Hey guys. So sometimes I get really vivid dreams and I like to write them out cause you know, I'm a writer. So This thread is open for me to just post up my dreams, the ones I feel like putting on paper anyhow. So yeah enjoy my works. Also, this is the RP Academy so if you feel like my writing can be improved by all means let me know! Short Story 1: The Distance ![]() "I love you." "I love you too." There was a couple, a boy and a girl. Both of them had interlocking eyes. In each other's vision, there was nothing else that they could see but each other. It was as if time stopped, with each passing second feeling like an eternity. Pure emotions blossomed as truths were set free, any restrictions finally being released. The boy, his heart pumping fast, slowly leaned into the girl to go in for a kiss. The girl, frozen not in fear but in total awe, closed her eyes and waited for the kiss. She waited for what felt like a millennia and she would wait forever more because that kiss would never come. Why you may ask? Because this was just a dream, and the dreamer was about to have a rude awakening. Beep beep beep! The incessant sound of an alarm went off, and it was rather loud. The alarm would continue to go off until finally a lazy hand reached the source, a smart phone, and swiped the alarm to Dismiss. The figure continued to lay in bed for another five minutes before a second alarm went off to which again, it was swiped to Dismiss. Only after the third alarm did the person let out a muffled scream then slowly looked up at his phone. It was set for 9:00 AM and there seemed to be a message on the phone, the name for the alarm. "Fucking Turtles Buy." Whatever that meant. The third alarm was Dismissed but finally the boy slowly got out of his bed. A loud yawn was heard as he just stared at the ceiling of his room. He stared for a few moment when his cheeks suddenly turned red. "So it was just a dream huh." A sigh was let out as the redness left his cheeks and the boy began to get ready for the day. "Buh. It is a date today I should probably dress nicely." After a few minutes his outfit was ready. He wore a plain v-neck dark grey shirt with a red and black checkered long sleeve flannel over it. A pair of blue jeans hung a little loosely on his waist while he put on his grey Adidas. A black wooden watch was on his left wrist while a lanyard that held his eyes loosely stuck out of his right pocket. Then finally a golden chain was around his next but it was just barely visible only thanks to the v-neck. After putting on his glasses the boy grabbed his cat-headphones, threw on his back pack, and left his apartment. It was a sunny day out. It was hot but only because of the natural sunlight. Cumulonimbus clouds were scattered across the bright blue skies that provided the boy with some shade as he reached the bus stop. As he waited for the bus a jingle played and a vibration went off on his phone. He got a message from the person he was meeting up with. 'You better be awake or I swear to god I will report you the next time we play League together.' Of course that's how she would respond first thing in the morning. 'Morning to you too.' He responded back with a chuckle. 'Oh wow you're actually awake. How many alarms did you have to set this time hm?' 'The same amount as you lol. My standard three.' 'I do NOT need three alarms to wake up.' 'That's right you need four my bad.' '... reported.' 'Wowowowowowowowowow. Just like that huh? You can't handle the truth!' ' LOL stfu. Ah actually my ride is here I'll get there soon alright?' 'Aye. That's good timing actually my bus just got here. I'll be there as well.' Looking up from his phone the boy saw that his bus was coming and got aboard of it. Taking a seat all the way in the back he put on his headphones, opened up Pandora, selecting his Anamanaguchi Radio station, and took a look out of the window as the bus began to move. He couldn't help but feel excited. It was gonna be the first time he was ever going to get to see one of his closest friends. She was finally able to get the money to come visit. A stupid smile was on his face. After a very long and tiring bus ride, the boy had finally reached his destination and got off the bus. He took off his headphones and smiled again. The moment he got off the bus there was merry Hawaiian music playing. A live band was performing as the boy reached his destination: The Annual Okinawan Festival. There was another vibration from his phone. It was her again. 'Hey so uh. I'm here? There's some nice chill sounding music but the Uber kinda just dropped me off and told me to walk to the center? Help??' 'Oh sweet I just got here too. Yeah just go to the main building. There should be a bunch of steps surrounding it. I'm heading there right now.' 'Oh alright.' As he made his way to the main building, the boy took off his backpack and put his headphones away, moving his lanyard to his left pocket and his phone in his right. He passed by many different stalls and vendors, already planning out which ones he would want to take his friend to. After a few minutes of walking he finally reached the main building and easily spotted her at the top of the steps. Moving quietly, he walked up the stairs surprised that she didn't notice him yet. She was facing the other direction the entire time until the boy was right next to her and spoke. "Hey." Suddenly the girl shot up and almost fell over, turning around and looking frightened but then relieved knowing who it was that she saw. "Aasdfhjfdashkjsafnvniueal. DON'T FUCKING DO THAT TO ME JESUS." The girl was a little shorter than he was. Dark skinned, with beautiful styled brown hair. She wore a grey shirt with a black jacket worn over it. IT was her favorite jacket if he could recall correctly. Black jeans and a pair of average sneakers were on as well. She also had a bag with her. Her glasses almost slid off of her face with how startled she was. "All I did was say hey . . . " he replied while an anime sweat drop would form on the back of his head. "Yeah but you don't have to sneak up on me like that!" "You were facing the other way the entire time!" "Then why don't you say hi to me form the direction I'm facing like a normal person??" "Because I came from this way!" "I fucking hate you!" "I fucking hate you too!" There was a pause, then the two broke out in laughter as they moved closer and hugged each other tight. "You are such an idiot Shou, you know that?" "And why is that Sonelle?" "Because you just are. Now show me around to your stupid Hawaiian festival thing like the gentleman you are." "Heh. It's an Okinawan Festival thank you very much, and with pleasure. Right this way My Lady." "Shut the fuck up." There was a little giggle at the start of her sentence as she smiled and followed Shou as he lead the way. Together, they went to various different booths. They played games together, bought a few souvenirs here and there, but most importantly, they ate food. A lot of food. The first thing that they for was shaved ice. Both of them got the same flavor, the rainbow. Three different flavors poured into different sections. Red, yellow, then blue. Strawberry, banana, and vanilla. ![]() "So? What do you think?" "This is so good." she said while eating it rather quickly. "Heh. Thought you would like it. I personally like to let it melt just a bit so that the syrup starts to mix at the bottom. It tastes so good when you mix it together, although Banana is my favorite flavor of the three." "Oh please don't make me pick. You know I'm not good at picking things." "Hehe I know. Hey if you don't slow down you're gonna get a brain freeze." "Nigga do you think I care? This tastes so good I- owowowowow." "I tooolllddd yyooouuuu." "Shut. The fuck up." The two would take a short break to finish eating their shaved ice then continued to walk around all the while there was Hawaiian music playing. As they walked they would have many conversations, talking about random subjects, asking questions and what not. It was then that they passed a sign that was written in Okinawan. "Hey Shou, what does that sign mean?" She said pointing up. "Huh? That thing? I don't know actually. I can't read Okinawan." "Ugh I knew it. You are such a fake-ass Asian." "I was born and raised in Hawaii! America! I can't speak other languages, more or less read them!" "Whaaaaaat? I thought that all Asians could just understand each other when they speak the ching chang chong." "WOW that is racist." "Shut up you filthy pineapple lover." "I don't even like Pineapples!" "You're just saying that to trick me!" "Into what???" "Into thinking that you aren't a dirty pineapple loving Hawaiian." "But I am Hawaiian . . . I have Hawaiian blood in me." "Wait, you're actually Hawaiian????" "Yes! I've told you this before. I'm like 1/16th Hawaiian." "That's so little." "Yeah well that's better then nothing." "Nah nigga that little amount don't count you ain't Hawaiian." "Sonelle that's not how it works." "So not only are you a fake ass Asian, but you're a fake ass Hawaiian as well." "What?! No! I am a real Hawaiian! No. Just, ugh." " :3 " "Why do you do this to me?" "Because I love you. Now feed me I'm hungry again." "Yeah yeah let's go. I know what we can try next." The two walked off to a different food booth that had a ridiculously long line. While they waited the two were having another argument that lasted for a good ten minutes until it was finally time for them to order. He ordered three Oki Dogs and then walked off to where the benches and tables were located. Once they sat down Shou passed one of the tin foil wrapped items to Sonelle then it was time to dig in. "This is my favorite thing to get when I come here not gonna lie. Sometimes, I only come to this festival because of this. I promise you this is one of the best meals you'll eat in your life." "And what is this again?" "An Oki Dog." "A what?" "An Oki Dog. Think of it as a Hawaiian burrito. A nice cooked hot dog stuffed in with Zippy's Chili and lettuce, then nicely wrapped in a soft tortilla roll. SO fucking good." As he spoke Shou unwrapped his foil to reveal the steamy goodness that was an Oki Dog. ![]() "That sounds disgusting." "Oh just shut up and try it." Without further arguments, both of them stopped talking and took a bit of their Oki Dogs. Seconds later they both let out muffled moans. "So?" "Okay this is good." As time passed The day soon began to turn into night and the main even was already being set up. The Bon Dance. Shou and Sonelle both went to change their outfits so it could be more fitting for the event. Shou came out of the bathroom dressed a blue looking Yukata with mixtures of silver and white into it. There was a grass blade on the bottom as well close to the sandals that he now wore. There was a paid locker that he stuffed his bag into so he wouldn't need to worry about getting his bag stolen. He waited a few minutes before Sonelle came out of the women's bathroom. "Hey sorry I took so long. It was really hard figuring out how to put this thing on. Do, do I look weird?" He heard the voice come from behind him so he turned to face her. "Nah don't worry about it I'm sure you look just fi-woah." Shou's eyes widened as he gazed upon the beauty that was before him. She wore a red Kimono with a yellow sash to hold it in place. Golden streaks were at the ends of the sleeves along with golden blades of grass along the bottom. Socks and sandals completed her outfit along with a lucky charm that she had fastened to the sash. ![]() "W-what?" she said shyly for the first time. "N-nothing. You just look really beautiful right now. It's really fitting, I'm glad picked out the right one." He was expecting the usual 'shut up' but it never came. "Thanks Shou. I really like it, and I'm glad you like it too." His heart melted the moment he heard that and his cheeks turned red fast, although with the dim lighting it was a little difficult to tell. "No prob. Well, lets get started. I wanna show you the Bon Dance." Shou led his friend to an open field with a tall tower right in the middle. Inside of the tower traditional Okinawan looking instruments could be seen along with microphones, speakers, and another sound equipment. The sun had just set and the sky was a mixture of navy and black, only faint trances of sunlight still out. Lanterns were hung and tied to poles that were stationed everywhere. After a new moments the Hawaiian music stopped and an announcement was said. "Thank you all for coming to the 36th Annual Okinawan Festival! And now for the moment everyone has been waiting for, the Annual Bon Dance! Have fun everybody and enjoy!" Warning Picture is BIG ((Optional Bon Dance Footage here. )) The new ethnic music would fill the air as everyone get a loud shout and the entire crowd flooded the area. The first song was a slow one. It was calm and melodic, with a bunch of the older looking people in the crowd knowing all of the words. Shou and Sonelle watch from the sides lines as the crowd and sung and danced together in harmony. After watching for a few minutes Shou grabbed Sonelle's hand and smirked. "Eh? Shou what are you doing?" "We're gonna join the Bon Dance!" "I'm sorry what now?" "We're gonna join the crowd. And dance." "Aahahahahahahahahahahaha you're so funny! I'm not doing it." "Oh I wasn't asking you." "I swear to God if you take me in there I'm going to-ohgodpleasenonononononononono!" But it was too late. He had dragged her in suddenly and they were thrown into the crowd. There was confusion, fear, and anxiety all going off at once in her mind but Shou seemed to just laugh it off. "I'm going to kill you after this!" "Oh come on! Just have fun with it! Just follow what everyone else was doing." Before Sonelle could argue back a loud cheer went off from the crowd. Shou would be right in front of her cheering with the crowd as he started to move along almost in perfect sync. She couldn't help but feel forced into this but she would at least give it a shot. It took her a while but she was able to get the hang of it. And after a while she would hate to admit that dancing in a crowd full of strangers, was actually quite fun. Everyone was having a fun time, dancing together and shouting Okinawan chants together. After about twenty minutes of dancing and four song changes the two left the crowd and found a place to sit down. They were both sweating quite a bit after dancing for so long. "How . . . do people dance for this long?" "I have no idea but maybe that's how Asians live so long haha because of the Bon Dance." "Shut up that's so stupid." The words would come out but there was laughter in her voice. Shou could tell that she was truly enjoying herself with his company. "Hey, I wanna take you someplace special. Let's go." "Huh? Where are we going?" "Don't worry about it just follow along." The two left and would walk away from the crowd and to a part of the field that the event was being hosted at that was empty. The stars were starting to come out and fill the night sky. The music was faint but could still be heard in the background. It was just the two of them walking across an open field. They were rather silent too, both of them enjoying the beautiful sights that surrounded them. Finally they came to a fence side and looked up into the sky. The silence would last for a few moments more before Sonelle broke the silence. "Alright you win. It's nice. I like it." "Well I'm glad you do. It's one of my favorite places on island to be." "Oh? So you have more places to show me?" "But of course. This is only number four on the list." "And when will you show me the rest?" "Maybe another time. But for now, why don't we just enjoy the stars?"] "Sure." And with that there was another short silence. Moving subconsciously, Shou moved a little closer to Sonelle and looked to his left. She was mesmerized by the starry sky. He looked for a few seconds more then gulped as he moved in to grab her hand. He did so gently, which cause Sonelle to startle a little. But there was no verbal assault or banter. Instead, she held his hand back and gripped it tight. "I wish this could last forever." The words seemed to come out on its own. Again he expected at least a little bit of banter but there was none. Instead, she agreed. "Yeah. Me too. That doesn't sound all that bad." Seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours. Both had lost all sense of time at the two of them looked to the stars together. ![]() "Hey Shou?" "Yeah?" "I love you." "I love you too." For just a short moment, time seemed to stop entirely. Did he really just say that? Like the previous statement, the words just flowed out. It was as if he was speaking from the heart. He looked down then to her who also seemed to look at him at the same time. They both seemed to take a step closer to each other. His fingers slowly let go of hers as his hands moved to her waist, pulling her into a close embrace. With his free hand, he ran it though her hair gently, moving it to the side so he could see her face better. With his height advantage over her and at the proper angle, the moonlight shone perfectly over her facing, causing her countenance to emit a look of absolute beauty. In fact, everything seemed to be so, so vivid. There was adrenaline pumping, lips perking, hearts racing. He could feel it, words were about to flow out again. "Thank you." "Huh? For what?" There was a genuinely confused look on her face as her heard ever so slightly tilted to the left. "For coming to see me. For being my friend." A sigh and a laugh followed by a smile all happened at once as she looked down just for a brief moment before looking back up at Shou. "That's not what you're supposed to say in a moment like this." "I know. I'm sorry. I. I'm not really good at this." There faces slowly seemed to be drawing closer and closer. "So I've been told." she said with a soft chuckle. "Well, you are most welcome." "Yeah. Thanks." "You already told me thanks." "Yeah I know. Sorry." Their faces were even closer now, almost about to touch. "Do I have to do the next part to?" "Nah. I know what to do." Then without further hesitation he slowly leaned in, closed his eyes, and kissed her on the lips. Both of their bodies tensed up as their lips made contact with each other. The warmth was surprising to both parties. The softness of each others lips releasing a mixture of Endorphin and Oxytocin. The two continued to kiss while Shou pulled Sonelle furthering their passionate embrace. Finally their lips would part and their eyes would open as the two looked at each other. Both grasping for breath, they would look into each other's eyes. Before either of them could say anything Shou would lean back into her and kiss her again, taking her by surprise. A few more seconds of passionate kissing would take place before he pulled away. Again he would pull away and look at her, this time she would try to get a word in. "O-oh. Wow that was uh. You we're lying when you said you were a good kisser." "Yeah I know you too." "Is that all you're going to say from now on?" "What? N-no sorry. I'm just, so happy right now. I never thought this day would come true." "Ah. Well I'm juts glad that you're happy." There was a small smile on her face as she looked up to him. "Thank you for that. Ah, are you happy too?" "Of course I am! I've always wanted to see you too!" "Good. So uh, you wanna go back and dance a little more? The festival is almost over. I think. We spent a lot of time here. The set they're performing is one of the last songs they play before it ends." "Hhhhmmmmmm. Do I actually get a choice this time?" "Yes, yes you do." "Then no." "Oh?" "I . . . wanna stay here with you." "O-oh. Of course yeah we can stay here instead." And so, the two would spend the rest of their night together looking up at mother nature until the festival was over, peacefully and happily. "I love you Sonelle." "I love you too Shou." ~Fin~ |
