Even if Darkness consumes me... my Light shall never die out.
A portal ripped in space in the alley between two buildings. Out stepped a young teen, who looked around the area he was in. Orion glanced up at the sky and smiled brightly. The young teen stepped out into the street and started to wander the streets. I need to find a ship. he thought to himself as he tucked his arms into the sleeves of his robes. His hair hanging low as he walked with his hood up.

He was walking for an hour before he found what appeared to be a workshop of sorts. He entered the building hoping he could get himself a ship.

"Hello?" He says loudly.

When the light faded and Orion saw he was alone. He glared as he saw the man go away. Using his power he lowered the pillar back into the ground and he look around at the damage. Behind his helmet, he grimaced. And he felt ashamed of what he did. He reached back and undid the helmet and took it off. He loomed down at the ground and then back up at Nova with a look of shame on his face.

"I am so sorry about the damage, Sir." He said as he took in just what happened, "I will help fix everything. I also did not fight him for the ship."

He dismissed his form and his sword. He frowned as he held up his crystal that shifted through all the colors of the elements. I am still too unstable with this... I need find my anchor... he thought to himself as he looked at the ground again before looking up at Kova.

At first, Kova was going to give Orion a long lecture but then he realized that he was being honest and sincere. He might have been able to act mature but under that demeanor he was still a kid. "Eh. Don't sweat it kid. Accidents happen. Today's been a crazy day, much more than I thought it would have been. So just relax. As for the damage, well. You can let the city take care of that. But for the damage done to the shop, it doesn't seem to be that bad." The man turned around and looked at his shop. Truth be told the damage done to the shop was minimal. Wasn't all too bad. Everything else did look pretty bad though. "But for that, I can just put it on your tab right?" He turned around again to Orion and put a soft smile on his face to try and not make a big deal out of the event. "Either that or you can help me fix up the place itself. I don't trust any other repair companies to fix the place. They might try to steal my parts. But you kid, you might be a bit crazy but I can trust you. I mean, you did drive those guys away in the end so you have my thanks. So what do you say?" As he finished speaking Kova would extend his arm out in a handshake to Orion.

Orion grabbed Kiva's hand and shook it. He smiled at the older man and nodded his head. He was relieved that he was not angry at the teen. "I can help clean up. I do not plan on taking anything." He said as he chuckled. He turned to look at the shop when his Chibi smacked into his face, hugging his face with it's tower-like arms/front legs. It whirred and chirped in a mechanical way.

Orion had a shocked look on his face when it happened. He busted out laughing for a second when he heard the noises. "Alexander, I am fine... My insanity has passed..." He says as he suddenly gets a look on his face. For now... He though to himself. He followed after Kova into the shop. He went to grab a broom and started to help clean the shop.

"Good. Keep up that friendly spirit and maybe. Just maybe I can trust you more kid. For now, I'll let you clean all of this up. Also I need to contact my glass fixture friend. See if he can get me a window." The old man for now satisfied, went inside of the shop and went to work.

A few hours would go by and the sun was beginning to slowly drift under the horizon. The entire mess was more or less cleaned up. The ground was fixed as much as possible and all of the glass was swept up as well. "Well kid, you did a good job today. You'll be seeing a lot of me from now on as well with that tab you owe me." The last part was mostly said as a joke as Kova left out a soft chuckle. "So you got a place to stay at? You say you got some money but I ain't ever seem you before so I know you're traveling. There ain't any hotels near by either. If you want, I guess you could stay in a spare room for now. And don't worry about paying me back for that. It's the least I can do for you chasing off those thugs. The ship on the other hand is still business so that's another smarter altogether. So, what do you say Orion?"

"I would be honored to stay, sir." He said as he smiled at the joke. He rubbed his shoulder as he spun his arm around, getting some tension out of it. His Alexander Chibi had already been dismissed when he had started to clean up. "Of course, I did not expect to not pay for the ship. That would be just crazy." He says with a slight chuckle. The teen was smiling brightly as he put away any cleaning supplies that were left out.

He got a weird look on his face before laughing loudly. "I will make sure to pay in cash, I am sure a Dragon Diamond would not be an appropriate payment." He says laughing a bit, he obviously knew something about this gem he was speaking of, but was too busy wiping tears from his eyes. That's when he realized he was among humans, who would probably not know what he was referring to. "Ahhh, nevermind about that last part... You might not understand the joke about that, unless I told you about it."

"I see. Well why don't you teel me this joke over dinner? You can come on in it should be almost ready by now." With that Kova would walk back into the shop then walk through a pair of double doors leading to a back room. This was where the magic happened. This part of the shop was massive as it lead to the warehouse that the main shop was located in. There were a few smaller looking ships that easily fit inside with some of them being half way finished and others near completion. Kova continued to walk through the garage until he reached another set of doors that he pushed open. Outside again, there was a nice looking dirt path that lead to a small two story looking house. Immediately two little children came running to the older man and greeted him in a friendly fashion.

Kova's House

"Papa! We were so worried about the big booms! that we heard outside. Is everything alright??"

"Yeah Papa is everything okay??"

"Settle down girls. Yes everything is fine. And this kid behind me kinda helped me out actually. Orion, this is my family. These two are twins, Mina and Dina. I have two older children as well. Ah Speak of the Devil."

Mina and Dina

Walking out of the entrance to the main hour was a young man with grey hair and a mechanic uniform. "Everything alright Dad? Mom was getting worried."

Zane

"Yes yes I just explained to these two that everything is okay. Now let's all go inside I know dinner should be ready soon and Papa is hungry!" Kova smiled at his children to assure them that everything really was okay. His son smiled and opened the door while the twins ran back inside with giggles. "Oh and we'll be having someone stay with us for a while. Kid's name is Orion."

"Is that so? Well it's a good thing Mom cooks a lot. Please come in." said Zane with a curt smile. Kova would come in and gesture Orion to follow. It was rather simple looking inside and had a very homely look. There was a woman with white hair behind the counter cooking food in the kitchen with another boy sitting down at the table already.

Kitchen, Maria, and Jura

"Hey Maria I'm home. Jura, did you get hurt again? Why is there a bandage on your cheek?" he said while taking off his work boots and leaving them by the main door.

"He was climbing at the playground when he missed his step and got a cut on his cheek." the woman replied in a calm tone.

"Not! I-I got it from fighting a wild monster!"

"And is that monster's name the Playground?" his father asked with a chuckle.

" . . . yeah. Are you mad at me?" the boy asked while looking ashamed.

"Of course not. You just need to learn to be more careful alright?" the father said while patting his son on the head.

"Okkaaayyyyy." The embarrassment was gone from the boy and suddenly seemed more cheerful from earlier. After that Kova made his way into the kitchen to greet his wife. He leaned in to give her a quick peck. By now Zane had taken off his shoes as well and closed the door behind him.

"Hey so listen, Maria. We have someone who is going to be staying with us for a while. That young man over there Orion. Long story short he was a customer and broke some stuff on accident, but only because the mafia came along."

"The Mobsters? Did they come asking for 'Protection' money again?"

"Yeah. And of course I didn't give it to them, but things got a little physical. Basically Orion kinda saved my ass out there. Buuuuuuut. he caused a lot of damage while doing so. SO, imma let him pay me back while working under me for a while."

"That's quite alright Dear. We have the spare room in the loft still. Well, you can tell me the rest later dinner will be finished soon alright?"

"Of course. Thank you for understanding. Oh and dinner smells great as always." Kova stepped out of the kitchen and waved to the rest of his kids and Orion. "Alright kids lets wash up! Mom said dinner is gonna be ready soon." All of the younger children cheered in unison as they ran down the hall to the bathroom where they could wash their hands. Kova would follow with Zane and in time all of them got washed up and returned back to the dinning table to sit down. Now finally being able to relax, Kova looked over to Orion and asked him a question. "So what exactly was that joke you said earlier. My kids love jokes."

"Ooooooooooo. You can tell jokes?"

"I wanna hear!"

Orion looked at the house as they walked to it and he smiled a bit. Been a while since he had been in a proper house. He saw the two girls coming running out and he grimaced a bit when they talked about the explosion. "Four kids, huh?" He said with a smile. He looked up at the young man and smiled a bit. He could sense the love and closeness in the house already. He walked in behind Kova and his kids.

He looked on at the scene with a bit of envy in his eyes. He looked down and frowned at himself. Shaking his head, he returned to his normal happy demeanor. When he heard them speak about the damage he did, he grimaced again and looked apologetic. "Yeah... Sorry about that. I am used to fighting in open areas... Need to tweak that attack a bit." He says as he rubbed his arm.

After washing up he came downstairs and when he sat down with the family he was reminded of all those years ago, when he was a kid. He thought of when his family was together in the past. Kova asked him about the joke he talked about and frowned a bit, thinking about how to explain about a Dragon Diamond. He decided to be a little blunt about it.

"Well, it is less of a joke and more of something that needs to be explained. You see some, not all, Dragons can produce an item called a Dragon Diamond... It is no ordinary jewel. It is harder than a diamond and quiet large... Those who do not know how it is made, think it is very valuable." He spoke with a slight smile, "Well... The way that these certain dragons produce it is... Internally... So these Diamonds are actually... Yeah..."

He sat back and raised an eyebrow, hoping the words would sink in and that Kova would figure out just WHAT a Dragon Diamond really was. He also hoped the man would understand why he was joking about it not being an appropriate form of payment.

Catching onto the joke Kova and his son Zane let out a snicker. "Yeah no thank you I would prefer the cash." he said in laughter.

"You know dad, that reminds me of the time that customer tried to pay us in cabbages."

"Oh that guy? Man! He was such an essentric customer. Let me tell you Orion I've had a lot of strange people come into my shop but none as weird as the cabbage man."

"Ooooo! The cabbage man story I love that one!"

"Yeah Papa tell us that one!"

"Alright girls settle down I'll tell the story." The girls shouted a yay! In unison and listened very carefully listened to their father. "So one day there was a man that came to the shop. Average looking. Just an ordinary guy. And he needed a simple hover car for transporting goods. Something like that is pretty cheap so I didn't need a down payment for it and since it would only take a day, I told him I would charge him the day of pick up. So the following day he comes back and instead of paying with actual money, he offers me cabbages. I said 'I don't want cabbages I want money.' But he told me that he didn't have much money because he wasn't able to sell his cabbages in the market. He pleaded and pleaded until finally I gave in and said yes. So he took the hover cart and an hour later came back with five boxes of only cabbages. We then had a lot of cabbage meals for a really long time..."

"You have to admit though, Mom made a really good cabbage stew."

"Hm. Heh yeah. I suppose you're right Zane. She did make a really good cabbage stew."

Orion chuckled as he listened to the story. He looked at the family and felt a small rush of envy, he looked at his hand and thought of his past. He had a pained look cross his face before quickly being replaced by a smile again. His hand slipped to his pocket and gripped the smooth stone he kept there. His list of tasks was growing in his mind. Team, anchor, and perfecting his own unstable powers. He knew he was still a fledgling dragon, he did not want the humans to know just yet about what he was, who knows how many would react.

"Cabbage stew, huh? Sounds pretty good." He says as he looks at the wife, "You must be one heck of a cook. I learned to cook the hard way... On the road!"

Orion laughed a bit as he remembered the times he spent eating burnt food when he burned his food until he learned how to properly coom and control the temperature.

Kova couldn't help but let out a chuckle as he listened to how Orion learned how to cook. "Well trust me boy, while you're here you won't have to worry about food ever. Although tonight's dinner will be a bit much since it was pay day for the shop."

"Alright guys settle down dinner is ready! Please do enjoy." On her hand was a tray holding many dishes filled with food. There were so many different types of dished to choose from as she laid them down across the table plating everything carefully. Once the food was set the different aromas began to mingle in with each other being able to make any mortal drool with gluttony. In a flash Maria was back with actual dining plates and utensils and once everything was placed, she took a seat next to Kova.

"Thank you for the food Mama!" Said the three younger children in unison.

"Thank you for the food Mom."

"Indeed! Thank you for dinner babe. You really are the best."

"You are all very welcome. Now dig in!" With pleasure everyone the table began to take the food. There was an omurice on one plate with chicken thighs on another, Alfredo strip linguini in a tray with corn chowder on another. It truly was a dinner meant for a family. Chicken Katsu, strip tempura, Salisbury steak, spaghetti marinara. There was indeed a lot of a food on the table.

Dinner

"Dinner is good as always Mom."

"Well I do have a family of five to feed haha."

"Mmhmhmhmhhmhmhmhmhm."

"Jura no talking with food in your mouth. That's bad manners."

"Sorry."

"And chew with your mouth closed. Nobody needs to see you chomping away on your food."

"Okkkaaaayyyy. Yes Papa."

"So Orion where are you from? You don't really look like you're from around here." she said casually while taking a bite out of her chicken Katsu.
