowly starting to rise by now. "It's not that I train in the mornings, per say. I just train when I can't sleep. In time I'm sure you'll notice I don't get much sleep." "Ooohhh. I gotcha. Man maybe I should try learning the Sleep spell and cast that on you haha." he said with a chuckle. It was then that Eve came flying through the roof and landed next to her brother, gently resting her head on his should while yawning and lazily waiving her hand. Adam would let out a soft smile and very slightly lean his head back to rest it again Eve's, a small sign of familial affection. It was then that Adam watched Daemon seemingly pull out some weird looking card out of no where then bam a towel appeared. He always wanted to know what that strange thing was. "Hey, since you guys don't have an abstract inventory management system, would you like one of my spare Fetch Modi?" Fetch Modi? Maybe that was the weird thing he was talking about yesterday. "Sure? That's that uh . . . storage thingy you were talking about right? Yeah if you got extra I wouldn't mind trying to figure it out." Having a lot more extra space sure sounded nice. Especially if it's to carry more things. "Eve, are you a brocon?" When Daemon said this Adam was very confused. He had never heard of that word before. "Brocon? Eve what's that?" With genuine curiosity, his eyes shifted over to Eve a bit as he looked over to her. Maybe she didn't even hear it as she was still half asleep. She did look rather cute though whenever she was still groggy. |

Feeling Adam’s head resting against her own, the corner of Eve’s mouth lifted ever so slightly. It was a change so small that you would have to be staring intently at her lips to notice, but she felt it. She raised a hand up to her face to move some hair out of her eyes as Daemon started going on about fetch something and did one of his tricks that made a towel appear. He seemed to be talking about some kind of storage device, which Eve figured would be useful for while they’re travelling. So when Daemon offered her and her brother one, she nodded gently. It seemed Daemon wasn’t as irritating as she first believed. “Eve, are you a brocon?” Never mind. Eve seemed to wake up very quickly. The only energy source more affective than coffee seemed to be pure rage. Completely ignoring her brother’s naive questioning, Eve stepped towards Daemon. Her eyes had widened, her eyebrows arched down towards her gritted teeth. “The did you just ask me?” Her hands began to clench tightly into fists. If he really did just ask her if she had romantic feelings towards her brother, her fist in his face was going to be the least of Daemon’s worries.

Without thinking Daemon popped up a Void wall between him and Eve for protection. "I'm sorry that just slipped out!" He said frantically, hiding from the scary half-angel. Adam likely had no idea what was going on, something that made Daemon want to chuckle with dark humor. She's gonna kill me and he'll have no idea why. Wanting to distract them both from his verbal fumble, Daemon quickly grabbed all his spare Modi cards and chucked them over the wall where they fell in front of the two. All over the floor were a variety of Modi cards such as Queue, Stack, Array, Wheel, Tree, Hash Map, a collection of board-game based Modi, Wallet, Tech-Hop, Recipe, Puzzle, Miracle, and more. |

"So, lemme get this straight...." Zeke started after listening to Reginald. The A.I. looked at him perplexed. "Hm?" "There's a firewall that is preventing even you to get into the confinds of the files? Of all people and beings.... the shipboard A.I.?" "Hey now. Don't get me wrong. I can't hack just about anything. But, if there is something Shoujax didn't want us to see then hey. It must be important or secretive enough for even myself to not get pass it. And he created me." He said while letting out a chuckle. Zeke shrugged. "True..... But there are some things that we must say 'Screw it' and just go for the bitchin' loot." "Hhhmmm. I suppose I can agree with you on that one. But I cannot understand what could be so important that he would keep a secret even from me. And at that point, why even bother to have this information on the ship?" "Maybe a message for the wife?"Zeke mused. "The wife? No. Lady Mei . . . Is no longer with us. She passed many years ago." "Maybe someone else then? Logs that he recorded to send at a later date?" "It could be porn." That baffled Zeke, but it got the gears turning in his head. And soon it made him curious to the point of needing the answer. For if it was... this would be too good for words. "Okay. I'm curious now." Zeke placed his palm on the console and surged his powers as he used Mechanized Warfare. "Oh dear. And what do you have planned this time?" "I'm gonna help hack into it..... Although, you'll have first dibs on viewing it. I'll just crack it open for you, nothing else." Zeke smiled fiendishly. Already he started to decrypt the code, and already he noticed that there were many to unlock. He had no idea where to start, but he figured alphanumeric wouldn't hurt for now. |

Reginald was amused. There was a lot of effort that was being put in just for this to be going on. He would let Zeke do his thing but for now, he would continue his calibrations of the systems and double check the inventory. They would need to be well stocked on items especially if they were going to be traveling for a while. There was again, a confessed look on Adam's face as he saw Eve and Daemon bicker over a word that he didn't even understand. Daemon seemed to apologize really quick but also let out a chuckle and then took out a bunch of cards which quickly got Adam's attention. "Ooooooooo." It was easy to tell that Adam was easily fascinated and this got his attention entirely. "So these things . . . let me store things? How?" His eyes were wide with excitement. He was about to touch one of them when a voice rang out from below. "Eh! Where you damn Keiki stay? Stay time for breakfast come get some kau kau!" Again Kawika would be speaking in his funny accent and using his weird vocabulary. Adam didn't get much but breakfast was all it took to get his attention. "Oh boy food!" Faster than anyone would realize the half angel would flap his wings hard and immediately dash back down the hole and fly into the kitchen. It was there that he desummoned his wings and would get ready to eat. "What's for breakfast Uncle Kawika?" "Ohoho! I'm glad you asked. We got ourselves here a local favorite. Nicely scrambled eggs served with sliced up mild Portuguese Sausage and some nice white rice for a starch. Got some condiments on the counter if you wanna add anything special, and then we have nice local styled canned juice nicely chilled in da cooler ova der. Help yourselves guys. Eat up I made a lot." Kawika wasn't exaggerating. There was a ton of food, enough to feed an army. Kawika's Breakfast Feast Without even waiting for the others he would make his food. A scoop of white rice with a few scoops of scrambled eggs and a handful of sausage slices. He put his plate of food down and reached in the cooler to squeal with delight. "Asdfghjkl Apple Iced Tea my favorite!" The can was quickly grabbed then together with his food and drink Adam would have a seat and start to eat. After eating for a bit Adam would wait for his two friends to join him on the table and once he waited, he would ask Daemon a question, assuming Daemon came to eat right away. "So how exactly does that Modi thingy work?" If Daemon didn't come right away he would simply eat his food with a happy look on his face. |

Eve deliberately ignored the Modi cards that were being thrown over Daemon's wall. He had some nerve thinking he could insult her and get away with it. But he did immediately apologise, so Eve decided to just give up on it. She'd beat him up later - she knew she could. And once Adam had dashed off to get food, she knew she wouldn't be able to do anything about Daemon's attitude now; her stomach wouldn't allow it. With a flap of her wings, Eve followed her brother eagerly. She certainly liked food. Eve's plate was piled high with equal amounts of egg, sausage, and anything else on the table that looked edible. Grabbing a can, she sat down next to her brother and began to tuck in. Adam seemed to be enjoying himself - like filling a cat's bowl with chicken. Ignoring her brother and Daemon, Eve turned to Kawika and asked in a very monotone voice "is the ship ready to go?" |

Saved by the breakfast bell! Daemon sighed with relief when Kawika called them down for breakfast and Adam and Eve quickly went for the food. With a sigh of relief, he quickly gathered up the spare Modi cards and went to the ledge. He didn't have wings, so he couldn't fly or glide down, but he could use his TK powers to Slow his descent, which is what he did, landing lightly. He sneaked over to the table and tried to avoid Eve's line of sight as he grabbed just a little bit of everything and looked in the cooler. It was all odd Hawaiian drinks he'd never seen before. He ended up grabbing a can of the Guava and sitting down, putting Adam between him and Eve. Daemon would start nibbling on the rather good food. He wasn't much of a big eater, as his slender physique would attest. He couldn't ever get much sleep, he couldn't really enjoy lots of food. Sometimes it felt like there was a void destroying anything he might enjoy. Daemon was brought out of his thoughts when Adam asked a question about the Fetch Modi, "Well, first you're going to have to take the Stack Fetch Modus, because it's easiest to start your deck with. Once you have the card, you look on the back and turn it on. From then on, when you pick something up, it'll be put into your Captchalogue Deck. You won't have any Captchalogue cards to begin with though, so you'll have to pick up these Captchalogue cards, one at a time, to add them to your deck. With the Stack Modus, anytime you pick something up, it's moved to the top of your deck, and everything else is moved down. Once your deck is full, the last card is ejected out, except with Captchalogue cards, they're added to your deck, increasing your deck size for storing more things. That's why you need to pick the cards up one at a time, to shunt them down until they're added to your deck. Once you have a decent amount of inventory storage, you can pick up and use a different Fetch Modus. Different Modus have different ways of working, the simplest being the Stack, Queue, and Array. Stack mean your cards are stacked, and you can only take out the item you most recently put in. Queue means that you can only take out the item you first put in. Array is boring, it just sets all your cards in a row and you can access any of them at any time. Some Fetch Modus are a lot more complicated, like the Hash Map where each card in your deck has a number value and the items you pick up have a number value based on the way you describe it, and if you pick up an item that has the value of a card that's already filled, then that card is ejected and replaced. And then, if you really want to spice things up, I have spare Modus Control Decks, which allow you to combine Fetch Modi to form interesting combos, like queuestacks and such. I personally use a 10x10 Wheel-Array, where I have ten spinnable wheels of ten cards each, I spin the wheels to find the item I need to draw it out. I use different wheels for different categories of storage." Daemon took a break from his explanations to sip his drink. "Any questions? Oh, and do ya'll have Strife Portfolios? If you don't have Fetch Modi, then I'm assuming not, which is also weird." |

Numbers and letters flew before Zekes eyes as he went deeper into the coding to connect his mind with the system and before he knew it....... He was able to physically touch the coding as he began to translate it into zeroes-and-ones, making the entire sequence more and more known. Pop! He unlocked the first one. Zeke smiled when he started working one the second and third ones now. As soon as the energy felt more natural to him, nothing was stopping him as he stretched his consciousness across the system and focused on all digits for the password. This was a cake walk for him and he knew it. Pop! Pop! Pop! Three more were cracked and he didn't even break a sweat yet. Zeke smiled on the bridge and in cyberspace. "I think.... I already know what it is, Reg." Pop!Pop!Pop!Pop!Pop!Pop!Pop!Pop!Pop!Crack!!! More of the digits snapped into place as he found each one and as soon as the phrase came into place he couldn't help but laugh. Shoujax was rumored to be a joker, but this was more than just that. "Reg...... You'll never believe what it is.... Cause it's sixty-nine characters and supposedly the best password." Zeke said as he left cyberspace and looked over to the A.I. |

The A.I was speechless. "You're joking right? Please don't tell me that it is just the numbers six and nine over and over again sixty-nine times. That would be . . . childish." This couldn't be true. He refused it to be true. His creator, Shoujax, was a remarkable man. Smart, cunning. and well known. Why would man like that create a password so . . . immature? He didn't want to open the code. He refused. "I think . . . I'll just let you open it up Zeke. The honor is all yours." It was just then that Kawika spoke to them over the intercom system. "Eh! Zeke boy! You like breakfast or what? Come eat or else gon be no moa fo you!" Now that everyone was in the kitchen, Adam would listen to Daemon while scarfing down his food as if he hadn't eaten in years. Naturally, like the idiot he was, the boy ate too fast and actually started to choke on his own food. He would quickly take a swig of his juice can and wash it all down, already expecting Eve to be yelling in his face about eating so fast. If she did scold him he would respond with "But the food was so gooooood." It was this next part that would cause Adam to once again, have his brain fry. Smoke would visually be pouring out of his ears as every thing that Daemon said flew over his head. He was slowly starting to understand at first but when it got about half way through it was just a big pile of NOPE. His brain was dead, fizzed. "Uhhhh. Um. Can you . . . repeat that again please? Or maybe . . . say it slower?" Adam felt a bit ashamed that he couldn't get it but he couldn't help it. His brain just . . . didn't work like other brains. To answer Eve, Kawika would speak up. "It is. Or it should be. Zeke went to go check up on the ship this morning. Should be done by now. Hold on let me call him." The man took his a device out and began to speak into it. "Eh! Zeke boy! You like breakfast or what? Come eat or else gon be no moa fo you!" A smile was on his face. "When Zeke gets here he can tell us the status of the ship, but you guys should be able to leave today. Also, after breakfast, I have gifts for you lot. All of you." |

Noticing Adam start to choke on his food, Eve slapped her hand on his back and said in a stern voice "god dammit Adam you'll kill yourself if you don't eat slower!" She was always having to look after him. Despite his age, he certainly wasn't independent. She nodded to Kawika. Giving him a quiet "thank you", she went back to her food. She wanted to leave immediately. She didn't much care about his gift, unless it actually had something to do with her father. She just wanted to get moving, she didn't like staying here and owing Kawika such a debt. He'd done too much for them already. |
